Aldin Randell
My parents came over to see who was at the door.
"Adil, what brings you here," Dad said in a venomous tone, I could sense the tension in the air and also sense my mother's annoyance with the man in front of us.
"The new count has sent me over and invited all of you for a meal at his residence'" the man said.
"We will be out in a minute," Dad said and closed the door.
"Aldin could you do your mommy and daddy a favour," Mom said.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Make us glamorous clothes, like the ones you were wearing when we got here," Mom said.
"Okay," I said and she rushed to her room, she came back with several clothes that seemed worn out.
In a few seconds, I did my magic and made my father a great suit that was white in colour with golden edges as for my mother I made her a flowing sky blue flowing dress with black patterns on it, as for me I had black attire on with a shade of yellow to it.
We walked out and there, the butler was still waiting for us and since I did not want to ride the whole carriage ride with the smell of piss and sweat to accompany me I cleaned him up for my sake.
We got into the carriage and the butler sat outside instead of joining us inside. We headed to the castle. I looked better than the former Ereel castle, probably because this was a count's residency.
When they got out they were welcomed by the maids and knights of the count. As we walked by them into the castle I could smell a combination of sweat and piss coming from them, similar to how the butler was.
'What did my parents do to make them so afraid,'
When we got to the door, Ariz was there waiting for us.
"Welcome," Ariz said greeting me.
'At least someone is paying attention to the child in the room.
"Thank you," I said.
"Follow me this way," Ariz said.
He walked us to his dining hall.
The maids sat us in, I was placed right next to the count while my parents were placed on the other side, as the maid was sitting me in I noted that she was trembling a lot.
Once we were seated our meals were brought to us, again the maid who brought my plate was shaking, the plate in her hand was jiggling and was about to fall to the ground but using a light construct I was able to stop it from falling and brought it to my table, the maid continued shaking before falling down. Others came to help her stand up and carried her away.
"What did you possibly do that makes them so frightened?" I asked.
"I think you have one thing wrong," Mom said.
"They are not afraid of us but you," Dad said.
"What do you mean," I asked confused.
"Your master is the third tower master and he treasures you, and you casually speak to a tower master," Dad said.
"But I don't get it, I never threatened anyone nor am I that scary," Aldin said again.
"Well, tower masters have power similar to the king and you being very close to him makes you as powerful as him," My mother said.
It now hit me, none of the others were as frightened as those around me.
"Ohh," I said in reaction.
"Now that that is settled, why did you invite us," Dad asked.
"Oh yes, about that, I wanted to make a proposal to Aldin," Ariz said.
"And what is it?" I asked.
"Well, my men lack proper armour and I wanted to commission you to do that for me and as payment your family could have their own private residence," Ariz said.
What followed was dead silence, I looked to my parents for a response, and we stood there until my mother spoke up.
"I am sorry but we have to decline," my mother said.
"I understand," Ariz said, a little down.
"Not for the reasons you think, I am confident In ALdin being able to make armour good enough for your men but I do not like the responsibility it gives us, I believe you understand what I mean when I say that, If we get involved with nobility we will be forced to attend events and the like, I am not sure I want that for my family," Mum said.
"That can be taken care of, you don't necessarily have to stay within the city, you could as well stay in a secluded area in the woods, even next to the beast I am sure you would all be safe," Ariz said.
"If you put it that way we won't deny it, but please make it as private as possible," Mum said.
"Then we should fence it and put a portrait of Aldin around it, that way nobody will come close to it," Dad said, he meant it as a joke but I now realized how terrifying I was.
"Then can I get somewhere to do my experiments?" I asked.
"What experiments?" My mother asked.
"There are a few things I wanted to work on that I feel could use some work," I said.
"Could you give me details on that," Dad asked.
"I need a space to store my alchemy ingredients and a workspace for them, I have been slacking off a lot and also my arrays are not up to where I would like them to be, I would also not like to forget there are some things that I need to work on for my attributes," I said remembering that since I could use will now, may I would be able to separate earth.
"That will mean I'll have to outsource someone capable of doing all that work but I'll cover it," Ariz said.
"No need to worry I can handle it myself, I am very good at using the earth attribute," I said.
Ariz
After Aldin gave me the armour I tried carrying it and flying to the city but it weighed too much so I had to use more mana to get it there and the extra man was more than I needed to make myself fly.
I handed over the armour and whip to Sylvia Randell who was extremely happy to get it.
"But won't it be too heavy to carry in battle?" I asked her.
"Well, then I'll have to get enough strength to carry it, this amour is like a fortress, it's impenetrable," she said.
"What?" I asked, rather than giving me an explanation she used her magic to take out the whole armour and after shoving for some space she fired a strong spell at it, several attacks later we walked to it and she wiped it to find the surface not even grazed.
"That is what I mean," She said. "The armour he makes is extremely stable and even stronger and I won't even try out the whip, I wouldn't want to wipe out a portion of the city."
"I headed back to my castle and dealt with my duties but the armour was still on my mind, I made the decision to invite the Randells over for dinner and share my idea with them.
I called in my aid and asked him to invite the Randells, he asked several times to confirm whether I was talking about, 'the Randells'. After confirming several times I snapped and made him go there.
They came in wonderfully dressed, more than I would have ever expected.
We sat down with them for dinner and as the first course was served I soon realised how scary of an individual Aldin was, and right now he was telling me how efficient he was at construction.
'If I let him build it I would not have helped him in any way, I needed a way to repay him,'
As I was thinking through when an idea came into my mind.
"Okay, and since you will be doing all the work, I will get you furnishing for the house and I will seclude a suitable area for you. And on top of that I will get you the best alchemy materials I can get and blueprints for arrays that are very good on your behalf," I said "I know even the third tower can get you all this, but at least let me help you in some way,"
"Okay," Aldin said.
"Then agreed, we can even begin tomorrow," I said and we took a taste of the soup but it was way too cold, I wanted to call over a maid to take it back to the kitchen and get it reheated but Aldin stopped me.
"No need," He said and seconds later the soup had magically become hot again.
Throughout the dinner, we enjoyed the meals together, and we chatted in between.
