As I pushed open the heavy wooden doors of the adventurer's guild, a wave of excitement and anticipation washed over me. The bustling atmosphere inside immediately caught my attention. The guild hall was a vibrant blend of diverse races, each clad in various attires that reflected their unique backgrounds and specialties.
The air was thick with the scent of leather, and the clinking of armor and weapons created a rhythmic melody that echoed through the hall. I marveled at the diversity of adventurers present – humans who looks strong, towering elves with pointed ears, nimble halflings weaving through the crowd, and sturdy dwarves discussing their latest conquests.
The guild hall was adorned with a plethora of banners, each displaying the emblem of a different faction or kingdom. A large, intricately carved wooden board dominated one side of the hall, covered with numerous parchments and requests.
As my eyes scanned the room, I noticed a group of demi humans engaged in animated conversation near a round table. Their animal features mixed with their human body, emphasizing their unique appearance. A party of lizardfolk, their scales glistening in various hues, were huddled around a map, planning their next expedition.
Several tables and chairs were scattered across the guild hall, occupied by adventurers in the midst of lively discussions. A minotaur, towering over the others, engaged in arm wrestling with a group of humans, his massive horns adding an intimidating flair to the scene.
The aroma of freshly cooked meals wafted through the air, originating from a corner where a makeshift kitchen was set up. A variety of races gathered there, enjoying a hearty meal together. It was heartening to witness such camaraderie among individuals from different walks of life, bound by a shared passion for adventure.
Near the center of the guild hall stood the reception counter, manned by a female human and a female elf receptionists who greeted newcomers with warm smiles. Behind them, a massive bulletin board displayed the accomplishments and rankings of the guild's top adventurers, inspiring awe and admiration among those present.
I couldn't wait to immerse myself in this diverse world of adventurers, to forge alliances, face formidable challenges, and etch my own tale into the tapestry of the guild's history.
With a newfound determination, I along with Dora who was by my side stepped further into the guild hall.
The moment Dora and I walked into the room, the sound stopped, and everyone was looking at us. Some were looking at us in confusion, while others with curiosity. Some were glaring at us, while others were looking at us with lust.
I obviously ignored all the attention and confidently walked up to the receptionist desk with Dora still clinging to my arm. I have to hand it to her; she has nerves of steel to be able to cling to me even with all this attention.
Once I reached the counter, the human receptionist lady there smiled at me.
"Welcome to the adventurer's guild. How may we be of service to you, miss?"
"I would like to register myself and the girl beside me as adventurers in this guild."
The moment I said that, everyone burst into an uproar.
"She wants to be an adventurer? She must be joking."
"With that delicate body of hers, it is obviously not possible."
"Do you think she is a runaway noble?"
"Could be possible. Look at her appearance and outfit."
"I bet the nine-tail fox beside her is her slave or something."
The noise continued as such. The noise was getting quite irritating for me, but I chose to ignore it and focus on what I came for.
The receptionist lady was shocked at first, but she hid it with a smile. I guess she was a pro in her work who has seen many weird things in her line of work.
"If you want to register as an adventurer for both of you, then you will need to pay the fees and fill out some forms we will give you. After that, you will enter into the 'Room Of Evaluation' to know what your level is. Once that is done, a guild card will be made for you."
"How much for the fee?"
"Two silver coins for a person, so it will be four silver coins for both of you."
That was quite expensive, but I could afford it. I nodded and was about to pay when a large hand hit the counter next to me, which startled me.
I looked up and saw a buff man of about 180.2 cm in height, wearing only leather pants and shoes. He had no shirt, exposing all his buff muscles. His body was filled with scars, and his head was cleanly shaved. He had a rough cross scar on his forehead and was carrying a big axe on his back. He was the definition of a brute.
The brute glared at me in disdain.
"This ain't the place for a princess like you to enter casually. Why don't you go back to your house and drink tea or something?"
He seems to be saying something, but I completely ignored him and turned back to the receptionist lady.
"It was four silver coins, right? Give me a sec to bring it."
"Hey! I'm talking to you, little girl!"
The brute started shouting when I ignored him. I sighed and turned to him.
"What do you want, you brute?"e
"Who are you calling a brute, little girl? I dare you to say it again!"
"What man on his right mind will come to intimidate a girl he just met for the first time with his size and power? Only a brute does that, no?"
"Why, you!"
The brute's face was turning red with anger, and he looked like he would attack me at any moment. I felt a tug on my sleeves, and I turned and saw Dora looking at me.
"Lilia, I don't think fighting is allowed inside the guild building. And you don't want to draw attention to yourself this early."
She is right about that. I don't need to deal with this brute with violence. I guess I should just ignore him as I was doing.
That was my plan, but what the brute said made me change my mind real quick.
"You should listen to your slave, little girl, or you'll get hurt."
"What did you call me?" Dora asked the brute with anger.
"Ain't you a slave for that stupid rich princess beside you?"
"Better than an ugly brute who has no hope of getting a girl in all his life."
The whole guild burst out in laughter after hearing what Dora said to the brute. Even I could barely contain my laughter at seeing the face of the brute turning red.
The brute was so angry that steams were coming out from his head.
"What did you say, bitch?"
"You heard me, you ugly brute."
"That does it..."
Not caring about anything else, the brute sent a full-powered punch at Dora with all his might. He didn't even care that he was in the guild or that Dora was a girl; he just wanted to vent his anger on Dora for what she said.
I, for one, will never let a brute like this lay a finger on Dora.
I used my left hand and blocked the punch of the brute, causing a gust of wind to blow everywhere. Despite his appearance, his punch seems to contain an in-depth power within it, but it was easy for me to handle.
As the brute and everyone were still looking on in confusion, I used my right hand to lightly punch the brute in the face, which sent him flying through the door of the guild and into the city until he was out of sight.
Everyone had a gobsmacked expression as they watched me send that brute flying with a single punch.
Dora was smiling at me as if I was her knight in shining armor, but I focused on sensing if the brute is still alive or not.
After confirming that he was still alive with my op senses, I turned back to the receptionist lady who still had her mouth open in shock.
"Can I pay now?"
The receptionist lady shook her head and nodded at me. I paid four silver coins to her, and she gave me some forms to fill. Dora and I filled out the form, which asked for basic information like name, age, place of birth, etc.
After that, she called the other receptionist lady beside her which was the elf girl and asked her to take me and Dora to the Room Of Evaluation.
We entered a corridor that led to the room, and as we were walking, the second receptionist lady turned to us.
"Sorry for not introducing myself before. My name is Rita, and I am the guild second receptionist."
"My name is Lilia."
"And my name is Dora."
"Lilia and Dora, huh? Those are beautiful names. I must say, Lilia, you are quite strong for someone with your delicate figure."
"I get that a lot, trust me."
"I bet. You defeated Sinji with one punch, after all."
"Is he that strong, Rita?"
"He is. He is a famous C-rank adventurer in the master realm who is two levels away from reaching B-rank. He loves to bully newbie adventurers to show his dominance. It was very refreshing to see him being sent flying like that by a girl, no less."
"I bet it is. Lilia is my prince charming, after all."
Dora immediately hugged me from behind while saying that, causing my face to turn red, but I didn't push her away for some reason. I guess I have gotten used to her hugging me at this point.
"You two must be close, huh?"
"We are. Just so you know, Lilia is mine, and I won't share her with anyone."
"I see. I'll keep that in mind."
This Dora and her always saying embarrassing things. I am happy she thinks that way about me, but I won't be saying it to her, though.
We continued to move until we entered a room with so many inscriptions written on the walls. At the center of the room was a magic circle that was lightly glowing. And in front of the magic circle is a full glass screen that was in the wall.
Rita turned to us and pointed at the magic circle in the center of the room.
"Now then, will either of you step into the magic circle so we know your levels and where you should rank?"
I guess this is it then. I turned to Dora.
"Why don't you go first, Dora?"
"You sure, Lili?"
"No problem here. Go on already."
"Alright then, sweetheart."
Dora walked into the magic circle and stood there.
Immediately, the room lit up and glowed a bright white color. After that, a magic circle appeared above Dora's head and began to slowly descend from her head to her entire body as if scanning her.
After that was done, the light died down, and the glass screen glowed and began to show some information about Dora on it.
"Now let's see. What! How can this be?"
Rita looked at the screen and was shocked by what she saw. I couldn't blame her because I too was shocked.
Name: Dora Sylvantail
Race: Princess Of The Fox Tribe
Level: 1100, S-Rank locked (Current Level 365, B-Rank)
Realm: ???, Middle Realm
Mana: 10,000,000 locked (Current Mana 10,000)
Strength: 4,100,200 locked (Current Strength 10,500)
Defense: 5,870,500 locked (Current Defense 11,000)
Agility: 4,550,500 locked (Current Agility 9800)
Intelligence: 7,980,640 locked (Current Intelligence 7700)
Spirit: 9,930,680 locked (Current Spirit 8860)
"What the heck is going on?"
I couldn't help but ask that out loud. After all, what I am looking at is very confusing.
Dora has some high specs, and her level is even 1100 which should be in the Higher Realm of S-Rank, but it said locked for some reason and was showing different numbers.
"I have no idea as well. This is the first time I have ever seen such before."
Rita was scratching her head in confusion. Dora's specs were just so confusing.
"Well, I expected this, actually."
Dora looked at her specs and nodded as if this was what she expects. I looked at her in confusion.
"Dora, can you please explain why your specs are saying locked and are showing different numbers which is B rank?"
"Sorry my sweet Lili, but I can't reveal that information to anyone besides you. Rita, please print my guild card with my current specs and omit my locked specs."
"As you wish. I guess the ones that weren't locked are all B rank in the middle realm. Which means that you'll be a B rank adventurer. Now then Lilia, please enter the magic circle to check out your own level and rank."
I nodded and went into the circle. The same light and magic circle appeared above me and scanned me like it did to Dora before it disappeared.
After that, the screen again lit up and showed my specs. This time though, Rita, Dora, and even myself had our mouths open wide in shock as our eyes were fixated on the numbers on screen.
Name: Lilia
Race: High Human
Level: ???, Rank ???
Realm: ???
Mana: 99999999999999999999999999999999999999
Strength: 9999999999999999999999999999999999999
Defense: 9999999999999999999999999999999999999
Agility: ∞
Intelligence: 9999999999999999999999999999999999999
Spirit: 9999999999999999999999999999999999999
"Is our system broken? That must be it. It has been running for many years now that it broke, huh! That is the only explanation to explain these bizarre numbers."
Rita is trying to convince herself that the reality before her is a lie.
"I knew my sweet Lili was strong, but I didn't think that she was a god in the mortal realm. And what is up with her level, rank and agility?"
Dora has a bad misunderstanding about my race. It says right there that I am a High Human, not a god. I can't believe the random race I imagined myself to be is actually my race.
I can't blame any of them for their reaction because even I am shocked. First of all
"Is that number even countable?"
A/N: And that's that. Now you see how ridiculously powerful Lilia is.
Now for some explanation on some terms:
Strength: This is the overall physical ability of a person. The number determines whether a person is strong physically or not.
Defense: This is a person's durability. The number will determine how durable a person is.
Agility: This is the overall speed of a person. The determines whether a person is fast or not. Reaction speed is also included.
Intelligence: This is the damage level of magic. Those who have high intelligence will be able to cast more magic and deal heavy damage with spells.
Spirit: This is the resistance level of magic. Those who have high spirit are always able to resist spells from magicians. The higher the spirit, the higher the resistance to magic.
And that's what those terms mean in this story. Mind you that not all characters can use magic and having high defense doesn't mean you can tank a magic spell if your spirit is low.
Anyway, tell me what you think in the comments.
