Chapter 16 - moments before the night of passion

While waiting to hail a cab by the roadside, Lyla leaned and rested her head on fay shoulder and sighed. Ever since the biopsy of growth they conducted her mood has been gloomy.

"Are you going to tell me whats wrong or what" fay asked and felt a slight movement on her shoulder - Lyla shook her head.

"Whenever you're ready, I'm here" fay pat her head and Lyla smiled.

In the next instant, meg parks her bike in front of them startling both women. Lyla was more or less annoyed while fay was completely taken aback.

"Hey" meg greeted after turning off the beasts engine. "How'd you....." Fay asked and meg nodded with a small grin

"I'll tell you a little later". She faced Lyla "you must be Lyla, we've met before right?"

Lyla nodded, only you treated me like I was air last time.

"right, nice to meet you". "same".

"Hop on", meg threw a helmet to fay and she caught it. She made her way to climb on behind while asking "where're we going?"

Once fay was seated, meg answered "remember I said I'll make it up to you, we're just going for a ride". Fay waved Lyla goodbye and they drove off.

It was neither too fast nor too slow, it was perfect with each gush of strong wind making their body shiver. Fay held on tighter to meg's waist seeking warmth amidst the cold air. Sensing this, meg smiled.

After securing the parking space for her bike, they both entered the elevator of an apartment building and rode it to the top. Still inside, fay was urged to ask "what's up there?"

"You'll see...." Meg replied and in doing so, stirred up suspense. One that fay couldn't handle.

Once they got to the top, the elevator opened and meg stepped out. After walking a few steps she realized that fay didn't follow her. She looked back in the elevator, fay just stood there unmoving.

"What's wrong" she asked worried, did fay have a bad memory of the place... she wondered.

"I've never told you this before but.....errr....I'm kinda acrophobic" she said shyly. Meg raised a brow and squinted her eyes, probably wondering what acrophobic meant.

" meg I'm scared of heights" she clarified in between a chuckle.

Meg , after realizing gave fay her hand "it's okay, grab my hand. I'm with you". Although not convinced enough fay still took her hand and let her lead her to the rods used to fence round the top of the roof to prevent anyone from falling over.

"If anything comes up, just squeeze my hand" meg said and fay nodded. As they got closer, meg felt fay's grip grow stronger and tighter.

"Don't look down, look up and ahead" meg adviced and fay did so. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. She adapted pretty quickly.

"It's beautiful up here" fay said in awe. The moon shone bright yes but not as much as the city lights but still its nice to view it all form a different and high perspective.

"Yeah, I come here often in the past when I want to release some steam. Good lonely times". Which meant she wasn't dating anyone then. She brought out a cigarette and a lighter, she popped the cigarette into her mouth and went on to light it up.

Before she could, fay slapped the cigarette from her mouth, surprising meg. They both watched as it fell down to the ground from the high building.

Still surprised and confused, meg asked "what was that for??" , Fay looked back at the well illuminated city, "smoking isn't good for your health you know" she said.

Meg's shoulders rested and she sighed "I forgot I had a doctor on my hands". She smiled and put the lighter and the rest of the cigarettes away.

After a short silence meg began to lament "you take such good care of me and what have I given you in return" she said sadly and a single tear dropped from her eyes. Fay noticed this and used her finger to wipe the tear

"Don't say that meg, you've given me a lot, really a lot" fay cupped her palm around meg's face and they were starring into each other's eyes. "You've given me love and protection, you're there when I need you and you always come up with the best jokes and pickup lines when I'm feeling sad and that's a lot plus you're awesome in bed. I couldn't ask for anything else.".

More tears began to pour out of megs eyes, all this while she thought fay was just tolerating her and keeping her for the sake of not wanting to hurt her feelings. She'll definitely do more for her in the future.

"I didn't say all that so you'd cry meg" fay said as she tried to keep up with the falling tears, she finally wiped them all off.

The air was cool and the atmosphere felt lovely. Meg wrapped her arm around fay's slim waist and drew her in. Their bodies collided and so did their lips. A passionate kiss, where both partners wanted to devour the other in ways only they could think off.

Fay opened up to her and let her tongue explore her mouth. Their tongues tangled and entwined. Fay sighed unknowingly, meg was also an amazing kisser.

Their lips parted. fay looked at Lyla's lustful eyes and smiled. Meg pulled her into a warm embrace.

"Take me home meg" fay whispered to her ears.

Feeling fay's hot breath on her ear, meg felt a shiver down her spine. Both of them had a feeling that tonight wouldn't be like any other night they've spent together.

Meg held her hand and they walked back to the elevator. Meg's hands around fay's waist and fay's hand around meg's neck, they went on smooching.

Half way down, meg recalled something and sighed before opening up "I'll be traveling tomorrow, my parents called, there's something urgent I need to handle at home".
