Chereads / CFO Element: Monarch of the Night / Chapter 4 - The Beast of Prey

Chapter 4 - The Beast of Prey

Andrea Hill, the most powerful human being in Hilderia.

Excluding the ultimate predator, the evil that lurks in the night, the King of the night in all Its power.

Andrea advanced the world of the humans: teaching those with newfound abilities, how to control them, also going as far as to put the high-ranking and powerful of these new mages into separate ranks and guilds.

The king of the humans set out on an expedition with his team to find the King of the night.

King Andrea Made the Human Governance System (HGS) that tracked young talents and trained them. For months Hilderia was adventured across, but it was to no avail. Maybe It was just a story told to scare little children away from the forest, especially at night.

"After the Great Catastrophe Four years ago, our King set out on an expedition to hunt down the fowl king of the night; It must be scared of the power of our King, Andrea. That or the king of the night is just a myth." Murmurs erupted across the room filled with young hot-headed talents who were blessed from birth with the power of the warriors from history. In this room designed for learning there are about 200 children each with peculiar talents.

Though there was peace within the human society, it was not so for other races. Andrea Fall with the heart of power rained down fragments of destruction upon those who opposed him, he once wiped out a whole colony of Lycanthropes.

Thinking the King of the Night to be amongst them.

What terrible... terrible ego he possessed

Lycanthropes are one of the cursed tribes consisting of mostly humans.

These people were said to be personally cursed by It; these were the 'lucky sympathizers' who had the opportunity to see It in all the infamous glory.

Not even one person was spared; Man, Child, and Woman were all completely decimated by Andrea's malevolence. This won't go unnoticed.

Everybody thought Andrea Hill was doing all this for the sake of the humans he loved so much but only he knew the true reason. A self-appointed king it wasn't like anyone could challenge him, an unstoppable and indomitable force of unrelenting power, with an unending lust for control, conflict, and death.

It was the heart's influence...

After the lecture, all 200 youths were divided into groups in order of: Reconnaissance, Physical attributes, Intellectual capabilities, and the support unit.

Leave it to an evil dictator to use kids as tools for chaos.

....

In the plains of the greatest peaks somewhere in Hilderia

Powerful rumbling could be heard and felt across a 20-mile radius, this was caused by something moving... running.

This powerful stride was that of an abnormally huge Lycanthrope with blood-red eyes.

Except for one thing - Lycanthropes only turn in the full moon, it was broad daylight. This Beast dove off a Cliff simultaneously shifting into a 10-foot enormous pure white bird with even redder eyes.

It was hungry.

It had a deep lust for blood.

With Its mighty wings, each flap generated such force that the waters below felt the disturbance. All that was in Its path was mercilessly cut down by blades of wind that Its flight path created.

Together with Its majestic white color and red glowing eyes, it moved gracefully across the sky as if to indicate that all was Its to command.

The darker it got the faster and stronger It got; patiently looking for what It wanted.

It flew for a while across the vast emptiness it towered over, Its senses picked up a pack of low-level elves on the land that revealed itself due to the proximity from the distance covered by the Beast from the short travel. About seven in number, by the time it got close enough to the land, the day was over, and the sun had set. The night was young, the sky resembling a veil that covered the land in utter darkness.

The Beast let go of Its control of Its aerodynamic flight path immediately free-falling to dry land.

Shortly after, It dive-bombed into land causing a thirty-foot crater in It wake. Shifting back into a Lycan, the beast casually leaps out of the depths of the crater-like it was nothing.

It then accelerated toward Its target.

Its speed was unimaginable.

Sweeping the very air itself as It moved. About a few micro-seconds later It had Its perfectly sharpened claws in the neck of a no-named elf.

One down - six left.

At this point, the elves were on high alert trying to cover each other's blind spot.

The Beast was fast... very vast circling the round battle formation the Elves made, Its speed made it seem non-existent in that place. Blending into the environment like a true hunter

This was terrible, Elves were weak at hand-to-hand combat.

One even tried raising a bow at necessarily nothing, you can't hit what you can't see.

Another claw raised, and two more fell leaving four. The elves then came closer again to one another to cover up the blind spot that was opened up by their dead comrade.

No way.

There was no way the Elves could win this without the use of their magics, it was night, and the night made their magics weaker. Magic is still magic after all; it was a phenomenon that followed certain rules.

Each Elf chanted in unison and utter panic "Come forth Mother Nature, bind this abomination", immediately after the chant was said it was like the ground itself grew hands to subdue It.

It was roots... multiple roots that brought the beast to Its knees, roaring not in pain but in rage.

Absolute rage it was.

It started with a soft howl, then it progressed to a full-on roar of absolute anger and pure defiance.

The roar induced fear into the heart of the Elves who desperately tried to concentrate on the chant giving it all they had.

It was all in vain.

"Roar"

With another sound of rage, like a power stamp signifying authority. The Beast let loose of the harness of roots, ripping it from the ground. It stuck out its tongue to get a taste of the blood.

Its eyes turned much redder than it already was.

Power filled Its veins, It ignored the helpless remaining elves heading for the dead ones,

slowly feeding only each of them.

One of the remaining alive elves found the courage to run and did just that, but it was for not; an arrow of flames shot out of Its eyes and disintegrated her without leaving a trace.

After feeding on all the dead Elves, the Beast walked to the remaining Elves.

"Roar", in pure admiration for Its own strength. It let a loud last roar out to alert any other Elves in the vicinity to come out.

It was so sure that It could kill more and more of these frail creatures that knelt in front of Its malevolent glory.

It moved slowly.... patiently waiting to see if anyone would dare surprise attack him.

No one dared.

Even the night itself was quiet for the Beast's intimidating presence.

Slowly it moved towards them.

It moved toward Its target, and with each passing second, each stride of the powerful movement shook the very ground.

Leaving deep prints in the ground.

The fear in the eyes of these elves seemed to bring stimulation to this Hunter.

The Beast moved so slowly that Its heartbeat could be heard so loud by the quaking elves.

"AAaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh", The elves screamed in horror as the Beast ripped into their throat, then each limb slowly savoring Its meal. The elf that suffered the most had to be the last surviving elf, watching the pain in the eyes and voices of the now-diseased family.

The last thing she herself saw of her family was the crimson flow of the elven essence that the

Beast seemed to love so much.

One left.

It was now her time to pass.

"No", she yelled in horror.

"No please spare me I will offer all you desire," she said, foolishly trying to negotiate her life with a blood lusted beast.

It did not relent nor offer mercy instead ripped her flesh slower as she bled to death.

Death came slowly to her for her defiance, how dare she beg for her life instead of giving it happily to the beast.

When death had come for her the Beast looked confused as to where to go next.

Maybe visit the now-famous Talen to see what the commotion was all about.

It stared at the six corpses It had brutally ripped without remorse licked the essence of Its lips, grew two extra pairs of limbs, and leaped into the air shifting into the same bird it had earlier flying into the unknown.
