" The greatest danger lies not in the darkness, but in the fear of darkness"- Anonymous

Elsa's voice was barely audible, "I think we have company." Immediately, Gravill and Nicholas held their weapons at the ready, prepared to fight. Elsa's eyes scanned the surrounding area, her gaze piercing through the darkness.
"Be silent," she whispered, her hand raised in a warning gesture.
Nicholas quickly extinguished the bonfire, plunging them into darkness. The three of them lay down, waiting for the enemy to emerge from the shadows.
At first, nothing moved. Then, a pair of glowing eyes appeared in the distance. Gravill's heart raced as a wolf emerged from the darkness, its fur shimmering with an otherworldly energy.
"We're in deep shit," Nicholas whispered, his voice trembling. "This is no ordinary wolf. I can feel the energy radiating from it - it's different."
"Yes, you're right," Elsa agreed, her voice low and urgent. "This wolf isn't normal. It's a spirit wolf, and it can transform. I'm sure more are coming, wolves always move in packs."
Gravill's grip on his sword tightened. "So what do we do next?"
Elsa's response was immediate. "We kill it. I think what attracted it was the light from the bonfire. I shouldn't have left it on."
"Kill it?!" Gravill stammered, his voice laced with surprise.
"Yes, you heard me right," Elsa said, her tone firm. "Don't be a coward."
Gravill bristled at her words. "I'm not a coward, I'm just surprised."
Elsa's retort was cut off by Nicholas. "Enough! Even in a dangerous moment like this, you two are still fighting. Don't you know how serious the situation is?"
Gravill and Elsa exchanged a sheepish glance before Nicholas continued. "So, how do we take down this spirit wolf before the rest of the pack arrives?"
Gravill thought for a moment before suggesting, "I think we should ambush it."
Elsa nodded in agreement. "Yes, that's a good idea. Let's spread out - Gravill, you attack from the back. Elsa, how will you fight without a weapon?"
Elsa smiled, a mischievous glint in her eye. "I have my ways."
Nicholas raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Okay, let's do it."
As they prepared to ambush the spirit wolf, Gravill couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He had never fought a supernatural creature before, and the thought of facing a pack of them was daunting.
But with Elsa and Nicholas by his side, he felt a sense of determination. They would face this danger together, no matter what lay ahead.
As they lay in wait, the darkness seemed to grow thicker, like a palpable fog that clung to their skin. Gravill's heart pounded in his chest, his senses on high alert for any sign of movement. Elsa's eyes gleamed in the dim light, her gaze fixed intently on the spirit wolf. Nicholas's breathing was slow and steady, his hand tightening around the hilt of his sword.
The air was heavy with tension, the silence between them thick with unspoken thoughts. Gravill's mind raced with worst-case scenarios, his imagination conjuring up images of the pack descending upon them like a deadly storm.
But Elsa's voice cut through the darkness, her words low and steady. "Remember, we need to work together. Gravill, you take the back. Nicholas, you're with me. We'll drive it towards Gravill."
Gravill nodded, his throat dry. He swallowed hard, his eyes fixed on the spirit wolf. It was closer now, its eyes burning with an unnatural hunger.
As they waited, the silence grew thicker, like a living thing that pulsed with its own rhythm. Gravill felt his heart pounding in time with it, his senses heightened to the point where he could feel the individual hairs on the back of his neck standing on end.
And then, in a flash of movement, the spirit wolf sprang forward. Elsa and Nicholas charged to meet it, their swords flashing in the dim light. Gravill followed close behind, his own sword at the ready.
The battle was intense, the three of them working together like a well-oiled machine. Gravill struck from behind, his sword slicing through the darkness to bite deep into the wolf's flank. Elsa and Nicholas pressed in from the front, their blades weaving a deadly pattern that the wolf struggled to evade.
But the spirit wolf was no ordinary creature. It twisted and turned, its body contorting in ways that seemed impossible. Gravill felt a jolt of fear as it turned on him, its eyes blazing with a fierce inner light.
For a moment, they locked eyes, Gravill frozen in terror. Then Elsa's sword flashed in the darkness, striking the wolf with a blow that sent it stumbling back.
The battle raged on, the clash of steel on steel echoing through the darkness. Gravill's sword flashed in the moonlight, striking true again and again. Elsa and Nicholas fought in perfect sync, their movements a testament to their training and trust in each other.
The spirit wolf was relentless, its attacks swift and deadly. But Gravill, Elsa, and Nicholas held their ground, their determination and courage driving them forward.
As the fight wore on, Gravill began to feel a strange energy building inside him. It was as if the sword in his hand was channeling a power he couldn't quite understand. The wolf's eyes seemed to flicker with a hint of fear, as if it sensed the growing energy within Gravill.
With a mighty cry, Gravill unleashed the energy, his sword shining with a fierce blue light. The wolf let out a pained yelp as the blade bit deep into its side, sending it stumbling back.
Elsa and Nicholas took advantage of the opening, striking the final blows that brought the wolf crashing to the ground. As they stood victorious, Gravill felt the energy dissipate, leaving him breathless and shaken.
But they knew the battle was far from over. The pack would be coming, and they needed to be ready.
"We need to move," Elsa said, her voice firm. "Now."
Gravill nodded, still trying to process what had just happened. He felt a sense of awe at the power that had coursed through him, and a hint of fear at the unknown.
As they turned to leave, Gravill caught sight of something moving in the distance. The pack, coming for them.
"Run," Nicholas yelled, already sprinting into the darkness.
Gravill and Elsa followed close behind, their hearts pounding in their chests. They knew they had to find shelter, and fast, or risk being torn apart by the pack.
The chase was on, their survival hanging in the balance.
