Chereads / The Vampire Queen Wants my Naked Body / Chapter 19 - Transformation

Chapter 19 - Transformation

"Can't you see that I am busy? You will join them if you have come here to waste my time."

"Boss, I was informed that a skeleton arrived and entered the dungeon."

"What about it? Let the retard become food for the monsters."

"Boss, you told me to tell you if anyone suspicious were to appear."

"Who cares about a random skeleton?"

"He hadn't evolved, and he had a goblin hero sword."

"... Is that so…"

Now the orc chieftain got interested in the suject… he asked his men to keep an eye from visitors because his actions and his tribe's actions put the country a bit on alert. While the orcs weren't the strongest race of monsters, they could be used pretty well in certain situations where their nature could be capitalized… the idea that such a tribe could revolt was enough to make the other leaders wary of them.

Gorgo also heard about the revival of the death knight, the queen's guardian, the reaper of the battlefield, and also called the strongest warrior of the monsters… after his betrayal, he didn't want to hear anything about him. Still, the vampire queen was dead set on reviving him… but it seemed that he returned as a mere skeleton instead.

"That guy wouldn't do a good job as a spy… and it seems that something went wrong with the spell since he has become a skeleton. What did he do until now?"

"Nothing, boss. He just entered the dungeon a couple of hours ago. I heard that some drunk orcs went to the dungeon, and I can guess that they wanted to pick a fight with him."

"Keep the entrance of the dungeon closed, I don't want anyone getting in his way. If he returns as something else, he will certainly be the death knight. Fighting him as he is currently will be interesting… if the queen is willing to forgive him for his betrayal, I am not."

"Wrath is about to reach level ten, and Pride reached level eight… grinding here for a while was the right choice. I guess I can head to the next floor once I make Wrath reach level ten."

When Pride reached level five, I got a skill called Arrogant Aura. It consumes mana equal to the skill level. Still, it also decreases all parameters of the enemies fighting me by the same level of the skill, so I was having an easy time recently.

"It has been a couple of hours since I killed those guys, but no one else came looking for me… I guess the orcs don't mind that much when their friends go missing, or perhaps they think that it would take a while longer for them to keep exploring the dungeon."

Regardless, I went down to the next floor and soon saw that the place had even more vegetation than the previous one… I could imagine that the boss on the next floor would be a plant monster or something. Still, I couldn't understand how such a thing would be connected to those beasts that I have faced so far… it will be interesting to see and learn it, though.

This was just an experiment since the fights on the previous floor had gotten too easy. Still, I was willing to return if the following type of monster doesn't give Wrath any experience… I was also in a bit of a hurry to confirm the level of the power of the monsters there, so as soon as one of the beasts appeared, on the ceiling, I bombarded it with Envious Flame.

As the flames licked at the creature's form, revealing glimpses of its twisted anatomy, that sight filled me with both fascination and confusion. Its body, once concealed beneath a thick layer of grass, now smoldered and charred, revealing patches of matted fur and sinewy flesh beneath.

But it was the appendages that protruded from its body that truly caught my attention. They were vines, thick and gnarled, snaking outwards like grotesque tentacles. They writhed and twisted in the heat of the flames, displaying an eerie semblance of life as they reached out toward me with a sinister intent.

Despite the inferno engulfing it, the creature's strange form remained defiant, a testament to its resilience and adaptability. It was a bizarre variation of its species, a mutation wrought by unknown forces that defied explanation.

"I guess it is one of the effects of the boss since it can even alter the environment."

As I watched the flames consume the creature, casting flickering shadows upon its contorted form, I couldn't help but wonder about the nature of its existence. And more importantly, were there others like it lurking in the shadows? That seemed like fun to kill, though.

"I guess I will just burn them all with magic for a while and finally get a full set of skills from all the sins. I also want to hurry up and reach level ten in the Wrath's path."

That didn't take long… after walking for a while, the next monster appeared and died after being hit by two Envious Flames.

{The Sin of Wrath reached level ten. You have learned the skill, Bone Sword.}

At that moment, my body began to get hot, and the feeling of power began to expand inside me.
