After getting back to the mansion, the first thing she did is to take Alina to the servant's quarters where she would be treated.
The guards carried Alina like she is a prisoner to be dragged to be executed.
Amy looked at the guards with an unimpressed look. "Carry her as if she is a patient, not a prisoner."
The guards obeyed and she is now carried like she is a child.
She passed out immediately in his arms.
"Go inside, mother. I want to treat this girl."
Her mother stared at Alina worriedly. "If anything happens, don't hesitate to call."
"I will be alright." she smiled.
"Can I come?" Viola asked.
"No," their mother replied. "You still haven't finished your homework."
"I can do it later, please~" she begged.
"No means no. You already said that before you went to Grandpa Ole's house." she said. "You can meet your sister later."
As her mother and sister left, she and a few servants dash somewhere else. They all quickly head to an unused servant's room where she is placed on the bed.
Amy froze for a bit. Her first thought is to call for a doctor but she realized that she needs to minimize the number of people to see her. So far, the servants wouldn't be able to recognize her as a barbarian. The less eyes, the better.
Amy touched her forehead. Alina is slightly malnourished, feverish and is covered in injuries, both new and old but her people are strong and she's not in critical condition so a doctor is not necessary. Amy can see that everyone is way too scared to even get near her. Anyone with unknown origins are infamous even in Solin.
She grit her teeth and turn to the servants who are just standing by from a distance. The look of fear is obvious. "Don't just stand there. Get me clean water, bandages, medicine for both her wounds and her fever, and clothes. I will treat her myself. And don't you dare spread the word out."
"Yes, my lady!" Two of them said and ran off.
She realized that her adult side is showing. No matter. She always comes out as quiet and mature for her age. She can just say that she read a lot of books and studied a lot as an excuse.
After the items arrived, she cleaned her up, treated her and changed her clothes. While she is treating her, she has tried to recall her character in the story as well as Karok's background.
Anyone can use magic in this world with assistance from mana stones, blessings and magic infused items but innate magical abilities in the Story of Aron is based on bloodlines and the origin of that came from their progenitor who is either an angel or a demon. The background of this is that angels and demons are two races that hate each other and go to war for millennia to the point of extinction. To preserve their species, they came to earth and mated with humans and every single one of their descendants began to develop abilities as well as the ability to utilize magic without any assistance. Many years have passed and Angels and Demons dissolve into legend and folktale. There hasn't been any sightings in years and are presumably now completely extinct after using their offspring to fight their war for them.
Angels in this world are revered and many noble houses with magic have claimed to be descended from angels and most of their magic ends up being in the strong, good affinity. But only a few families are actually confirmed to be descended from angels. One of them is the House of Rex which is the Royal house of Solin and the House of Anthos since she and Viola got purification abilities. There are a few more in Solin but Amy doesn't know all of them yet. Hekaton is reputable for claiming to be the most holy kingdom because they revere angels and denounce demons the most out of the five kingdoms in addition to having the most angel-human descendants in their population although that was revealed to be false in the story.
Demons in this world are generally feared and hated because of their mostly malevolent nature and for being the main cause of suffering towards humanity which is mainly for their creation of monsters that continue to terrorize the land except Damat who tolerates them and Solin who welcomes anyone.
Of course, it created discrimination because no one can truly tell who is a descendant of an angel or a demon since they all look pretty much the same considering they are still at the base, human. But they can pretty much tell by their family, bloodline and their power affinity but even that isn't quite as reliable.
For example, House Valerian in which Rufus descends from is initially believed to be of demon heritage because of Rufus. But that is quite the opposite. Rufus's ability may have a darkening nature but it ironically is an angel's affinity. It is because of Rufus's betrayal that people began to believe that his family are descended from demons. Many of those from demonic origins are generally misunderstood and unjustly criticized with only one exception; the Cambion, the true demon.
Another family that are confirmed to be descended from demons are the barbarian tribes, chased away from their oppressors where they belong in no country to call their home. Karok is the only nation in the world to have a royal family confirmed to be descended from demonic nature. Even Damat doesn't deal much with them as they do not wish to deal with their political rival; Getel.
Amy looked at the barbarian princess with pity in her eyes as she cleaned up the items. The servants and guard stood by. Amy insists on staying by her side until she wakes up.
Alina is the future barbarian matriarch who becomes queen after uniting all the tribes and proclaimed her own nation and independence after overthrowing Getel. She had believed Rufus as he had solved her problems as well as acknowledge the new nation; Karok thus gaining her trust. Alina fell in love with Rufus due to his strong power and seemingly charismatic and kind nature which turns out to be a ruse to control all the powerful monsters in her territory. She was then killed by Rufus who then pinned her death on Aron in order to have Karok's support. Things went from bad to worse when the barbarian tribes then went against Solin which ends up with Karok's total annihilation and restoring the old monarchy under Rufus's control while collecting any remnants into his own army spewed with lies.
Aron grew up around abusive and terrible people and lacks love in his life and as a result, he lacks empathy and patience towards people and believes that kindness always comes with a price. So, it comes as a surprise to the readers that this is one of the few times he felt complete disgust and guilt for what he has done. Aron was revered by the people for the credit of assassinating the demon queen even though it is not his doing. Rufus's cruel side is a cold, hard lesson to the readers to the dark side of the masses. Aron is of no doubt not a saint in his story, but he doesn't wish to take credit for mass genocide.
This is one of the arcs that got people upset as many favorite characters had died and it isn't even the last arc. Alina's life is literally going to change the balance of the story. If she plays her cards right, she and Aron will become acquainted and actually work together against the Cambion.
"Ugh" then the girl got up alerting everyone. Her head, arms, legs and torso are covered in bandages and there are some bruises as well. Despite also being a child, she is quite tall for her age.
"Um, Hello! I help." Amy says in a terrible White wolf tribal accent while using their sign of friendship. Her proficiency in the language is also pretty poor due to lack of knowledge of the White wolf tribe in Solin.
The girl blankly stared at Amaryllis before laughing weakly.
"You do not need to worry. I know the tongue of your people." She said. "I am surprised to know you even know a little of my mother tongue." Alina said. Her accent is thick, but it is still comprehendible.
Of course, I know! Amy thought embarrassingly. Even when I learned it, barbarian language is not well known even in these parts and in the manga I read, the language is basically just my language but in a different font.
