The woman in the dark armor opened her eyes widely when she saw Aaron summoning the skeletons. Only a few of them were able to trash out her zombies… those were her people that undergo a magic procedure that turned them into strong soldiers that didn't fear death. Still, they lost their lives to it… they were supposed to be the strongest army in that world, and yet… they were being kicked around like they were nothing.
The shields and swords of the skeletons were weaker and of low quality when compared to the zombies, but their strength and speed were above them. Not to mention, they obeyed all of Aaron's orders without any hesitation.
"Who are you…" the woman asked.
"Just someone who was passing by when I noticed that you shitheads were about to destroy the world," Aaron replied. "Your enemies had been dealt with already, but they were spared after they got hit a few times. Unfortunately, the same can't be applied to you. You are too far gone, and you have the knowledge that it is too dangerous to be in this world."
The woman in the dark armor clenched her teeth in anger. Someone like Aaron had no right to judge her… the woman began to recall what had happened to her in her past when she got up.
As a child, Princess Alanna had always known that her future would involve leading a war. Her parents had taught her that obtaining the lands her country needed to thrive was necessary. She hated the idea of war, but she accepted her mission. When her parents died, Alanna knew it was time to step up. With the cooperation of her people, she began to turn them into super strong zombies…
It was a dangerous and controversial decision, but Alanna knew it was necessary for the survival of her people. With her army of zombies, she would be able to conquer the lands her people needed. Despite the cost, Alanna knew what she had done, what was necessary to ensure the future of her people…
Before Aaron could make even twenty skeleton knights, he saw the woman getting up, and then he frowned when he saw numerous tubes connected to her back… he sure hoped that those cables weren't truly attached to her, but that would explain how come she was all alone in that castle when it looked like no one had been in the city in ages.
In the next moment, the entire castle began to tremble, and numerous holes appeared on the ground, bringing more zombies to the battle. The holes closed, and more of them showed up until the place was completely crowded.
Even though they were weaker, the sheer number of zombies coming was enough to stop Aaron and his skeletons from advancing… even if they were able to defeat them all, which they were, they were also filling the place with a wall of bodies that was blocking their path.
"She doesn't know that I can recover mana with each skill, but she still is lowering my recovery speed since the enemies are pushing us while focusing on defense," Aaron thought while furrowing his eyebrows.
As if that wasn't troublesome enough, the trembling increased, and then Aaron felt a weird noise coming from outside. The stagnant air finally began to move… but only because the castle apparently was flying.
"I see now… she wants to make the zombies fall from the sky and destroy the cities and towns of that country," Aaron furrowed his eyebrows. "It seems that she used zombies with magic, but she doesn't know that they will probably propagate without her control… even a magic virus can spread like that, and she can only handle the control of so many zombies…"
All of a sudden, the massive double doors behind Aaron are violently thrown open; a chilling gust of wind carries with it the stench of rotting flesh and the agonized moans of the zombies. Their shambling figures, covered in dark armor, grotesquely disfigured, and covered in tattered remnants of once-luxurious clothing as well, fill the room, their milky eyes fixated on the living prey within.
"Now this, huh… she must be out of her mind," Aaron thought.
It looked like, over the years, the royalty of that nation transformed their castle into a magic flying ship, and they also stored who knows how many zombies they managed to produce under it as well… Aaron could imagine that they produce almost one million of them, an impossible number for someone like her to control without her body having enough mana stored in it.
"You will destroy your brain at this rate… I suppose this will make my job easier," Aaron shrugged.
From the door, from the windows, from the walls, and from the grounds, thousands and thousands of zombies emerged and began to move toward Aaron. He sighed and then used all of his saved status points.
