I used to be a soldier...
But then they took away my sword.
They tried To turn me into a Mage
But with my studies, I grew bored.
I used to be a warrior.
I used to charge the enemy lines.
I would brave their sharpest blades
I've missed death a thousand times.
I used to be the battle-born
The fastest draw
The loudest horn.
I used to love the heat of war
But now I fight their bouts no more...
I used to be a fighter.
I never ran from anyone.
I'd tackle giants if they wished.
I'd rumble until the day was done.
I used to have the strongest arm.
I used to be their greatest man.
I used to liberate their fields.
Free any village, town, or land.
I used to be the prodigy
The chosen one
The immortal.
I use to be their legend...
That was true
Until they took my soul.
I won them glory
Fame and more
They came and kicked in my front door
They took my hand and took my sword.
They burned it all
They broke my world...
Their magic sapped my strength away
I fought their chains
They wouldn't break.
I think I know where it went wrong.
They feared my might
I was too strong...
And now I await the waking gong
For come tomorrow
I'll be gone.
But I won't go easy...
Tough as a boulder.
For one last moment
I'll be a soldier.
