The next morning, Edward and Kleo woke up at the same time. They were first groggy from just waking up. They then realized that they were sleeping close to each other and that Kleo had her head on Edward's shoulder.
They quickly pulled apart from each other.
Kleo was blushing from her cheeks to the tip of her ears. Edward instead was very composed. After what happened yesterday, he was which reluctant to go into a relationship of any type so early.
The previous day's betrayal had left a very deep scar on his personality and he was now hesitant to start relationships. Thinking about what happened yesterday brought unfathomable and unquenchable anger to his very being filling him with hate.
Breathing in and out slowly, Edward decided that what had happened had happened and it was now time to move on and start anew.
Taking away the events of yesterday he turned to Kleo and said,"Kleo, thank you so much for allowing me to stay at your place. I will find a job and move out.". Kleo's expression quickly shifted from that of embarrassment to that of confusion with slight anger. "You don't have to. You can stay here for as long as you want to.", She replied. "I am really grateful but I think I should not intrude on your privacy in such a way because of my foolish mistake. Because of me you also lost your job. I don't know how I can ever thank you enough.", Edward said.
There was an awkward silence that took over the room that would enable anyone present there to hear a pin drop. The air was crackling with tension as Kleo wanted Edward to stay for as long as he please but Edward wanted to leave after he had found a steady source of income.
To do away with the awkward silence and decide the next step of action, Edward asked,"I will be going out today to look for a job for financial stability. When I start making enough money I will leave"."Ok, but as I said you can always stay here for as long as you can. I will also go out to look for a job.",Kleo responded.
"I have a suit my dad left for me. You can wear it for your job hunt.",Kleo said. "It's fine thank you. I am already crushing at your place. It's enough.", Edward said.
Kleo's dad was in a facility for the aged. Her mom had passed away which made her sad devastated. He fell into depression and Alzheimer got to him. He was then out into a nursing home. Kleo has to always pay money for his upkeep Losing her job has now made it very harder for her to do that.
She did save some money but that went into a treatment he needed very urgently.
After all was said and done, Edward moved to the bathroom to have a bath and get ready for job hunting. Kleo sat quietly on the couch. After Edward was done he came into the living room to meet Kleo.
Kleo had also gotten ready. She had gone to bath immediately after Edward and quickly got dressed to be able to walk with him.
Kleo looked very charming and exuded an aura of prestige that rivaled the beauty of the sky. Edward just stood there aloof after setting his eyes on Kleo. Kleo had to wave her hands in front of his face multiple times to get him to come back to reality.
After he came back to reality, he complimented Kleo on her looks and they headed on outside. They both walked across the street slowly. There was total silence between them.
As they walked, they soaked in the beauty of the world. They had not quite had the opportunity to absorb and appreciate the beauty the earth truly was. They were always busy with work that the neglected the little things that made it all worth it.
They could she a man standing in front of a restaurant holding a cardboard that pointed towards the restaurant beckoning passerby to the restaurant. He threw the beard and caught it in one fell swoop. He then turned around swiftly while spinning the board.
Opposite the restaurant was a park the had the privilege to house and nurture trees and animals of all races and species. In the park stood thick and tall trees that could rival a mountain in height. This provided shade and a sense of comfort. The trees had a lush green color and the air of life around them.
Children ran all around the tree. Some of them playing hide and seek with other children and others chasing the animals that graced the park with their presence.
Squirrels, cats, dogs and many animals ran around the park. Birds came down and fed from the hands of people. They chirped in balanced symphony.
As they walked further down the street, they reached a clearing where many people had come together to sell many diverse products. The clearing was packed and bustling with people of diverse races all coming together to embrace everything life has to offer.
Seeing all this while walking down the street gave the two of them a sense of nostalgia. Back in the days when they were just kids and nothing ever bothered them. Now they were mature enough to see what life really was.
Walking down the street, they came across Tellall Media. They had a hiring advertisement in front of the building. The building was a skyscraper made of glass similar to that of MEGATECH.
"This is yours. Go in", Edward said. "Why? Can't this also be yours?",Kleo quipped. "This will be later. But for now I will find some job else. We can't be in the same place.",Edward responded
Kleo said her good byes and left for the recruitment office. Edward watched Kleo go and turned to leave. As he took a step a man came to him from the building and inquired."Is she your girlfriend or something?". "No. She is not",Edward replied.
Walking down the street, Edward could see the reporter - Aria walking towards him with the intention of asking him questions pertaining to the change in ownership of MEGATECH.
Quickly thinking on his feet he moved towards an alley away from the eyes of the reporter. He lay they on the floor. After some time he planned to get out of the alley and search for the job.
Suddenly a man appeared out of nowhere and put a mechanical small air pod shaped device into his hands. He then left without saying a word.
The device had a logo with the letter 't' with wings on both sides of it. A glowing blue light was emanating from it. He opened the device and he saw a spider in the box. The spider looked more like a device than a real one.
His finger grazed the spider and suddenly a small sharp object pricked his finger and drew a little of his blood. It then said in a mechanical voice, "Identity identified".
Suddenly the spider jumped onto his chest and fazed into his skin. Then blue bright lines from the legs of the spider started to move all around his body integrating into every vein and artery of his being.
He could feel a strange but nice feeling and a power like never before coursing through his body. Everything went bright then suddenly it did not.
Edward slumped unto the alley floor unconscious. A few hours had passed before Edward started to gain consciousness. He woke up and realized he was in the alley way. He had hit his head really bad and was bleeding but strangely enough there was not concussion on his head. He thought it was strange but did not think much of it.
He got up and to his surprise his body was very light and his thinking process has changed and refined. He quickly got up and dusted his clothes. He continued down the street and came across a mechanical garage that had a the name "Lee's Mechanics" written on it.
He faced the garage and took a deep breath ready for what was about to be his future now.
