Lily's POV
"Did I hear him right," I thought to myself as my heart hammered in my chest, a thousand thoughts racing through my mind as I tried to process this sudden unexpected turn of events. I could feel the weight of his gaze as he stared at me, the heat of his body rising, the warm breath of his words caressing my neck.
"No...you can't help...so stop bugging me," he said before letting go and turning to face the other side of the bed.
My heart pounded in my chest as the warmth from before turned into a cold, horrible feeling in my chest. Chris's words, laced with irritation, resounded in my ears like a blaring alarm.
Annoyed, I glared at him even though he wasn't looking my way and then I grabbed my pillow to sleep, turning to face the other way but all I could think about was his discomfort, no matter how hard he tried to hide it, it was just too obvious, but he didn't know that ofcourse.
