Lilia's POV
I hurriedly flew back to the village after my fight with Aldinach. The sun was already rising, indicating that my fight with Aldinach lasted the whole night.
Before reaching th village, I flew to where the many dead bodies of the Direwolves we killed were littered. Using spatial magic, I stored all the dead bodies I could find inside it as evidence that we completed our mission.
After that was done, I continued to fly to the village in other to see Dora.
As I approached the village, I saw from a distance that the villagers gathered in front of the chief's hut. I flew down and approached them.
When the villagers noticed me, the men's eyes widened in excitement and the females quickly covered the eyes of their children.
I was confused at first, but I immediately noticed that I was still in my underwear. I totally forgot that my clothes got burnt when I took that powerful attack from Aldinach, leaving me in my underwear. I obviously became embarrassed because of this, so I didn't waste time recreating my clothes to cover myself.
After I was done, I approached the villagers, who made way for me to enter the hut while bowing their heads as if I was some kind of god to them.
I didn't like that kind of attention one bit, but I endured it because I was worried due to not seeing Dora anywhere in the village.
I entered the hut and saw a scene that shocked me. Dora was lying down on a mat in her underwear, which was stained with blood, with two women cleaning her body with a white rag and a bowl of water. Her body was covered in wounds, but the most severe was the deep stab wound in her right breast and the stab wound on her left leg. I couldn't see it clearly, but there was a deep slash wound on her back too.
I was shocked and scared when I saw the state Dora was in. She was lying down on that mat as if she were a corpse, with her body looking extremely pale. I rushed to her side and immediately hugged Dora's wounded body to myself and cried. Seeing her like this brought back the image of my mother's dead body, which I tried to forget.
I immediately asked what happened and was told that she fought the other tin demon in a death fight after I went to fight Aldinach. The two women told me that she barely survived that fight, but she won in the end.
I was sad to hear that Dora fought a death battle with that tin demon whom I foolishly left behind to fight Aldinach. My inexperience in assessing the situation almost made me lose Dora. I hated myself for leaving that demon to Dora, but I was glad that Dora was able to fight and win against that demon.
Not wasting any time, I sat down behind Dora with my legs spread. I brought Dora's body closer in-between my legs with her back facing me. I gently caressed her to myself while I began to emit powerful healing magic from my body. In a speed visible to the eyes, Dora's wounds began to close, and her pale color began to subside.
I was glad when I saw that her breathing had returned to normal, but I didn't let her go.
Meanwhile, the two women along with the village people who were outside were looking at me with reverence. I paid them no mind and simply held Dora's body closer to myself. The villagers wisely left to give me and Dora some space together.
After some minutes, Dora's body twitched and she slowly opened her eyes. She looked confused for some time, but she soon realized that I was holding her from behind.
Dora leaned her head to my breast, but I didn't mind it at the moment.
"What happened, Lili?"
"You lost consciousness after your fight with that demon. Luckily, I returned on time after my fight with my own demon and healed you,"
I said all that in one breath. I was just so relieved that she was awake.
Dora closed her eyes while still leaning on my breast. "I guess I still need more training for the future battles. That demon was very strong, and I honestly won because he overestimated his skills. I must look pathetic right now to you,"
I didn't like how Dora called herself pathetic. I hugged her a little tighter to myself.
"You are not pathetic, Dora. You are actually very beautiful to me. You challenged a demon who has more skills and experience than you and won. No one will ever think you are pathetic, especially me. I should apologize to you. Even though I promised to always protect you, I still allowed you to get injured because of my negligence. Please forgive me,"
I said that while putting my head on Dora's shoulder.
Dora opened her eyes and chuckled. "My sweet Lili, what are you talking about? There is nothing for me to forgive because you did nothing wrong. I faced that demon knowing what might happen because I didn't want to always be behind you in the future,"
"What do you mean behind me?"
I was obviously confused on what Dora meant, but she just closed her eyes again and made herself comfortable on my breast.
"My sweet Lili, you are in another dimension compared to everyone I know. Your powers make you stand at a peak that I can never climb no matter what. If I always rely on you for everything in the future, I'm sure that you will drift away from me in no time. I want us to always be together, and to do that, I have to at least be strong enough to stand side by side with you,"
"Really!? I want to always be together with you as well, Dora,"
"You sure about that, Lili? I can be a handful, you know,"
"I don't care..." I hugged her to convey my feelings to her. "I can never picture myself with someone else besides you, Dora. What do you say we go back to the city and have lots of adventures together? Let's make lots of memories with just us two,"
Dora blushed after hearing what I said. She chuckled again. "You know, Lili, this sounds like you are confessing your feelings to me,"
I deadpanned at her. "Way to ruin the mood, Dora,"
"No, I'm serious. The way you caress my body to yourself and declare your undying love for me. This is like something you will find in a romance novel,"
I was embarrassed for her pointing that out to me, but I couldn't deny her claims.
"You keeping quiet means I'm right. Are you in love with me, my sweet Lili?"
"As if..."
I wouldn't deny that I have feelings for Dora, who was the first female I met after everything that happened to me, but I don't know if it is love yet. Maybe in time, I will fall in love with her.
Dora gave me a very beautiful smile that took my breath away. "Well, I wouldn't mind dating you. I already claimed you when we first met,"
I blushed hearing how she said she claimed me but I suppressed it. "If you are feeling better, then we should go and meet the chief and the villagers. They are waiting for us outside the hut,"
"Yeah, let's go,"
I stood up and helped Dora up before we left the hut to see the chief and the villagers waiting for us.
When the chief saw us, he bowed his head. "Thank you so much for saving our little village from the Direwolfs and the demons,"
I nodded to him. "Don't mention it, chief. I'm just glad that your village and its people are alright,"
The chief looked up at us with great reverence. "If you two don't mind, why don't you stay so that we will hold a small celebration for the two of you,"
"Do not trouble yourself. I and my partner really have to get going. Who knows, when next we come here you can have that party for us,"
The chief looked saddened, but he nodded. "If you insist, then I won't force you,"
I nodded to him and carried Dora in a bridal way. She blushed but still put her hand around my neck. The villagers who saw us began to give us smiles, with some of the girls winking at us.
I was a little embarrassed, but I didn't let go of Dora. I immediately flew up above the village and began to fly back to the city of Mufti.
"I guess we will put this in our future memory album as our first completed mission together,"
Dora told me with a smile. I smiled back at her.
"You are right, and we will have a lot of completed missions in the future together,"
"I look forward to it then,"
We both smiled as we flew back to the city of Mufti.
