Chapter 30 - Conquest

Since I was a zombie now, I could feel hungry, and when dinner time came, a man who looked like an imp wearing butler clothes came bringing some very rare meat… I could tell that it hadn't been cooked at all.

"I was expecting something like a succubus wearing maid clothes… the story of my life."

In the end, I decided not to eat that… even if I looked like a zombie, I still had the mind of a human… to some extent. Considering my actions, I could tell that my head had a few screws loose, and I couldn't blame my new physiology for that completely. I asked the butler guy for something more cooked and less gross, but they only had monster meat, and their drink was only blood. It probably wasn't a healthy diet…

Still, I was hungry, so I asked for the loss-gross-looking food, and then I got something like fish… a two-headed fish that had another head instead of a tail. I could tell that food wouldn't be something that would be very pleasant for me in that world…

Despite my concerns, the fish was quite tasty, and I had the chance to sleep in peace as well. I was imagining that the vampire queen would capture me during the night and drag me to her dungeon in chains, but she was probably bored of that trick already. At the same time, I slept a lot… it seemed that the sin of sloth was kicking in.

"Hey, it is time to get up. Her Majesty is waiting."

"Just more five hours…"

The last thing that I needed was an old man who looked like a lich waking me up, but that was exactly what had happened. Roskarl came to wake me up and then sighed and forced me to get up with Telekinesis. In the end, I was still nodding off when I arrived in the throne room while standing and while the vampire queen was talking.

"The initial plan was to make you recover your strength as fast as possible, but things got a bit troublesome in the last week. Thanks to that, you will have to focus on that using an unusual way."

"... What is it this time?"

While yawning and stretching my body, I asked that. Fighting in a dungeon was fine and all, but I wanted some variety… joining the frontlines of the war probably would do the trick. I didn't know much about that world yet, but it was time to learn it. I am not like some people who truly believe that knowledge isn't power; it is a hindrance.

"The humans retreated mysteriously last week, and our spies are still investigating the matter. However, the demons are on the move, and they gained some territory after they defeated the werewolves in a siege."

It's understandable that I felt confused when confronted with conflicting information about my place in the world. In this case, I believed that monsters like me were considered demons, but I have ve discovered that there are distinct factions within that world: the monster faction, the human faction, and the demons faction.

This information raised questions about the nature of these factions and their relationships with one another. It seems that while monsters may share certain characteristics with demons, they are distinct entities within their own faction. Similarly, humans and demons appear to be separate factions as well.

The existence of multiple factions suggested a complex political and social landscape, with each group vying for power and influence. The fact that humans are facing challenges from an unknown force further complicates matters, raising concerns about potential conflicts and alliances between factions and unknown other parties as well.

"Since you managed to tame the orcs, you can use them to fight the demons. If you manage to win this battle, the other tribes of orcs will improve their image of you despite the fact. The battle will be hard considering the current level of your strength and the orcs; that is why I am going to attack another area and split the focus of the demons."

"Your Majesty, allow me to handle that in your place. There is no need for you to join the battle at such a stage."

"No, you will keep your eye on Deimos as usual. The deimos will try to use all sorts of tricks against him once they realize who he is. This time, you can offer some support, only to avoid this kind of problems the demons can cause."

"I thought you guys would be pretty chummy. Aren't monsters and demons just a bunch of battle freaks who dance while drenched in the blood of their enemies?"

"While that is true, we had some problems with them in the past. It is better if we don't focus on talking about this too much."

I could tell that the vampire queen… Melody was getting annoyed at the topic. She got even more annoyed when I chuckled after recalling her name… I probably never able to refer to her as Melody. That was just hilarious… another hilarious thing that I could tell was the issue betwee the demons and monsters, I could tell that the real Deimos was the in center of the issue.

"I guess the previous me was a genius. A modern-day Prometheus."

"... We will depart in half an hour."
