Chapter 1 - The Sun Dragon

In the long ancient past, 'God' created the continent of Ignia. Feeling contempt and bored, he decided to create creatures called dragons.

Strong and wise, these dragons would go down in history as creatures who changed the three realms made by 'God'. Some protected, some rebelled, and most vanished.

Swoosh.

A gush of wind came by the valley of the sun. Above the clouds was a dark blue dragon opening its mouth, causing the sky to darken.

The once blue sky became dark and eerie; thunder began to rain in the peaceful valley, but up in the north shined a bright light representing the sun.

Meanwhile, on the edge of the valley, there was a small village of 34 people living in the deepest part of the forest.

"Cassandra!" shouted the man with a beard.

"Yes, father?" the girl answered, wearing a brown and white dress that seemed ragged. She smiled brightly. In fact, if she were given a proper dress, she would have been mistaken as a noble. Her deep violet eyes and dark hair outshined others.

"Dear, pick up some herbs while there is still daylight."

"Alright father, I left something to eat back at the house," then she took her basket and waved goodbye to her father.

After a few minutes, she began to pick up herbs, but a gust of wind blew her straw hat off. She chased it and, looking up, the sky darkened, yet there was still a ray of sunlight passing through the dark clouds.

Descending into the land, a great red dragon appeared, representing the sun.

"Who are you to wreak havoc in my protected land? Return to your own race and never return!" said the glowing dragon.

He spread his wings so vast that they could reach meters, showing dominance over the blue dragon.

"I go wherever I want. I take pride in my strength."

It turns out the one who summoned the furious lightning was the blue dragon, also called the "Storm dragon." Their race once joined in the war against demons in the great War of Zevade.

The one glowing majestically was known as The Sun Dragon, with bright orange and red wings spanning meters, participating in the war of Zevade, the Sun Dragons' race. Shinedown through the battlefield, blinding the demons and beasts alike.

"I am Alexandros," said the Sun Dragon.

"Artiel," he said as he stared at Alexandros in the eyes, getting ready to attack until a light shined on the ground.

Back on the ground, it was Cassandra casting a light spell. It seems like she was a mage with the light affinity. She took the chance to catch the dragon's attention.

When the Sun Dragon looked to the ground, the Storm Dragon fled while he had the chance. Alexandros wanted to chase him, but he was also curious about the light that was on the ground.

He flew to the ground to see what was causing the light, and as he got closer, he saw a girl, thinking the girl would be scared if a dragon approached her.

As he reached the height of a tree covered by leaves, a graceful yet serious man came down. It seems that dragons can turn into humans at will.

The girl, out of pure shock, fell down and hit the ground. Standing there was the man, reaching out his hand to help. She grabbed his hand and stood up.

"Pleasure to meet you."

"Ah," the girl bowed down, "The honor is mine, Lord Sun Dragon. I apologize for the inconvenience."

"You? You can understand dragon's tongue?" The perplexed dragon said.

'Dragon's tongue,' a common language used by ancient dragons. A girl casually understanding dragon speech is something he had never seen before.

He asked, "What is my name?"

"I dare not say a dragon's name," the girl was sweating and bewildered by the dragon's favor.

"Say it."

"A-Alexander?" She said so like a silent whisper.

"Hmm, it seems that she has yet to fully understand it," the dragon scoffed at her words and looked at her. She was holding a basket of healing herbs.

"Are you looking for herbs?" He asked.

"Ah, yes, my father told me to collect some for the day."

He pointed north near the river. "There are B-grade healing herbs there," he said to the girl.

The girl shook her head, saying, "That's the forbidden grounds. It is said that there are B-grade monsters and beasts living there. I can't risk it."

The dragon was in awe. "She does know that there is a dragon beside her, right?" the dragon thought to himself.

"Can you come with me, Lord Sun Dragon?"

"Alexander."

"Eh?"

"Call me Alexander," the dragon persisted.

"Alexander, sir."

The dragon stayed silent and nodded.

And they went forth into the center river to collect herbs but an interesting yet bad omen is coming.
