"Excellent question, Lady Fairychild but an unneeded one as I was going to explain that next." Instructor Vermillion's words had the class whole laughing at the girl and although the girl kept a straight face I could see a blush creeping on her face.

That was a dick move, Instructor, a dick move.

It seems the instructor also noticed her embarrassment as he began speaking again bringing the class's attention back to him.

"The reason is very simple. A 5-year-old body simply does not have enough vital energy to meet the requirement of Tier-1… at least the mortal Tier talents." His eyes met mine when he said the last bit of the sentence. Is he hinting I can enter Tier-1 since I have empyrean Tier talent?

"Empyrean Tier talents and above can enter Tier-1 at age 5 as their bodies become developed enough in just a few months of their Spiritual entrance opening. But even they are advised to wait till age 10 to maximise their potential because the more vital energy they convert into Spiritual Essence during their accession to Tier-1 the higher their growth limit or ceiling will be. This happens because the amount of vital energy that turns into Spiritual Essence after becoming Tier-1 becomes your starting point. At every sub-Tier, you can only expand your Spiritual sea by 10 percent of your starting point which means the higher your starting point will be the wider gap you'll create with other people after every improvement. Not to mention to Ascend to Tier-2 and 3 one of the requirements is to have a certain amount of Spiritual Essence in your Spiritual Essence Sea."

"So the more Vital energy you have the better and before you ask why don't we wait till adulthood before Ascending to Tier-1 since we would have more Vital energy that way? That's because at age 10 Spiritual Veins finally stopped widening and are fully developed to their limits. After that, they start narrowing and closing, if not used in a few years after their maturation they completely shut down alongside the Spiritual Entrances."

"I hope that much is clear." Instructor Vermillion asked after the explanation and the whole class nodded.

"Good. Now if you have any questions you can ask me." And question did the whole class asked. After that, he took us to get our talent measured and I was surprised no one besides me and the sleeping guy got the Empyrean level results. While mine was high Tier-4 close to Tier-5, his was low Tier-4.

I also got to know how rare my talent was because every student came to congratulate me and get to 'know me better'. And through them, I know that only the current King had a similar talent to mine.

"So much for laying low." I shook my head.

Even the sleeping guy approached me which drove the other students away.

I was ready for any challenge he might throw at me but when he did the same as other students I was a bit disappointed. Where is the drama? Where is the face slapping? I blame my past self for reading so many cultivation novels and raising expectations.

Anyway, his introduction and words were interesting. His name Was Axel Ashwind or in his tongue Axel of house Ashwind.

The little guy was funny, he started to advise me after introducing himself out of nowhere. He told me to not get too close to other students as they only had mortal tier talent and would die in a few hundred years while I would become an Empyrean with my talent and thus would live for thousands of years. He told me to choose my mates carefully and he wasn't subtle whom.

The next period started and Instructor Vermillion took us to the gymnasium where he had us do some exercises. He also provided an alchemical potion to increase the gain of our workout.

The potion was quite effective because I felt slightly stronger after my torn muscles were healed from taking another potion. Though I didn't see any increase in my status prolly too small to make any changes to it.

After that, we had two more classes where we learned about the specification of pathways we can take in the future.

There were many paths like the Sword path, Elemental path, Alchemy path, Runes/Array path and many others.

We can freely choose any one path that suits us the most and develop it to the extreme or choose multiple paths but Instructor Vermillion warned us to not choose too many. He told us that higher numbers of pathways made it harder to Ascend to higher Tiers as one needs to fulfil the condition of every path he has chosen to promote.

After those two classes, it was lunchtime and we all exited the class and went to the cafeteria. I was invited by many to sit with them but I had many thoughts so I declined them all and chose to sit alone. But I couldn't sit alone for long as my neighbour seat mate plopped down on the opposite seat to me without saying anything or asking any permission. I waited for him to speak but fortunately, he didn't so I went back to my thoughts while eating my food.

Damn, the food is good.

The one-hour lunchtime ended and we moved to the later half of the classes which were for club activities.

The clubs were based on the specification pathway and since we haven't chosen any paths. Instructor Vermillion took us to different clubs and introduced the paths and their motives and goals to us.

At the end of the day, he asked if we have decided which specification we wanted to take. Most students raised their hands and told him their decided pathways.

I was quite surprised they all already decided their paths so quickly. Later when I asked a student then I knew why they easily decided their paths. It was due to their family legacy. Their paths are decided before even entering the Academy and only when these nobles' heirs show a substantial level of talent for a certain path do they take different paths than their family legacy.

I can't really blame them after all each noble families have their own strengths and paths they specialise in and those paths are developed to a very high level, making it easier to progress. It is quite logical for their kids to follow the same path rather than waste time developing new paths.

I also told the Instructor about the club I chose. I decided to join multiple clubs since there were many paths that interested me and I didn't know which one suited me the most. The Alchemy, Runes, Blacksmith and Technique research clubs were the four I decided on. I wanted to select more but four was the maximum number a student could choose.

Instructor Vermillion raised an eyebrow at my decision but otherwise said nothing. He just noted down my decided club's name like he did with others. I also didn't say anything and sat down on my chair.

I didn't regret choosing multiple clubs because I can always drop them and choose something else. I have five years before I become a Tier-1.

With that the classes ended and Instructor Vermillion bid us goodbye and exited the classroom.

The students also exited and started mingling with each other. Some even invited me to some famous places nobles go in the capital but I declined. Even though I was interested in exploring the capital I was more interested in exploring the library of the Academy.

So after declining them, I moved to the library where I spent the rest of the day. And I only returned back to my dorm room when the library closed down.
