Chapter 26 - The Zephyr Blade Sect

When the two of them came downstairs, Freya was conversing with Alden, but all of their conversation was about Leo. She obviously had a strong interest in Leo.

Freya quickly approached Leo as she saw him return and asked, "Leo, I have heard you both want to participate in the Zephyr Blade Sect assessment."

"Ya, that's correct. Alden and I both plan to attend." Leo smiled as he nodded.

"That's great news! Cassia and I are also enrolling in the Zephyr Blade Sect this time. We'll have plenty of opportunities to meet in the future!" Freya was smiling so much that her eyes resembled crescent moons, revealing little dimples on her face. She was so gorgeous. Her cheeks were so soft that one would want to kiss her.

After a few more words, Freya and Cassia left.

Sitting in the carriage, Cassia remembered the beginning of the moment, with Leo's arm resting lightly on her shoulders. Previously, she had not given it much attention, but now that she thinks about it, she has a strange sense, as if the intoxicating macho aura is still with her.

Cassia pondered as she retrieved Leo's Wild Explosion scroll from her storage ring and held it in her hands.

"Cassia, this is?" Curious, Freya questioned.

Cassia, who had been lost in memories, was abruptly disturbed by Freya's voice. Her face quickly turned crimson, and she was puzzled. She had nearly forgotten Freya was still around. She swiftly added, "This is the other Wild Explosion rune that Leo created. I bought it and planned to study it when I got home."

Freya became interested right away when she heard it was from Leo. "Cassia, can you give me one?" she asked.

"Um… I just bought one; there are no more." Cassia subconsciously lied. Clearly, she had another one in her storage, but she didn't want to get it out for some reason.

'Um, I'm merely not pulling it out to help maintain Leo's secret; after all, the fewer people know about the old enchantment technique, the better.' Cassia reasoned herself. However, she was unsure whether or not she believed herself.

Leo was finishing up his preparations for the assessment inside the Golden Pavilion.

"Sir, I'd like to buy a few more dan medicines." Leo stated. Cassia had just purchased the two scrolls, leaving him with a ticket worth three thousand taels of gold, more than enough for Leo to spend.

Ninth Uncle smiled and said, "Don't call me sir. "Just call me Ninth Uncle."

If the first time meeting Leo, Ninth Uncle had only appreciated him a little, then now, it had become much more.

With his vision, he could naturally see that Leo was still body refining at the third level yesterday, and today he had actually stabilized at the fourth level and had begun bone purification. If this rate of progress continued, he would be a top-tier talent.

It hardly needed to be said that Leo was an enchanter. Although he had no idea what Leo and Cassia were discussing on the second level, Cassia's appearance told him that Leo was far from simple.

Ninth Uncle continued to watch Leo, saying, "The Zephyr Blade Sect examination will take place in another two days. I would want to see how far a youngster like you can go, potentially becoming a Zephyr Blade Sect inner sect disciple."

"Inner Sect disciple? Isn't this assessment only for admitting outward disciples?" Leo asked. Although both were Zephyr Blade Sect members, outside and inner sect disciples were regarded quite differently, much like clouds and mud.

The disciplines of the outer group were limited to housework and errands. The primary duty of an outside sect member was to assist the Zephyr Blade Sect with responsibilities rather than cultivate. One might only utilize the remaining time to cultivate after completing the chores.

The core of the Zephyr Blade Sect was made up of inner sect disciples. The members of the inner group had no responsibilities. Their only duty was to cultivate. Every task was completed by other people. In addition, a specific amount of money, medicine, and other commodities would be allotted each month.

It may be said that being an inner sect follower of the Zephyr Blade Sect equates to becoming a top dog. All of Stellaria City is open for exploration, but you would still need to show some decency to the city ruler by not provoking him.

Of course, the requirements for becoming an inner sect follower were quite stringent. The Zephyr Blade Sect couldn't afford to waste too many resources developing rubbish.

Hearing this, Ninth Uncle smiled: "Yes, they take outer sect followers, but they also accept a quota of inner sect disciples. As long as one ranks among the top ten in this assessment, they can immediately become an inner sect disciple of the Zephyr Blade Sect without having to take another evaluation."

'The first 10 would immediately become inner sect disciples!'

Hearing this news, Leo's eyes immediately lit up. An inner sect disciple, regardless of identity or status, far surpassed outer sect disciples. Originally, he was concerned that if he became an outer sect disciple of the Zephyr Blade Sect, he would still be unable to save his sister; however, if he could become an inner sect disciple of the Zephyr Blade Sect, even if Franklin became even more arrogant, he would not dare to be too reckless.

"Thank you for the reminder, Ninth Uncle. I promise to give it my all! I have to finish in the top ten!" Leo assured. He actually kept another promise to himself, one that would have been, 'I would not only make it into the top ten, I would fight for first!'

When Ninth Uncle heard this, he grinned and said, "I like your kind of fighting spirit. Young people should be making progress. Don't, however, jump to happiness too quickly. Although you are not the strongest of all competitors, there are undoubtedly stronger people than you."

"As far as I know, this time's assessment participants have many body refining fifth levels as well as peak body refining fourth levels for that reason."

Leo was taken aback. Would there be fifth-level body refining participants? It should be noted that the Zephyr Blade Sect's assessment was limited for martial artists aged 20 and under. To achieve the fifth degree of body refinement in twenty years or fewer, one needed to be a gifted genius.

However, he instantly calmed himself. Cassia was not even sixteen years old, and she reached the sixth degree of bodily refinement. A twenty year old body refining fifth level was nothing in comparison to her, and Leo had the self confidence to believe that he would eventually exceed them.

"No matter how powerful the opponent is, I will be able to put them under my feet." Leo spoke quietly. He could not, and would not, lose!

"Okay, don't be too anxious. The assessment evaluates more than just strength; it also considers perception and talent. Make sure to rest well over the next two days. What Dan Medicines do you need?"

"Ten bone purification crystals and ten bottles of ethereal soulforce crystal." Leo spoke without hesitation.

A bottle of Ethereal Soulforce Crystal cost a hundred taels of gold, as did a bone purification medication. In all, Leo had spent more than half of the three thousand taels of money he had just received in one second.

Cultivation was not something the average individual could afford.
