The day of her birth, she cried and almost stopped as soon as she heard a second one soon after. She cannot see but hear many cheers.
After things have calmed down, she slowly opened her eyes to see another baby and looked at her hand to see a birthmark which is shaped like a bud and then at her own after struggling to move her hand which has the same birthmark. The baby next to her is thankfully asleep and has a bit of dark baby hair.
According to the manga, babies born in the Anthos family are born with a birthmark of a bud on their hand and after a ceremony, it will begin to bloom into a flower or any other plant of their namesake.
Despite Aron being a member of the Anthos family, he doesn't possess the birthmark and thus is not initially recognized as Violet's son until he has shown the purification ability he inherited from her. The reason for that is because he is illegitimate. Illegitimate children do not have the birthmark hence do not have the right to carry the name.
The baby next to her started crying loudly. The sudden sound made her jolt.
She then tried to move away from the sound but failed miserably as she is still just a newborn struggling to move. Then the nanny approach the crib to see what's wrong and took the baby away.
That little one next to her is her twin sister. In the manga flashback of Aron's maternal grandfather, he and his wife loved their daughter even after being missing. He acknowledged Aron the moment he sees the faint resemblance of his daughter in him despite the protest of many who don't believe him. It is revealed that Violet had a twin sister who died of an illness. Since then, Violet has lived a relatively sheltered life until she became a student and joined high society quite late which could explain her naivety.
Before she knew it, there are people looking at her. There was a woman with Indigo hair and green eyes sitting at a bed and a man with long laurel colored hair and violet eyes.
"She's quite the quiet one, isn't she?" the man said.
She remembers his scent. That is her father in this world.
"She looks just like you. She's gonna look as handsome like her father." her mother mused.
The man blushed in response and tried to hide it. "Well, she is pretty cute."
"I can't wait for the naming ceremony. She has the appearance of a person with a rose name."
"Really? I think a flower with a gradient color palette would be better." her father softly protest.
As she watched her parents discuss things with her, her tiny hand grasp her father's finger.
"Oh my! Look! Our eldest child is holding on to your finger!" Her mother shrieks with joy.
Then her father held her up in his arms. "Little one. I can't wait til I call you by your name."
The newborn is confused and blinked at her father as she inadvertently kept grasping her father's finger.
As if he noticed her confusion, he spoke, "When you turn three months old, there is a ceremony where every member of our family will show up. You will have many treats, loving family members and there will be lots of plants and toys. The plant you choose first will be your name."
The little girl noticed her father's bare hand with the birthmark. It is shaped like a branch stemmed with many oval shaped leaves.
Noticing his daughter's curiosity, he showed his hand to her. "My name is Rowan." he says. "This is a rowan branch."
Then she heard a coo and struggled to move her head just to see the nanny come back. Upon noticing the masters, she curtsied. "The young lady just finished feeding."
"Excellent, now you must feed the elder one too." the father said before she was taken away from his arms. It looks though that he is reluctant to do so because his face grimaced with a bit of sadness unwilling to part with his daughter.
"It's only for a moment, dear. She will come back."
She then looked as her father being the doting dad he is then focuses his attention on her twin as she is put back in her crib.
The next few months are boring with only her twin sister as her only source of entertainment. But like all babies, they cry, smell and make noises. She also has not heard from the god who sent her to this world. Why at their infancy specifically? Nothing really happens at this time. It looks like her twin is getting overly attached to her even more than their own parents because she cries when she's not around or somehow has a sixth sense when she's too far.
The babies were on the ground playing with toys under the nannies supervision. While the younger twin is playing happily with her toy, the older one silently picked up a baby rattle. It is a typical wooden baby rattle with silver bells.
Violet's technique requires her to use her purification powers to purify the dark energy that makes any place habitable for monsters. To strengthen and practice her technique, Violet learns how to sing and dance. One of the things that Aron learned from her is her grand scale purification dance. Apparently, she made it up and it can purify anything on a grand scale. She uses bells and staves to help activate her technique. In the story, people with special powers often develop these abilities up until they turn six years old.
She then look at her toy and shook it only to be surprised that the bells just dropped out of the rattle, unattached.
"Oh my," her nurse says and quickly gathers the bells in her hands, "How did you break this? This toy must be of terrible quality." she then puts it away but not before noticing the child's fixation on them. She then placed the bells in front of her. "Alright, just this once."
The baby was confused. She looked at the rattle. There is no opening to get the bells out and even if it is possible, a three month old baby like her doesn't have the strength to. She then pat her hand hard on the ground. Nothing. The nursemaid looked away for a moment and she decides to take advantage of her not noticing the bells. She hits one with a rattle and it reattached itself and after hitting it again, all six bells are attached to the wooden rattle.
What is this?
She continued to stare at the rattle. What did I just do?
"Do you like it?"
She then starts looking around. It has been months since she heard that voice.
"This is my gift to you. You are your own person so naturally you get your own original set of powers."
What is it?
"I would wish that you would figure it out yourself later but what did you think?"
I separated metal and wood and I can put it back together.
"Correct. It is called Construction and Decontruction. You can put things together but you can separate them. Technically in this story, you aren't supposed to get your powers until you turn six. But since you are not actually six on the inside, you got it."
Why?
"Why I gave it to you? Because I expect much more from you than you'd think. You have a hidden creative side. Just having Violet's purification power is not good enough for someone like you. Of course my favor will stop at this point— well, not exactly. There is one more but I'll wait until you are a bit older."
Isn't it dangerous? It is already rare for a person to have more than one power. Only Aron, Rufus and that one other villain has it.
"It is but I'm pretty sure that you can pretty much make some use for it without causing problems, right?"
She was unresponsive but deep in thought as the nursemaid was so confused upon noticing the rattle though she thankfully dismissed it then she and her sister were taken for nap time.
*
She woke up with her sister sleeping right next to her. Then she noticed something strange as her sister was struggling to breathe. She moved her hand to her head. She has a high fever. Not knowing what else to do other than cry, she cried as loud as she could.
"WWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
That should be enough to wake everyone up.
After hearing the sound of running feet, the nurse looked to see what's wrong and after attempting to pick her up, she slapped her hand and with her other hand, grabbed her sister's hand. Upon noticing her, she touched her head and picked her up to take her away. Another nurse then picked her up.
"Young lady, you cried because of your sister, right? You are a good big sister." she cooed.
She heard a commotion. It seems she might have saved her twin's life that night.
