Maybe I can trust her?, I haven't told daddy yet so how can I possibly trust her.
Fay paused after that remark, she was unsure of what to say next but then she asked "are you new to your school?"
Mira didn't reply but fay knew it was a no judging by the left-right movement of her head. Fay smiled, this would mean that charismatic Mira here is a shy type.
"It's okay if you can't make friends, I'll help you with some tips. Have you ever tried to speak to anyone at school?" Fay asked her while tying a pink ribbon on each pigtail.
"They won't pay attention to me" she said, her tone was rather forceful.
"And why is that" fay asked her wondering what the problem could've been.
"They're all too busy being friends with Stacy" she replied with a hmph while sitting back down beside fay.
Unbelievable, is she jealous?. "Who's Stacy?" Fay said almost laughing but she held herself, kids drama.
Mira folded her hand in a fuss "her family is wealthy but mine's wealthier but everyone wants to be friends with her and not me, I don't like her. at. all" Mira pouted.
Fay didn't put much thought to it "okay.....I'll give you an assignment"
Mira looked at fay in a questioning manner
"An assignment?" She asked
"Yes, an assignment. Here's what you'll do, pay close attention to Stacy's behavior around other kids and other kids behavior around Stacy. Don't make it know to them though and report back to me if you can tomorrow. Then I'll tell you why you have no friends yet"
Mira nodded slowly, repeating the 'assignment' in her head.
That's when the sun slowly rose from it's resting place but this time Mira wasn't too engulfed by the natural beauty of the sun, her focus was on the lady on her left.
Her skin glowed and her eyeslashes fluttered in the silent breeze. This lady was breathtakingly beautiful. Maybe, just maybe she's different.
"You can do that right?" Fay asked catching Mira's gaze.
She looked down immediately and nodded.
Fay patted her hair and ruffled it.
At the entrance of the cafe....
Coming out through the front door was a formally dressed man, with a face mask on, with the motive of hiding his identity. Sometimes it can be scary being famous and stuff. With his status and luxurious life style, it won't hurt to be like every other person once in a while.
With a little white bag in his right hand, he used his left to signal dean to bring his beloved daughter back. He watched the woman carefully, the first outsider that Mira actually warmed up to.
He narrowed his gaze. As dean arrives behind them, he watched as his daughter brought the woman into a warm embrace and waved her goodbye. It made his eyes twitch.
Dean carried her into his arms and led them to the car. Once there, dean sat at front to drive while Mira and her dad stayed at the back.
"Nothing suspicious" the man's deep demanding voice echoed
"No sir" dean replied before kicking the engine.
Finally noticing the change on his daughter after handing her her soy milk, his brows creased
"You let her redo your hair" Mr Lee said through gritted teeth
Mira gulped, I totally forgot about that.
"I....uh.....I" she stuttered searching earnestly for an excuse.
He pinched between his brows in frustration "You should have said it was bad beforehand, then I would've taken you to a hair stylist. The idea of letting a stranger touch you is just unacceptable".
Mira sighed in relief but caught her breath at the last part of his sentence.
"I know you mean well for me daddy but she's not a stranger, her names miss fay"
"Still, I won't forgive myself if anything were to happen to you" he said concerned and sighed.
Mira hooked her arm in his and rested the side of her face on his bulging biceps
"Don't worry, nothing will happen".
Dean stared at the lovely two through the rear view mirror. If only things were different.
It all happened 6 years ago when little Mira was still considered as a growing foetus in the womb. Dean was glad he remained loyal thats why he witnessed everything that happened.
The Lees were wealthy as a matter of fact but not as wealthy and well known as they are now. Mr Joshua, formerly known had just taken over the family's enterprise and was running it smoothly.
As fate may have it, he fell deeply in love with a woman of equal status by the name Evie Clair. She was a very classy lady and most times, Joshua would put her first before his work. They loved each other dearly but it was quite unfortunate.
Evie Clair loved his money more. She always looked forward to days like anniversaries, valentines day, her birthday and all that cause then she would be lavished with gifts which she often showed off in front of her friends.
Well,Somethings led to the other and she got pregnant by Joshua. She wasn't particularly happy about it because she was afraid of gaining weight and loosing her fit and sexy body but the attention that came with the pregnancy wasn't at all too bad.
The D-Day came and she gave birth and by the look of the baby, one could tell that Joshua's traits were most dominant. They both thought of a rich and classy names to give their baby but Evie demanded that their child be named after her—evie Lee.
the next months that followed, during evie(Mira's) weening period, the Lees went bankrupt suddenly and their stocks and profit dropped.
They could no longer afford the luxury items they used to and Joshua and his father tried to fix the things that were happening.
Evie found no use living with poor wretch like them who couldn't afford the kind of life she wanted so she left them in search for a better future for herself.
