"grab your weapons, we are not alone".
Alexander took the lead as they march Forward. the top floor was filled with monster but most of them consist of goblins and orc's.
"Where are the stairs that lead downwards?"
"If we continue walking forward we should be able to arrive at the stairs"
While Xavier and varia used a torch it didn't cover much area so some places seem dark. But Alexander was making fire from magic it was bright to see in far distance.
While walking the ground seemed to be shaking, they felt that quite a while ago but now the shaking keeps on getting stronger.
Xavier with his ears he could hear from a far distance, he began to focus and at every shake a footstep was heard.
"A giant?", Xavier said.
Varia was in her position and had already prepared her bow and arrow, Alexander was looking around for any signs of monster but a sudden gush of wind came out of nowhere.
Swing.
A huge sword hit Alexander, he managed to stop it with his hands but he was dragged all the way back. Varia who quickly reacted and shot at the dark with her bow, not knowing what she hit.
A deep groan echoed throughout the temple it was so loud varia and Xavier had to cover their ears. a sudden step was heard infront of them and a large foot stomped forward into the light revealing a dark greenish skin full of blisters.
Another swing was aiming towards xavier with few seconds to spare he evaded the swinging sword, missing his hair by inches.
In the distance a magic circle lit up, at immediate notice a large flame came out of it and hits the unknown giant.
The bright flame shined so bright that it lit up the entire place, as a large scream of pain was heard the unknown giants face was revealed.
"Ogre!!!", varia shouted to warn the other two.
The flame left as quickly as it came, it soon became dark again but the breath of the giant became louder because of the pain. It seems the flame inflicted a lot of damage.
"So it did hit", Alexander came out from the dark.
"You did that?", varia asked.
"Then do it again it's so dark in here", Xavier screamed from the back.
"Can't, if I do that again monsters will come flooding in"
While they talked the ogre swung his giant sword randomly, it's like the ogre was panicking, the three of them easily dodged. Xavier started to chant and trapped the ogres feet with earth magic.
Alexander like the mc he was meant to be walked forward and draw his sword at the touch his weapon started to look it was burning, he enchanted it flame magic.
In an instant he sliced the ogre's feet. Separating his foot and thighs the ground Shaked. It meant that the ogre has fallen, it couldn't balance itself.
They approached what seems to be the head, it's eyes were closed. Did it die from the fall? Or bloodloss varia and Xavier thought.
Alexander came and punched the ogre repeatedly with his flaming fist he didn't stop until the ogres hand moved and tried to smack them.
"Playing dead?, it's quite smart for an ogre"
The ogre stood up with one leg his giant sword became it's support, it suddenly released a malicious roar.
Alexander aimed his hands towards the ogre and said.
"Flare burst"
At the exact moment a massive flame came out of Alexanders hand and hit the ogre once again the ogre let out a roar that echoed throughout. The ogre stumbles as his upper half turned charcoal black, a few arrows were then shot it hit the ogre's head and it suddenly disappeared leaving only the body.
Varia and Xavier did a combined attack with his wind magic and her arrows they successfully obliterated the ogres head.
"Alex, didn't you say you can't use that bright thing again? Why did you use it now?", Xavier asked.
"Run, I'll explain later", Alexander sheaths his sword and began to run.
The two of them were just standing there with faces of disapproval.
The ground began to shake again but this time Xavier could hear hundreds of footsteps.
"Run!, it's a stampede", Xavier ran towards the path Alexander took and varia began to follow.
Behind them was groups of goblins, hobgoblins and orc's they were trailing them. In the distance they saw a moving flame as they looked a bit closer it was Alexander.
They ran faster and faster but the monster still followed. They caught up with Alexander they ran together Alexander finally lit up the place with fire.
The fire was bright enough that it revealed a wide space as they looked around they saw something in the distance there was a pair of stairs leading downwards.
Alexander halted and looked towards the monsters.
"You two go ahead"
Varia and Xavier nodded as they rushed to the stairs, Alexander took a deep breath and called forth a giant wall of fire. The monster stopped at their tracks but some were unlucky they were so fast that they couldn't stop and once they go to the other side it was only their burnt bodies.
Alexander quickly took off and went down the stairs to catch up with varia and Xavier and once they met Alexander quickly told Xavier to seal the stairs with earth magic so that the monster can't follow.
As Xavier was sealing off the stairs, varia began to look around her eyes were amazed to see a library that is so big and spacious. It was really bright not like the other floor.
"Luminous orbs, that's the reason why this place is bright", Alexander looked around and noticed that there were only minor damages in the second floor. It definitely didn't look like the top floor.
"Strange there are no monsters here"
"My Lord This is getting suspicious, Xavier stand beside at all times", varia stayed beside Xavier as she prepares her weapons.
Well isn't she being a little overprotective, Alexander thought.
"Alex, can we check this place out first?"
"Sure I don't mind"
They began to explore the first section out of five, the section of Medicine.
