Aaron didn't know how many mana bombs it would take to destroy the castle; not more than five was his estimation. At the same time, he knew that a cannon able to fire that and not explode while it was at it would take some time to prepare… maybe a minute or two.
"Well, now… I guess I will have to do it," Aaron thought while he was seeing the capital in the distance.
Aaron stopped increasing his magic like a raging bitch and then began to increase his Perception. Despite that, he barely had enough time to see the mana bomb coming when the second shot was fired. He used a Bone Spear to hit the projectile and hit it in the middle of the air… five hundred meters away.
The shockwave caused an explosion that pushed Aaron backward a couple of meters. Still, soon, he returned to his position… the power of the projectile had been as much as he had expected.
While letting the castle explode before reaching the capital would help Aaron solve some problems, he had a better idea… he returned to the throne room. Then he began to draw numerous versions of the rune for the mana bomb. He fed them with his mana up to the point that they were fully charged.
"All right, this will do… everyone, jump," Aaron said.
The skeletons began to jump from the flying castle alongside the clay golems. The fall from that distance wouldn't kill them, but it certainly would damage them quite a bit…
Some zombies were still alive… Some of them tried to chase the skeletons, but Aaron held them back until his turn came. The fall probably was going to kill him, but he had a plan of his own. After jumping, hundreds of zombies followed him. Still, after he turned around, Aaron bombarded them with Bone Spears and opened a path toward the flying castle… after he hit the throne room a few times, an explosion happened.
It began with a single spark; a tiny flicker of arcane energy caused all that. Igniting all the runes, the spark triggered a massive explosion, shaking the foundation of the fortress and sending shockwaves through its very core.
As the initial blast resonated throughout the castle, it ruptured vital conduits carrying magical energies, causing an explosive release of arcane power. Invisible waves of destructive force rippled outward, engulfing chambers and corridors in a tempest of destruction.
Sections of the flying castle crumbled under the onslaught, disintegrating into a cascade of debris. Walls cracked, old carpets were torn asunder, and priceless artifacts were reduced to shards. The once-sturdy foundations splintered, and the enchantments that held the structure aloft faltered.
As the chain reaction continued to spread, secondary explosions erupted in rapid succession. The underground laboratories erupted into fireballs, their concoctions detonating with devastating force. Thunderous booms reverberated through the air as towers toppled, their support destroyed beyond repair.
The once-majestic castle now became a beacon of chaos, its disintegration tearing apart the heavens. Chunks of stone and metal were hurled into the atmosphere, propelled by the force of the explosions. Fragments of the castle's architecture became lethal projectiles, spinning and tumbling through the air in a deadly dance. The zombies that survived the explosion were killed by those…

…
It was almost a pity that Aaron couldn't use all that mana, but he didn't mind at all… he reached level 120 and had the chance to increase his Vitality and strength. He also summoned some Clay Golems, so it was fine. After falling and crossing three kilometers of height, he landed on his feet, and he didn't feel that much pain. Still, now he had to worry about the debris of the flying castle.
Aaron dealt with that by firing some bone Spears at the debris that was about to hit him. Some skeletons ended up being smashed, but the vast majority were able to protect themselves and dodge them.
"Now then… I guess it is time to end this," Aaron thought and then began to look for the bodies of the zombies that he still could use.
There weren't many. Most of the zombies that were still in the castle were engulfed in the explosion and ended up being burned to a crisp until nothing was left behind. Another good amount was smashed and hidden under the fallen debris.
Still, Aaron increased his army by a fair margin before he headed to the capital a few kilometers away. His army reached the one hundred thousand mark, and it was quite something to see them marching and obeying all of his orders.
