Chapter 16 - She is changing

Aurora.

I woke up with a heavy headache. My vision was blurry and I didn't feel so comfortable. I sat up and held my head in place so I didn't fall. What happened to me?

I looked around, trees…leaves…forest. I was in the woods lying on the ground but that wasn't the worst part of it. I was naked.

It took a while to realize how open the surrounding was and anyone could walk by any minute. I stood up and surveyed what was wrong. I felt mad, insane…how did I get here?

I stood up immediately and ran back home. Thankfully Mom wasn't home. I stood in front of the dresser and thought for a while. My body was rough like I had been running around the woods naked. I was bruised…dirty and I had blood on me.

"What the fuck is wrong with me? Was I kidnapped?" Or I went mad and ran around the woods naked last night. I had no alcohol in my house so it wasn't possible that I was drunk and I have no memories of how I got to where I found myself.

I looked around. It's five in the afternoon. I had missed a lot of calls from Mr Frostbite. I should let him know about this, he always has answers. Now that he was my boyfriend, it makes everything all better.

I took my bath, endured all the little pain that stung my body and searched my closet for a dress. I found a lime-free dress that didn't stick too much on my body. It was perfect…didn't come in contact with my body too much.

When I got to the company, my cheeks turned red from the thoughts of the night before. Of course, the old people won't understand so it was pretty nice to express my love openly.

When I got to his office, he was talking to a young man. "Ha, there you are. I have been waiting for years," Mr Frostbite said and gestured to me to come peck his cheek by pressing his index finger on his lips.

I smirked and went to peck his cheeks. I could a good picture of the man in front of him. The way he looked at me…the way he looked like Trevor, someone I met in my younger years when I was probably fifteen. He saved me from a vigorous fight but I wasn't too sure. It can't be him.

"You know him?" Mr Frostbite asked me. I blinked and looked at him. "I'm not so sure."

The man smiled and exchanged glances with Mr Frostbite. He then smiled and looked at me. "So that is it. You don't need to worry. You don't know him."

I nodded, wondering how he knew I was thinking about the man in front of him. The man didn't bother talking to me or shaking my hand or anything and there was also no introduction. I sighed and went to my seat. He is probably one of his business partners but none of them has come here…ever.

I glanced back at the man. He had red hair…his neck and jaw… firm. The Trevor I met at that time also had the same body shape but his hair was black.

I focused on the work I had to do. A bunch. Most of the files on my table were contracts that had been left untouched. Lina, the receptionist walked into the office with a brown file in her arms. She discussed some things with Mr Frostbite and also spoke to the other man before directing a smile to my table.

I smiled back and pretended to be going through so many files. "Would you like a hand?" She said walking down to my table. Lina, as old as she may look, has a very good taste when it comes to dresses. She dresses like a Gen Z, top-notch.

"No, I am okay Lina."

"I was just discussing with the boss that he needs to travel down to attend to some situations in the branches. Please keep it in mind. You should be leaving in a week."

She straightened up and smiled. "You are doing a great job."

When Lina left, my body changed. Somehow, I felt differently. I looked around like I was going to fall. "…if she knows who you are then things would get messed up. She would have to get out of here before things get worse. Honestly, I think she would die. She has been attacked by rogues before and that's not a good thing. The scar healed and she is probably dying inside." The voice was loud like it was being spoken in my ears and they belonged to the other man, not my boyfriend.

I looked at the table where the both of them were speaking. It should be impossible for me to hear them so clearly. I stood up swiftly as the voice continued. The person who owned the voice had not opened his lips even once, yet could hear him loud and clear.

"What is it?" The voice said, louder than the first time.

"Nothing," I said and took a step back. They both looked back at me and then exchanged glances. "What is wrong with you Aurora?" Mr Frostbite asked.

"I don't know," I cried and kept walking backwards. That had to be the scariest thing that has happened to me. It was his voice, I was sure of it and they spoke about my scar…something was wrong, seriously wrong.

"I am not okay. I think I am drugged. I am hearing things now. I don't know what is going on in my head but it is messing things up for me. I can't think…I can only listen. I—"

Mr Frostbite held my hands and stared daggers into my eyes like I had something of his with me. My heart skipped a beat. "You are hearing his thoughts?" He asked.

I yanked my hands away. "What is that supposed to mean?"

He twitched his face and banged the wall with his hand. "She's turning. What the fuck! Not now! No no no…"

"What do you mean I am turning?"

"Hush!" He yelled and I lept. "Not a word Aur
