Kleo had just entered the building and was greeted by a man who was standing right in front of the door. She walked past the man and walked to the reception area.
The reception area was directly opposite the door and there was a red haired woman sitting behind the grand desk writing something on a paper. She looked focused and Kleo didn't want to disturb her. The moment Kleo got into close proximity of the lady her head jerked up and she beamed a bright smile at Kleo.
"Hi. My name is Lelain. I am the receptionist of Tellall media.", the receptionist said. "Hi, my name is Kleo. I came in here to apply for a position as a journalist in this esteemed organization.",Kleo responded.
"Great, I know you would get the job already. Please wait as I book an appointment with the hiring committee for you.", Lelain replied. "The hiring committee?",Kleo inquired.
"Yes, here at Tellall Media we have different groups of people within the organization that do different tasks. This makes the organization well structured and organized. Each group has a name corresponding to what they do, a floor for their operations, a rank for the hierarchy and a head. The hiring committee is the group on the first floor that as the name suggests is necessary for reviewing new people that apply for positions in the organization. There are other groups but that will be introduced to you when you pass the review.", Lelain elucidated.
Kleo was then moved into the waiting room. The waiting room was not that large but spacious. It was an air-conditioned room with a 98 inched TV showing various reports from the organization. The room had a door at the front to the right and one to the back to the right where Kleo was ushered into from.
The chairs were together to one another. It had five chairs in a row and there were six of these chairs arranged neatly in and line . These group of chairs were on the left and right side of the room separated by a space to allow people to pass and increase mobility.
As Kleo sat there, she was comparing the design and grandeur of the place to that of MEGATECH and came to the conclusion that this place could not best that of MEGATECH. As she continued to look around, she felt the air around her shift and the temperature to her left increase.
When she turned to look at her, she could she a nice handsome young man sitting next to her. He was wearing a hoodie that hid his face and a nose mask that further made him unrecognizable.
Kleo turned to him, look at him for a second and turned back to look around. That was when she heard the man speak,"Hi Kleo. I am surprised to see you here." Hearing what the man just said, Kleo turned abruptly to the man and frowned. She then ask the question that anyone in her shoes would have,"Who are you and how do you know me?".
The man chuckled and said in a sweet but hoarse voice,"That is not important right now. What is important is that you prepare yourself for what is to come. Since you were previously at MEGATECH, it wont be hard to figure out who you are. Since you are all on the news as well as Edward. Most people here would side with the new owner of MEGATECH due to the news. You have to strive to the top and when you do, you will know who I am. I am an ally and not an enemy so don't be so tensed. Before I forget, be careful Tellall Media is not all that."
Kleo was about to ask a question when her name was called from the room at the front behind the door to the right. "We are ready for you", a woman voiced out. When Kleo looked back to where the man was seated, he was know where to be found. It seemed that he had left when her attention had drifted to the woman.
Kleo stood up and walked to the door in the front. The woman who called Kleo opened the door for her to enter. Kleo sauntered into the room and was met with a dimly lighted room that was divided into two. One part looked like the place where the applicant was to be seated. Behind the partition was a number hiring committee members.
Kleo then went towards the only seat on her side and waited. One of the hiring committee asked her why she was standing and she stated that she was waiting to be told to sit. The man who asked smirked and checked something in a book he held and allowed her permission to sit.
Kleo had been Edward's assistant and knew all the things an applicant must do to impress Edward so she applied it here. Kleo still kept standing and was asked why she was still standing and she replied that she had noticed that the chair was partially broken on the leg at the left side. The man gave a small laugh and said," I already like this one."
The woman who called Kleo in then came to change the chair and Kleo then sat. The man then cleared his throat and proceeded to speak,"You have done quite well to pass the first three tests."
First three? Kleo asked herself. I only did two things that pass as tests. She then came to her realization that the third one had to be how she sat on the chair. "Let us get straight to the interview shall we?", the man from earlier spoke. It looked like he was the one doing the talking in this interview.
"Kleo, tell us about yourself?", the man asked. "I like to read and solve puzzle. I like to know more about what goes on around me. I am jovial to be around but focused and serious when work is at hand. I can provide increased efficiency to this company. I like to meditate and enjoy all the gifts, experience and lessons life has to offer.", Kleo replied.
"Why did you not tell us your name or age or your past workplace?",the man inquired. "I already stated all that on my CV. You also mentioned my name to emphasize and give a hint that you already knew all that. I just paid attention to detail.",Kleo responded.
As she did the man checked something on the book again. "How much do you want to be paid?", the man asked as he squinted his eyes and perked his ears waiting for Kleo's reply.
"I would like to be paid $20 per hour.", Kleo replied. As soon as she did, a sparkle appeared in the eye's of the man and he sprung up out of his seat. "She is the best person for this organization." He then turned to Kleo and said," We already have a fixed amount to pay you but I just asked to see if you had something you were expecting to reach. If you had answered with whatever we wanted to pay you. Well let us say it would have been a shame."
"Show Miss Kleo here to her new office and teach her everything she needs to start the job.",the man said as he walked away. Before he could get far away, Kleo shouted and asked,"Wait, what is your name?".
The man paused in his tracks but did not turn back. After a brief period he replied,"That is not important right now." He then walked away. When Kleo heard that sentence, the man who came to sit by her in the waiting room came to mind. It could not be him could it? Kleo asked herself.
The woman from before then came to her and escorted her to her new working quarters.
