"I'mma tan your bloody hide, ya little shit." The guard carrying me said but I ignored him as Blaze's words kept repeating in my head.

'Kill them if they find your identity for your own good.'

I already have some clue what kind of world this is and it is a very cruel world. I have no doubt what Blaze said is wrong. I'm not naive enough to think otherwise.

But even knowing all that is not easy to kill these people. They are people who are just doing their jobs and have no intention to hurt me.

Y-yeah let's not kill them and go with the flow, as long as I can escape from the chief till the arrival of the Royal Academy's recruiters I can stop myself from doing something I know I will regret for the rest of my life.

"Fuck!!!" My thoughts were interrupted by the guard's loud cursing. I looked up and saw heavy smoke rising from the distance… at the location of the chief's house.

What the fuck did you do Blaze!!! I cursed as the two guards rushed towards the house.

In just a few minutes the dense forest became clearer, making me able to see the chief's whole house on fire.

The scene caused both guards to halt and look at the burning house with pale faces. Yeah… the village chief gonna skinned them alive.

The scene also caused me to break out of my reverie. Gritting my teeth I brought out the hidden knife and drove it straight into the neck of the guard carrying me.

The feeling of plunging a knife inside a human being's body was vastly different than doing so with an animal's body. The skin wasn't as hairy or tough as the bigger animals I have killed nor were they as small and bony as the hundreds of chickens I have butchered.

It was a new feeling… something I hated very much but I did not have the luxury to dwell on them as the gurgling and choking sound of the dying guard broke the shock of the other.

The second guard's eyes widened at the scene but he was battle-hardened enough to quickly raise his spear at me.

I knew my biggest advantage was gone due to the first guard not dying silently, but I also knew the advantage I still had. Mainly the guard's unawareness of my strength that was a little weaker than his, my superior speed, agility and better reflexes.

I knew he was underestimating me and I aim to take full advantage of that so I ran towards him at a speed rivalling my child's stature.

The guard saw my slow speed and his serious expression faded. He twirled his spear and stabbed my stomach with the wooded side.

Using the lack of power behind the strike, I caught the spear and pulled it with my full strength. The guard staggered and immediately let go of the spear to not get his hand injured by the tip of the spear.

I quickly threw the spear away and jumped to stab his neck without holding my speed. But something unexpected happened. The guard easily caught my hands despite my superior speed and held me dangling in the air. All my advantage immediately became nil as I struggled to get free. But to no avail, he held my light body without any problem.

He stared at me coldly and his next words caused my body to shiver in fear.

"Focking hell! Ain't ya talented lil shit, ya will sell for quite a gold in the city. Enough for me to live the rest of ma life in luxury. Nay forget that if I gave ya to the chief he'll prolly not kill me. I heard the old fuck was tryna find something to increase his bastard of son's talent. Your blood and organs will be enough to entice those crazy alchemists. Hahaha!!!"

His laughter was the last thing I heard before pain, overwhelming pain consumed my thoughts.

When I came to my senses I found the guard tying my legs. I tried to move but I found my hands dangling. Immediately I realised where the pain came from-motherfucker dislocated my arms.

"Aghhh" a painful groan left my mouth as I tried to resist the guard but it was futile. He just smacked my face which caused me to almost black out again.

Just as I was giving hope an unexpected thing happened the previously hidden panther pounced on the guard and bit the only exposed portion of the guard's body— his neck.

I immediately knew that the guard was done for and I would be the panther's next target. So with gritted teeth, I blasted towards the forest. Every step I took was painful due to my arms flailing uncontrollably I don't know if it would leave permanent damage but I did not have any other choice. Either this or being killed, sold to slavery, or reduced to a lab rat to an ancient equivalent of a mad scientist.

So I ran… I ran ignoring the pain, the worry about the escalating the injury or the lifeless face of the guard I killed. I need to return to the orphanage and sleep before I think of anything else, but before that, I need to find someone who can relocate my arms.

As I was running towards the other side of the village an annoyingly familiar sounded.

"Ahh, you're still alive." I stopped and looked back only to freeze. I saw Blaze walking out of a dense forest with blood covering his face and some parts of his body.

"What the hell!" I couldn't help but ask out loud. Blaze just gave his usual annoying smirk but this time I didn't find it annoying—No! Far from it, I find it scary. It was one thing to make fun of a broody kid covered in blood in anime but other in real life. It was scary and creepy.

"It seems you're injured?" Blaze questioned coming close to me and inspecting my shoulder.

"Ye-yeah. It seems distracting guards suit me ill." I replied with a tinge of humour, trying to suppress my nervousness.

"Anyhow you can fix this." Continuing I pointed at my shoulder.
