Chapter 20 - Valdor

Leo led Alden directly to the Golden Pavilion.

Alden, following closely behind Leo, was still processing Leo's words. 'Did he successfully draw the enchanted scrolls? Did Brother Leo truly do it?'

Even though Leo had already pulled out one enchanted scroll for Alden to view, he still felt as if he was dreaming. Being able to effectively draw an enchanted scroll indicated that he was a true enchanter. That is, in just two days, Leo had become an enchanter.

Enchanting was a very reputable job. Alden had never imagined having an enchanter by his side. One could argue that if Leo showcased his skills as an enchanter, the Whitaker family would hesitate to confront the Sinclair family, even if he didn't join the Zephyr Blade Sect. Naturally, abilities would exist to safeguard the Sinclair family in order to attract Leo.

Soon, the two returned to Spirit Materials Street. Leo naturally walked straight to the Golden Pavilion.

However, when they arrived at the Golden Pavilion this time, there were more visitors. The folks nearby turned to stare at Leo and Alden without realizing it.

"Leo! Really, you dare to return? When they spotted Leo, one of those people became enraged and couldn't help but yell and point at him. Upon closer inspection, it was Harold with someone else.

Leo was similarly taken aback when he saw Harold. The idea that they might cross paths today had never occurred to him. Still, he recalled Harold's pleading for his life on his knees as he saw the scar he had inflicted on Harold's face. A look of contempt spread across Leo's face.

"Harold, I forgave you yesterday. It seems like you don't love your life huhh."

Instantly, Harold's expression turned gloomy as Leo responded. The scene from yesterday will stick with him forever. He had never previously lost so much face since the day he was born. He was so terrified that he peed his pants as he kneeled before an onlooker to beg for forgiveness.

Harold sneered, disregarding Leo's taunts and turning to face the guy beside him, saying, "Brother, the one who hit me yesterday was him! He caused the scar on my face. He also stole the money you gave me to buy materials."

When Leo heard this, his gaze went away from him and towards the other guy. This gentleman was superbly dressed, his appearance was comparable to Harold's, and he stood in the middle of the gathering. The people around him looked to him as a leader.

He was also gazing at Leo throughout this moment. The four eyes met each other. Leo could sense a tinge of pride in the other person's eyes. It was a wholly arrogant attitude, giving the impression that he did not respect Leo.

"Brother Leo, this person should be Harold's actual elder brother, Valdor. He hardly returns to Azure Peak Village and generally lives in Stellaria City." Alden murmured into Leo's ear. Although Alden had never met Valdor in person, he had heard about him. However, based on what Harold had called him, it wasn't difficult to assume.

And it was at this point that Valdor spoke, his tone steady and condescending, as if he couldn't be bothered talking to Leo.

"Give back the money you stole yesterday, slap yourself twenty times, and then kneel before my younger brother to show that you know you were wrong. After that, this matter will be over."

Upon hearing this, Leo chuckled and shook his head involuntarily. Ignoring what Valdor said, he walked up to the old owner and started talking to him.

"Senior, I'm sorry to bother you again. This is Miss Cassia's notes. I've finished reading through it. I'm troubling the senior to help me return it." Leo passed the enchantment book with both hands while he spoke.

On the other hand, Valdor was irritated because Leo had ignored him. He hadn't anticipated Leo's complete lack of comprehension of life and death, let alone his audacity to disregard his warnings.

"I am talking to you, bastard! Are you fu*kin deaf?" Suddenly, Valdor's voice had grown grave. Leo's actions had already enraged him.

Having his words interrupted by Valdor, Leo frowned. "Was this guy a rabid dog?"

"That money was something Harold bet by himself," Leo remarked coldly in a low and calm tone, turning his gaze towards Valdor. "He admitted a loss. I spared his life in the arena, and you should be grateful to me for that."

Valdor burst out laughing, as if he had just heard the most hilarious joke. He glanced at Leo and said, "Oh, really? You should be glad you didn't kill him; otherwise, you would not be breathing by now. I will test your bravery; would you dare to make the move?"

"Uh, your brother also tried to challenge me. Take a look at his face now." Leo said it with a smile. "Let me test his bravery. Ask him if he still has the guts to go into the ring."

When Harold heard Leo's clear sarcasm, he got very angry. But he didn't dare go back to the fighting arena, even if it meant putting his courage to the test. The sword stroke from Leo had already made him weak.

"Okay okay, you can work out your problems alone. Please give me the book, Leo. I'll help you give it to the young lady." The old shopkeeper, Ninth Uncle, spoke up and cut them off.

Although Valdor was hesitant, he did not dare to engage with the elderly shopkeeper, instead politely apologizing to Ninth Uncle and standing to the side. However, his eyes for Leo were chilly. The previous day, Leo not only embarrassed Harold but also appropriated the money Harold required for purchasing materials.

He had even argued with his face. Valdor had already developed a deep hatred for Leo. He concluded in his heart that when Leo departed Spirit Materials Street, relying on his identification and desiring to take care of him would be a simple task.

"Senior, I also have another matter to bother you with this time," Leo said to the elderly shopkeeper as he handed the notes to him, his attention no longer focused on Valdor.

The elderly storekeeper slowly said, "What matters?" after raising an eyebrow at Leo and then shifting his gaze to Valdor's entourage.

He thought Leo was going to ask him to be a guard. Although he probably wouldn't have cared if it were any other man, Leo was exceptional.

Yesterday, Cassia gave Leo a favor. Although he didn't know why Cassia would express interest in Leo given her identity, for the sake of Cassia's face, he would take care of Leo a little. He also recognized Valdor a little. In others' eyes, he might have a bit of an identity, but he couldn't enter the shopkeeper's eyes.

"Miss Cassia previously said that any correctly drawn magic scrolls might be brought here for sale. The next step will be to approach a senior for assistance in selling it. The price does not matter. I simply want to sell it."

When Leo said these words, everyone in the room, including Valdor, was stunned. The old shopkeeper took a while to digest the words said by Leo. The difference between what Leo requested and what he had expected was too different. What made him further amazed was that, using the materials bought yesterday, Leo had actually succeeded?

He couldn't help but wonder, "That explosive rune... did you manage to draw it?"

Leo nodded, raising his shoulder and said, "yeeah, I succeeded."

"Harold, Is he an enchanter?" Valdor inquired Harold, surprised.

Harold quickly shook his head and said, "Noo, that is not possible! You know what's going on with the Sinclair family. How could they raise an enchanter? Keep an eye on it—he must be lying!"

Harold was sure that Leo wasn't an enchanter because he had seen Leo's sister before. This gave Harold great knowledge of Leo. When he came out of nowhere with such incredible fighting power, he had already blown Harold away. Harold would think it was a dream if he were told that Leo was also an enchanter at the moment.
