Chapter 25 - Duel

Before long, Gorgo's head heard grunts in the distance and the sound of bones breaking. Some curses were launched as well, and then he eventually found him. It was a form of the death knight that he hadn't shown in a while.

The skeleton knight stood tall and imposing, its form clad in armor crafted from rough bones that rattled ominously with each movement. Its skeletal appearance was shrouded beneath a bone helmet, its empty eye sockets glowing with an eerie red light that seemed to pierce the darkness.

On the one hand, the skeleton knight brandished a bone shield. Despite its skeletal frame, the knight wielded the shield with surprising agility, deflecting blows with uncanny precision as it advanced relentlessly toward his foes.

In its other hand, the skeleton knight gripped a bone sword, its blade honed to a razor-sharp edge that gleamed menacingly in the dim light. With each swing, the sword sang through the air, cleaving through armor and bone with deadly accuracy as it sought to strike down any who dared to oppose it.

"I don't want to fight you guys, so move aside. I want to buy some things and then return to the dungeon. Don't blame me for kicking that guy when he tried to make me trip."

Gorgo immediately understood what had happened… it was a simple thing orcs would do when they were bored, they would try to make each other trip, even more so when they were drunk or holding a cup of beer. That usually starts fights and that was good enough for them to kill time. Still, it seemed that some of them had already drawn their weapons since the target this time wasn't an orc.

The orcs ignored Deimos' words, and then several of them charged at him with their axes in their hands… they couldn't care less about honor when their allies were killed in front of them. They were stupid, but their sense of loyalty was that strong. In any case, Deimos couldn't help but sigh and then swing his bone sword… the sound of metal and bone echoed in the area, and then the orcs were blasted away thanks to the impacts. When they fell on their butts, Deimos followed by stabbing their hearts effortlessly with his bone sword.

"This will be a bit fun."

Gorgo smirked and then proceeded to face Deimos.

While I was getting a lot of experience effortlessly, I couldn't help but feel like sighing… it seemed that the only way to subjugate these morons was by killing all of them. Hopefully, they had other cities like that; otherwise, Roskarl and the vampire queen would nag at me endlessly for killing all of them.

All of a sudden, the orcs stopped coming at me when a tremor suddenly spread around the area… they all looked behind, and soon they opened room for an orc that looked tougher than the others.

"You must be the orc chieftain. As you can see, your underlings are quite unruly."

"I trained them to be unruly to those that aren't orcs."

"Well, I guess I can commend you for doing a good job of sending them to an early grave. Anyhow, it seems that you have come here to pick a fight with me. Because you know who I am, right? So, if you are willing to go that far, I will have to kill you or turn you into a minion. Both of them seem like a pain in the ass. I don't want guys following me, and I don't want to make these unruly guys even more unruly."

"It doesn't matter what you think. Traitors need to be executed for their crimes. You are lucky that you don't have family, siblings, or kids, or I would have to kill them all, too, in order to cleanse our country from the dirty blood of traitors."

As the words of the orc chieftain echoed across the encampment, a wave of raucous celebration erupted among the surrounding orcs. Their shouts and cheers reverberated through the air, laced with a palpable sense of hostility and animosity towards me. It was a chilling realization that the orcs' disdain for me ran that deep, deep enough for them to revel in the prospect of something that sinister.

The atmosphere crackled with tension as the orcs' jubilant outbursts painted a grim picture of their intentions. As the orcs continued their revelry, their actions served as a stark reminder of the dangerous enmity that lurked within their ranks, posing a formidable obstacle to my endeavors.

Until now, I tried to take things as calmly as I could, but hearing that, I couldn't help but feel truly annoyed for the first time… my thoughts of taking things easier vanished from my head and I just felt like killing everyone around.

"... I didn't want to turn such dirty creatures into my minions, but I will take my time doing that… once I kill you. Since you are just a minor soldier in the monster's army, you won't be missed. Fare thy well."

A random orc appeared with a double headed axe and then passed to Gorgo. The double-headed axe looked like a formidable weapon that seemed to defy conventional design. Its imposing presence commanded attention, evoking a sense of awe. Crafted with meticulous detail, the axe bore a striking resemblance to a bat with its wings spread wide in flight.

Each blade of the axe curved gracefully, mirroring the contours of the bat's outstretched wings. The edges gleamed with a razor-sharp sheen, hinting at the devastating power it possessed. At the center of the weapon, where the two blades met, a menacing emblem was etched, a symbol of darkness and strength that seemed to pulse with an otherworldly energy. With that weapon in my hands, the orc chieftain charged at me.
