3rd POV
Lilia and Dora descended to the 16th floor and looked around the room. The room was very big and spacious with many pillars supporting it. The pillars had a snake design, and the room was lit by fire torches on the walls. Even with all that space, not a single monster could be found there.
Dora looked around in confusion.
"Where are all the monsters? I thought strong monsters were everywhere on the 16th floor!"
As Dora asked this, Lilia immediately turned around in a hurry, carrying Dora in her arms and jumped away from the entrance of the 16th floor.
Dora was shocked and confused about why Lilia would carry her and jump away, but she had her answer when she saw the ground of the place they were standing before break into pieces, causing a huge cloud of dust to appear.
"It seems that giant snake is using some kind of concealing magic which makes it impossible to detect. Luckily I'm here, or things would have been bad,"
Lilia explained to Dora as she landed at a safe distance.
The dust cleared to reveal a giant snake that was so massive that its head was reaching all the way to the roof of the 16th floor. It had wings on its body that resembled dragon wings, and its color was pure red.
Dora looked at the snake in fright. Its size was huge, and Dora could see that she was not even as big as the snake's tooth.
Name: Basilisk
Rank: A+
(A/N: The '+' in the monster rank is used to determine what realm the monster is. A monster that has one '+' means that it is in the middle realm, two '+' means that it is in the Higher realm, three '+' means it is in the upper realm and four '+' means that it is in the master realm)
"Dora, snap out of it and focus," Lilia told the frightened Dora.
Dora snapped out of her trance and nodded at Lilia. "I'm okay now. It was just the first time I've seen a Basilisk before. It is said that about two newly promoted A-rank are required to take it down."
Lilia smiled. "Luckily I'm here."
"Yeah! I am very lucky," Dora agreed with her. "It makes sense why no adventurer was able to advance past the 15th floor if this snake is what they will encounter on the 16th floor."
"It's coming." Lilia pushed Dora out of the way and covered her with a magic barrier.
In the next instant, a river of purple acid poured on Lilia and everything in the vicinity. The Basilisk, thinking that its target was dead, closed its mouth and turned to the floating Dora that was covered in a transparent barrier.
"Where are you looking at?"
The Basilisk immediately turned around and saw something shot out from the river of acid and headed straight for it. It didn't know what it was and immediately turned its body transparent.
Lilia, who was aiming to punch the Basilisk, passed through its body without touching it at all for some reason. This confused her as she landed on the ground behind the Basilisk.
"Lili~chan! The Basilisk is a master of space magic and can fuse its body with space, making material things phase through it," Dora shouted from the air she was still in.
"Good to know!"
Lilia jumped at the Basilisk again with her normal speed, ready to punch it. It may be her normal speed, but it looked like she teleported to the front of the Basilisk from an outside perspective.
The Basilisk barely saw Lilia appear in front of it. It hurriedly opened its mouth and released its acid at Lilia at point-blank hoping that it would kill her.
Lilia, not caring about the acid, punched the Basilisk with her hand covered in faint light magic. The Basilisk used its concealment magic to fuse with space in order to let Lilia's punch phase through it like it did last time.
The acid poured on Lilia as her punch arrived at the head of the Basilisk. Instead of her passing through the Basilisk like it expected, her punch connected and literally blew the head of the Basilisk to pieces. The force of the punch sent shockwaves which destroyed all the pillars of the room and the wall separating the 16th and the 15th floor.
The giant headless body of the Basilisk fell down on the floor which was covered in acid. Lilia saw that the room was shaking due to the pillars having been destroyed by her. She raised her hand and used her magic to create new pillars which supported the roof of the room.
After that, she used levitation magic to levitate the massive body of the Basilisk and stored it into her personal dimension before she flew to Dora.
Dora saw Lilia flying to her and smiled at her. "As strong as always. You killed a monster that would normally take two A-rank in the lower realm to kill with one blow. Your power is beyond nonsensical."
Lilia scratched her head in embarrassment. "What can I say, it was very weak to me."
"Only you will call that monster weak, Lili~chan. So do you want to continue going down or do we go back?"
"We go down, obviously. I'm curious to see what is on the last floor of this Dungeon," Lilia told her in excitement.
And so, both Lilia and Dora began to descend the floors.
At a secret room in the dungeon
A single demon was looking at a screen in front of him with worry. He was given a mission by his master to try and delay the approaching adventurers by any means. He was trying his best to do just that, but nothing seemed to be working.
He has activated all the summoned beasts given to him by his master with the hopes that they will kill the two female adventurers, but it did not work. The other blonde-haired female was not a problem, and while he didn't know who was stronger between him and the girl, he was confident he could win. The problem was the silver white-haired girl with her.
Any monster he sent at her was instantly killed by a single blow from her. He had even sent a swarm of poisonous insects at them, but the silver white-haired girl had simply incinerated them all with her fire magic. The Insect Queen, Basilisk, Minotaur, Dark Golem, Chimera, Sky Sharks, all these he had released on each floor they entered and none of them managed to put even a scratch on them thanks to the silver white-haired girl.
He was a demon of great intellect and he could obviously tell that the girl was not an A-rank human.
"Perhaps she is a newly promoted S-rank human. If that is the case, then we need to inform the demon king about this," The demon said to himself in worry.
He saw on the screen as the two girls were a door away from the last floor of the dungeon where his master was.
"Luckily for me, master's plan is complete. Even if she is a new S-rank of the human realm, she will die by master's hand. I should go and take care of the other girl," The demon said as he left the room.
With Dora and Lilia
Lilia and Dora were both standing in front of a giant double door that was the entrance to the 25th floor, which is the last floor of the dungeon. On their way here, they have encountered many A+, A++ and even A+++ rank monsters which Lilia always one-shotted. It would have been impossible for a single person who is not S-rank to conquer this Dungeon, but it was possible because Lilia's power exceeded S-rank.
Standing in front of the door, Lilia could feel the massive amount of mana being concentrated on the other side of the room. She has never felt mana this massive. Not even the Lightning Eagle which was in the Master realm of A-rank produced mana this massive. This kind of overwhelming mana will make any normal person despair in its presence.
"Dora! Please don't leave my side. What we are about to face is very different from all the things we've encountered on our way here."
Dora, seeing the seriousness on Lilia's face, nodded. "Got it."
Lilia went to the double door and pushed it open. When the door was opened, both Dora and Lilia were shocked by what they saw.
They saw that the room was incredibly spacious with the floor having the design of ancient runes. At the center of the room stood a massive demon with a huge body and Dragon-like horns. The demon was standing beside a glass tube filled with water. Inside the tube was a naked human that looks like a kid of around the age of 8 who was unconscious.
"I've been waiting for your arrival, humans, but you are too late as I have completed my evolution," Belphegor shouted in glee.
Dora felt her knees giving out on her due to the fear she felt when she saw the demon Belphegor. His mana was beyond anything she has ever felt, even greater than the mana she has felt from Lilia when they first met. It was like standing before a deity, and she wet herself due to the fear that overtook her. Words could not describe the mana pouring out from the demon as it is bigger than even the oceans. It felt to Dora that a wave of this demon's hand is enough to destroy several continents. The Duke demon Aldinach whom Lilia defeated looked like an ant compared to this demon before her.
Even with all the mana the demon Belphegor was releasing, Lilia stood proud without an ounce of fear in her. It was as if all that mana were a light breeze to her.
"You are definitely not a demon Duke from the sheer quantity of your mana. You must be a Demon General," Lilia said to him.
Belphegor smirked evilly at her. "Correct, human. I have finally transcended the demon Duke class and have finally reached the pinnacle which is the demon General."
Lilia looked at the person inside the tube. "Who is that person? I can tell the person is not human, but I don't know what the person is."
"It doesn't matter anymore. This trash is a vampire kid with a special blood which greatly helped me in my evolution. Now that I am a Demon General, the kid is useless to me," Belphegor told her.
'I never expected to meet a demon general this early. This is bad. If I fight him, not only this kingdom, but the entire human realm may be destroyed by our clash. I'll need to take this fight somewhere else,' Lilia thought to herself.
Belphegor looked at Lilia with slight confusion. "You are obviously powerful, but still within the realm of the limits of this world. Yet you are not cowering in fear like your friend there. Where is your confidence coming from?"
"My confidence?" Lilia got into a fighting stance. "It's simple really. I just don't feel threatened by you at all."
Saying that, Lilia ran at a speed that is faster than what the lightning eagle could run. Belphegor was shocked by her speed and couldn't react as Lilia punched him in the face and he flew into a spatial portal that opened behind him. Lilia dived into the spatial portal as it closed after her.
Dora was confused and weakly stood up. She looked around the room and couldn't find Lilia or the demon at all. She wondered what happened because she couldn't see anything due to the speed Lilia used.
As she was standing in the room, she felt teleportation magic being used and a demon wearing a white lab coat appearing in the room.
Dora got into her stance and faced the new demon. "This seriously feels like déjà vu!"
