After King Samuel left the conference hall, he went to his private quarters determined to come up with a befitting solution that would leave all the parties involved satisfied.
He wasn't a child he knew how stuff worked.
He knew that in conflict you couldn't always please both sides.
Squeezing onto his scepter in total frustration, he was losing it.
Losing the already weak control of his magic he already had. It could be heard from outside the palace rumbling and quaking.
Then it quietly stopped
He loved Lyta Landert as well he grew up calling her sister. He could remember how it was whenever he and his father went to the elven nation for important consorts or other diplomatic elven matters.
He could remember the way they would play around in her palace, screaming, jumping, and dancing around it all without a care in the world.
Her blonde hair with a pink streak on the left side flailed and danced in the air as she turned her palace, her home into a complete mess.
He could remember the palace attendants chasing them down but could never catch up to them.
He remembered the promise he made to her "When we grow up, we will get married.", then she would chuckle and turn red it all felt like a cold distant memory now.
His heart felt heavy.
The quakes resumed again.
He couldn't take it anymore, the throne, the tough act, and all the responsibilities that his father left him.
Streaks of tears rolled down his cheek uncontrollably.
The quaking outside intensified but he didn't seem to notice or even care at all.
"Lyta, who did it to you, who took your life.", Lyta was nowhere weak he knew this very well, he made sure that she was skilled in the art of archery and concealed weaponry usage though she didn't exhibit mastery on archery she was a master at wielding daggers coupled with her swiftness she could move through the air majestically.
He thought about it long and hard.
"KING OF THE NIGHT!!! IF THIS WAS YOUR DOING, I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!"
Clenching his scepter, he got a hold of his emotion pouring all the excess magic into it.
Ultimately calming the quake making it seem like it never happened.
If this was the doing of the king of the night, he couldn't willingly ask any of his soldiers to go knowing fully well that they would never return.
A just king he was, a king his father knew he could be.
"I'll do this myself."
The king of the Night was too powerful for anyone to fight alone, he needed to make sure that he was ready for the confrontation.
even if it meant his life vengeance was a higher priority for him, he was ready for anything that was going to be thrown his way whether it was the elders and their antics or the threat he hoped he could pommel to the ground.
He got up ready to visit the Ashloven islands alone.
...
The Ashloven islands shook in absolute terror Mother Nature demanded compensation, the massacre that happened on this holy site disrupted the balance.
...
In a secret room, there was some sort of gathering going on...
"Landert we are sorry for the loss of your daughter, but you have to stick to the plan, or all will fail it will leave us stranded...."
*Quakes*
The shaking was tenuous and extreme all fingers pointed to one person.
"What enviable power"
This was the power of the elven king of Kudila, the ultimate power of the elves.
The same reason they took the life of the former King Samuel III
Now an orphan left to fend for himself there was no one to save him and he was drowning.
Of course, they were aware that Samuel was not arrogant, of course, they knew it was all an act. They manipulated everything about him since before his ascension, they had eyes everywhere it could be said that they were literally in his head.
"My brothers Landert, Roland, Conert, Rild, Rifer, and Plint. Can you feel that power? Can you feel the glory of the elf incarnate? We can make it ours just be patient the king is slowly fallen for the traps we have set. As we speak, he should be ready to depart to the Ashloven islands to investigate and see for himself" Chint proclaimed with such surety.
Landert was struck with rage, he really loved his daughter he couldn't just let these people get away with it.
Could it be that they somehow found a way to control the King of the Night or send a signal so strong it couldn't ignore the compelling scent of pure elven essence?
"KING OF THE NIGHT!!! IF THIS WAS YOUR DOING, I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!"
The proclamation of King Samuel III against the night itself.
Laughter sprung from Chint's mouth, then followed the rest all except for Landert was amused by the pain of losing Lyta.
"Cheer up Landert you have another daughter, all is not lost, Lyta..." Chint said taking a brief pause "was a necessary sacrifice" Plint completed Chint's sentence for him "Thank you for the addition Plint". said as they continued laughing at the misery of the innocent young king.
"I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS HUH!" Landert burst in anger "DO YOU HEAR ME?!!! I WILL NOT STAND FOR YOUR PROVOCATION" and stormed out of the room to an unknown destination.
"Poor Landert still so quick to anger" Chint retorted in a sarcastic tone, all the senselessly laughing at the pain of a heartbroken father and a helpless lovesick king.
"Love, what a useless emotion it is."
"Truly indeed it is my dear friend Chint, and soon we shall possess ultimate power for ourselves", Roland responded.
"Indeed, it is my friend."
*Laughter*
As powerful as King Samuel's power was, it was only for one person, how will it be shared?
Who would betray whom in this joint elven alliance?
How can it even be shared?
Could they even take down take down Samuel?
If Samuel was so powerful how could these elves lay even a scratch on him?
These greedy egoists took the meaning of power hunger to the next level.
