Aileen felt her heart stop beating, feeling something rather heavy on one shoulder. Was the Alpha planning to cut off her arm that had touched his head?
Her eyes stung, mentally preparing herself to face the excruciating pain. But the pain never came. Even though the heavy feeling was still there, it was only a dull weight, not a pain.
"I don't mind. I like it. No one has ever patted my head since my brother was missing. Could you do it again?"
Aileen opened her eyes and gasped again, realizing that Lionel's head was now resting on her shoulder. That explained why she felt heavy on her shoulder. If only she weren't panicked, she would feel ticklish as Lionel's hair brushed her neck.
