"So, what's up with your brother and his girlfriend, have you asked him".
Theresa asked as they were walking towards the class.
"Noo, yesterday, Stella brought him home drunk and this morning he was sleeping when I left".
Annie replied.
"Oh okay, then I guess you'll ask him today after school."
Tesa said.
"Yeah" Annie replied.
"Hi guys, how are you" Ernest asked.
"We're fine and how about you". They replied.
"Also fine, where is Ronald" Ernest asked.
"I think he's not yet in" Tesa replied.
"We'll be having a school competition with other schools next week, so this week will be full of training".
Ernest said.
"And how do you know that". Annie asked in an incredulous tone.
"My mom told me yesterday night, that after I left the house to study with you guys, our teacher called and informed her that we'll be having sports the whole of next week"
"Or he didn't call your parents".
Ernest said.
"I'm sure he called my mom but when I got home, she was asleep already".
Tesa said.
"Yeah, that's true, he might have also called my brother but since was brought home drunk, he didn't tell me" Annie said.
Who brought him home drunk, was it Stella" Ernest asks Annie.
"Yeah" Annie replied.
"Wow, that's nice, where will we be having the sports".
Tesa asks Ernest.
"Our school will host it, since we have all the parks for the game that we'll be playing our school will host the games for the entire next week". Ernest said.
"Oh okay, that's good". They both said.
"Do know what's best" Ernest said.
"Noo, spill it". Tesa said eagerly.
"Okay, the best player in each of the sports will be given a free scholarship to the school of his or her choice" Ernest said.
"Wooww, that's great, but where did you hear such rumors from". Tesa said.
"I'm kinda close to the coach so he told me personally" Ernest said. "oh okay" tesa said.
"Well, I think this is the time to put on our basket ball shoes and get training" Ernest said swinging his hand in the left direction.
"Yeah, straight to the court" Tesa said also pointing and moving in the left direction.
Annie followed them while texting her brother asking whether he has drunk the peppermint tea.
They don't see Ronald, because he's coming from their back. He notices they are turning in the left direction which is heading to the basketball court, he wonders why they are heading there instead of heading to the classroom, so he runs to them and taps Annie on her shoulder from the back,
"Hi guys what's going on, why are you heading to the basketball court".
He asked pointing the court and the classroom in confusion.
Before they could answer, he turned facing tesa and asked,
"And why do you so chuffed".
He asked.
"Didn't your parents tell you" Tesa said.
"What"
He said thinking of what his parents didn't tell him.
"Ohh, then I guess you also didn't meet your parents awake"
Annie supposed, because he looked confused.
"Yeah, when I went home, they were already asleep and this morning they went to work before I woke up, why what's up"
Ernest said.
"We'll be having training this whole week for a mixed school competition, and what's best is that the best student in each sport will receive a scholarship to the school of his or her choice". Annie explained.
"Woow, then that's great, this our time to shine"
Ernest said in a zealous manner.
"Yeah" they said as they all head to the basketball court.
"Phweeee" the coach blows the whistle to gather us around.
In minutes we all surrounded him.
"Good morning" students.
Morning we all replied with vigor.
He then began his speech.
"As we all know we'll be having a competition next week, so this week will be full of training. I want to remind you that our school will be hosting the competition, so we have to do our best, so I will need your support of punctuality and seriousness to this training, if you're good enough during the training, you will be selected to be part of the team that will play for the competition. So, let's go get changed into our shoes and training clothes and get ready for the game".
We all disperse to get changed.
