Chapter 22 - Last Rites (1)

Thanks for the review, Potent_Venom. Here is a bonus chapter as a thanks.

Aaron destroyed the laboratory with his bone Spears to the point that the basement began to fall off. When he looked beyond the hole, he confirmed that he was only a few kilometers away from the border… the fucking castle was moving way faster than he had predicted, and there were no signs of an engine or magic circle making the whole thing fly… As if things weren't troublesome enough, something weird began to happen…"

(You have recovered thirty points of mana.)

The experience began to decrease… that wasn't because of his level, but because some of his skeletons were killing something else.

"That guy and his wife… they didn't give up, huh," Aaron furrowed his eyebrows and then sighed. "I guess this decides the fate of this world."

Aaron was no longer in a hurry to solve these issues. If the people of that world were willing to kill each other, then it was fine… he would just have to do his own thing.

Aaron jumped on the shoulders of one of his skeleton knights and then began to bombard the zombies with Bone Spears. From his position, he was able to hit the heads of several zombies all at once. He also increased the level of Soul Steal so that he could recover enough mana to transform all of the bodies into skeleton knights.

Ding! [You obtained 150 experience points]

(You have recovered eighty points of mana.)

Ding! [You obtained 150 experience points]

(You have recovered eighty points of mana.)

(You have leveled up.)

(You obtained ten status points and two skill points.)

(You learned a new skill: Fear.)

(Fear: a spell that decreases the strength and dexterity of the target by terrorizing them with visions and distortions of reality.)

(You learned a new skill: Summon Clay Golem.)

(Summon Clay Golem: you can summon a golem to fight in your place. All of their parameters will be equal to the level of the skill multiplied by twenty at the cost of two hundred points of mana.)

Aaron was leveling up like crazy. The Clay Golems would be very useful since they didn't need bodies to work. Aaron began to summon them as soon as he had made and made them move toward the borders of the castle. It would be great if they could use magic and make the whole thing heavier, but that wasn't possible. Still, with their numbers, the monsters began to slow down the flying castle.

"It isn't enough," Aaron thought when he saw the Clay Golems forming the first line of golems completing around the castle.

Aaron saw the castle passing above the final town through the hole of the throne room before reaching the capital of the other kingdom. If the flying castle falls there, everyone will die, but they are going to die anyway. Still, it will be a better outcome if they die at Aaron's hands.

"That other thing can also happen… if those two aren't completely stupid," Aaron thought.

Aaron made his Clay Golems return and made them invade the warehouse below the castle, and they began to smash the zombies there… once again, Aaron began to get a ton of experience. Enough to make him reach level one hundred…

(You learned a new skill: Corpse Explosion.)

(Corpse Explosion: a spell that causes large amounts of damage in a large area at the cost of fifty points of mana)

(You learned a new skill: Bone Wall.)

(You learned a new skill: Poison Resistance .)

(Poison Resistance: a passive skill that decreases the effectiveness and damage caused by poison-related attacks by one point per level.)

(You learned a new skill: Curse Resistance.)

Around the time Aaron reached level one hundred, he suddenly felt the back of his hair standing. Almost at the same instant, the entire castle trembled, and then a massive explosion happened in front of it.

The powerful explosion tore through the air, shaking the foundation of the castle to its core. The blast originated from outside, shattered windows, and blasted doors off their hinges. The force of the explosion reverberated through the halls, sending shockwaves throughout the structure.

As the dust settled, the true extent of the devastation became clear. Half of the castle, once so standing, now was cracking, and pieces of the walls were falling apart. The explosion had struck with unforgiving precision, targeting a specific section of the castle. The walls, once sturdy and impenetrable, now bore deep cracks and crumbled under the weight of their own history.

"They really used the mana bombs… as cannon balls," Aaron said while he was getting up and saw the zombies and his skeletons doing the same thing.

Aaron didn't think that the king and the queen would be able to develop a cannon to fire those bombs. He had underestimated them… when Aaron left the castle to check what had happened, he saw that the garden had fallen off… he did well in making his golems head to the warehouse. Still, next time, the castle will take the direct hit.
