Italy, Volterra
Author's POV
A man with shockingly translucent pale skin and contrasting dark black hair stood in a room full of destroyed artifacts, his crimson eyes hazy and horrifying, there was an almost powdery feeling about his skin, like it will break at the slightest wind.
"The ever-calm Aro looses his mind for the 47th time in 3250 years" teased another with an similar appearance.
The man stood still, gazing upward with blank eyes, his crimson eyes piercing through the haze and clouds, in hands was an ancient necklace, his grasp on the necklace very light, as if very afraid to break it.
The other man walked forward slowly, as if to show he's not an enemy.
"I haven't seen you this riled up since the Romaninan coven fight" commented Caius.
"You have destroyed all your collections, remarkable things from different eras" Caius lamented while looking around the room.
Caius stepped even closer, his eyes upright, focusing entirely on Aro, cautious of any sudden attacks, his legs having eyes of their own knowing where to step to avoid making any noise.
"Sulpicia" Aro murmured with a blank gaze.
Caius finally made it across the room, cautiously putting an arm over Aro's shoulder.
"Are you alright, old friend?" Caius asked.
"Woosh"
Aro whizzed out of the room in a blur, making the later shake his head with a smirk, Caius looked around the now cleaned room, not even a single wreck lying around, before he too disappeared in a blur.
Aro was seated on his throne, Markus nowhere to be seen, Caius appeared and sat on the middle throne.
"Where is he?" Aro asked. His previous despondent look nowhere to be seen, a polite smile dancing on his lips.
"Don't know, who cares, 3 millenia is too much for him" Caius remarked.
"Bang"
Aro crushed the arm rest of his throne, before he looked up at Caius, with an expressionless face.
"The entire supernatural world is in upheaval, he's hunting vampires and wolves as we talk, getting stronger, how long before he comes after us" Aro says.
"Atleast he's hunting the wolves, there's one good thing" Caius remarked with a cynical smirk.
Aro dusted the dust off him.
Caius gazed at the necklace, still in Aro's hand, before he looked up at him, a little wariness in his eyes but more mischief.
"Missing her?" Caius asked.
Aro's grasp on the other armrest tightened, looking like a predator about to hunt, before Caius raised his finger towards him.
Aro's face changed as Caius's finger touches his palm, the other armrest was finally crushed, but the necklace as good as it was three thousand years ago.
"Edward is dead, Alice is half retarded, what will be our next move?" Caius asked.
"One Coven after another, more than 50 vampires have died under his hands, not just him, he's raising an army as we talk" Aro replied.
"One vampire with the ability to steal everyone's gifts, raising an army which will have multiple gifts in an weakened version, he will be a much tougher opponent than the Romaninans" Aro continued.
"We need to gather all the covens here, the mutts too" Markus commented.
"Look who made an appearance" Caius chided.
"I was busy" Markus replied.
"Busy ! feeding birds or staring at sun" Caius remarked.
"Enough, now is the not the time to continue the age old fight " Screamed Aro, while stomping his foot and creating a crater below.
"Woosh"
Aro blurred to the balcony, overlooking the entire Volturi estate, seeing his several hundred vampire soldiers train, the vampire soldiers on human blood not reacting a bit to the touring humans, their discipline being the epitome of perfection.
His gaze travelled to his guards below, leading the humans around the various statues and artifacts, each telling its own story, their charm overwhelming the feeble mind of humans, unable to see the real monster hidden beneath their faces.
" A challenge, after 2 millenia, it will be fun" Aro declared to the empty throne room.
