The syringe was used to draw out the anaesthetics. Fay was preparing to give him a shot.
"I know I'm sick but I'm scared of needles" the boys soft subtle voice whispered
Fay and Lyla exchanged glances and looked back at the boy, both their hearts warmed up and they smiled.
"You're a brave boy Anderson, do you know why?" Lyla asked and poked his little nose. He shook his head. "Accepting ones weakness is the first step to being courageous...and the next step is overcoming that weakness".
Anderson averted his eyes from the beautiful doctor to the ceiling above them. He was flustered.
"I don't think he understood that Lyla" fay commented as she watched the boy eyes wander around the ceiling.
"I think he did". Lyla took Anderson's chubby fingers and rubbed it gently "just keep your eyes on me okay?, It'll only hurt a bit" he nodded slowly.
As the needle made its way into his soft delicate skin, he shut his eyes tightly and exhaled slowly after it was over.
"You know your numbers 123 right?" Lyla asked and he nodded. "Let's count together!"
The little boys eye lids were suddenly feeble and tired but he struggled to keep them open. Making him count would divert his focus and concentration from opening his eyes to saying the numbers in a correct order.
Although Lyla had said 'lets count together ' she stopped at number 3 and let him finish the rest....
"4"
"5,6,7"
"8,9...zzz". He finally shot his eyes and fell to the will of the anaesthetics.
"He's a smart kid" fay ruffled his hair. The atmoaphere became rather different and oddly quiet after he had gone to sleep.
Layla stared at his resting face and sighed,
"Lyla! You're crying" fay exclaimed. Lyla reached up to her eyes and wipe her tears.
"What's wrong", fay asked but she just shoke her head.
In the next moment, Andersons bed was taken into the OR (operating room) for the biopsy surgery which was conducted by Lyla and fay with some assisting nurses.
Few hours later, in the lobby....
Fay approached a woman pacing back and forth, she was restless. Her child was been operated on and it's been hours already. There were Myriad of thoughts flowing in her head which 75% were negative thoughts.
The moment she sees the doctor approaching her, she rushed to her "wh...what happened?, why did it take so long? Is my baby okay? Tell me there's no bad news." The woman was at the verge of grabbing fay by the collar.
"Calm down Mrs peike there's no bad news, Anderson is doing okay and we're just waiting for his anaesthetics to wear off. As for why we delayed? Your son has a lot of fat in him so getting through the skin and all that fat was kinda tough" fay ran her fingers through her hair and sighed "but it was successful ".
The lady smiled widely and began to tear up "sniff...can I go and see him?" She asked and fay gave way for her and she lept away happily.
To fay, the best part of the job was bringing the good news to the awaiting family and watch them hurry away happily. It was the best feeling —the feeling of a job well done.
Fay and Lyla stand afar and watched as Mrs peike rubbed herself all over her son who was already suffocating in her embrace, Lyla giggled
"You know?, That saying is true 'you wont know what you've got till you loose it eventually " . Fay hummed in response.

The sun rays streamed through the window, casting a warm glow in the classroom. The after school bell rang repeatedly, informing the teachers that they ought round up their lessons.
Mira silently packed her backpack and was preparing to leave when miss Sharona approached her with the warmest of all smiles. It was enchanting and heart warming.
"You did absolutely well today little miss Lee" she complimented. Mira looked up at her with a frown on her face and asked in a rather frustrated tone
"What now?"
Sharona's lips twitched, but only slightly. She had to maintain this nice face if she wants to win the little brat over. "Nothing much dear. I'll walk you to the gate. Come now".
"My dad isn't picking me up today" she replied harshly, hung her bag and headed for the door. Sharona stood and watched her back. Her fists tightened and her former smile disappeared.
If only she could be more like Stacy whos loving and open. I'll do something, I must meet with her father, how else is he supposed to know the kind of a worthy mother and wife I am.
Mira sighed softly as she made her way to the gate through the hall way. Her path is blocked by Stacy and two other girls- her little dumb minions.
Mira frowns. "Do you need something ms dobers" she asked formerly.
"No, no nothing I just want to give you a little advice, you know, as friends" Stacy stated hands akimbo. Mira's frown deepened.
"You should smile more" Stacy said and pinched Mira cheeks with both her hands "you're little miss Lee after all". This act had the other two girls dumbstrucked with their eyes wide open.
Disgust was written all over Mira's face, she glared at her. Stacy turned around and walked away proudly. Mira was fuming.
The other two girls exchanged looks as they walked away behind Stacy. Stacy had initially told them that they should follow her to see another class mate which they did but it turned out to be Mira. It was quite a moment of shock for them.
"You see girls there's no need to fear her". Said Stacy with a cunning smile.
True but who would dare though.
Mira sited someone familiar from far away standing by the gate, her heart began to beat roughly and she increased her steps. Once the woman in her late forties saw Mira she opened her arms widely and let the little lady run into her warm fuzzy embrace.
"Sela" Mira called out softly whilst the hug.
