Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Share The Same Room

"Come on," Cole beckoned to her and she smiled before getting down from the bed.

Because she was still dressed in her wedding dress, she felt really heavy and she almost stumbled but Cole was quick to catch her.

"Be careful, I will inform the maids to get you new clothes, the wedding dress does fit you actually," he complimented and she nodded, howbeit shyly.

"You need to eat," he said to her as he directed toward an area in the room which had already been turned into a mini dining room..

"Please have a seat," he pulled out the chair like the gentleman he was and she chuckled. This was actually more fun than she expected and it was better if she began getting used to it. Probably, it won't be as bad as she expected.

Cole also took a seat as he opened the dishes. She was stunned on seeing the dishes on the table. She wasn't expecting the dishes on the table.

"This?" She asked while pointing towards the table.

"Do you like it?" Cole asked as he stared at her with expectation in his eyes.

"These are all my favorite, how did you know about them?" Kaia asked as she looked at the dishes while her heart felt warm.

"I know they are your favorites, I'm just happy your taste hasn't changed," Cole didn't answer but he reiterated her question and she stared at him.

"How? Are you my stalker?" Kaia inquired and of course, it sounded really funny to Cole's ears.

"Of course not, we have...," he paused immediately. It wasn't the right time to tell her.

"Go on," Kaia sensed his reluctance to speak and she tried to get the information out of him.

"You will find out soon, just have lunch, I'm sure you haven't had a good meal in a while," Cole wasn't ready to fall for what she asked of him.

Kaia might be smart but Cole was smarter and every one of his moves were calculated.

"Fine, if you don't want to tell me, then I will forget about it," Kaia said with a disappointed look.

"Listen Kaia, it doesn't mean I don't want to tell you but if I do tell you, it might affect you mentally and I will not be at peace once it happens," Cole explained to her.

He had to let her know why he was reluctant on letting her know what was going on. It was for his own good.

"If you know me well like you claim you do, then you will know I hate being kept in the dark, I hate the feeling of not knowing what's happening around me," Kaia looked at him while folding her arms.

Was it bad to want to know? It was her life for crying out loud. She needed to know, not like she wanted to know. There was a vast difference between need and want.

"I know Kaia but I'm only thinking about your health here, alright that's enough, please have your food," Cole pleaded. He didn't want to continue the conversation.

Kaia stared deeply at him and she sighed out. She had sense his deep reluctance to want to tell her. She wasn't going to force him. When he is ready to tell her, he would.

"Will you eat now?" He asked and she nodded.

As she ate, Cole watched her eat and he felt serene peace in his heart. This was what he wanted in his whole life. Just he watching her eat, his heart felt warm.

Kaia sensed his gaze on her and she stopped eating to look at him.

"Aren't you going to eat?" Kaia asked as she could not meet his eyes.

"Watching you eat fills me, I don't think I need to eat," Cole said with a small smile.

Kaia choked immediately on hearing what he had to say while Cole rushed to hand her a cup of water to which she accepted gladly. She didn't want to risk her life.

"Why did you say that?" She asked him immediately she dropped the cup.

"Because that's what I truly feel," Cole replied with a matter of fact tone which caused a red blush to appear on her face.

"You have got to think of where and when to say such words," Kaia chastised him.

"Fine, I won't say it while you are eating," he relented and she nodded before continuing with the meal.

During the course of the meal, there was a knock on the door.

"That should be the maids with your clothes," he guessed as she nodded to it.

Cole walked to the door as he opened it. As he thought, it was the maids with her clothes.

"You may come in," Cole gave permission as he ordered for them to put the clothes into the wardrobe.

"Wait a minute, are we going to share a room together?" Kaia asked feeling incredulous. She could not believe it and the shock she felt was something she had not felt in a long time.

"Of course, we are a couple and it's expected of us to stay together in the same room," Cole answered naturally which caused Kaia to stare at him with a terrible expression.

"You don't want to stay in the same room with me?" Cole asked, his expression showing how disappointed he was.

Kaia waved for the maids to leave. It wasn't right for them to stay while they were discussing. They immediately stopped what they were doing and left. They of course didn't want to listen to listen to the couple's banter.

"I feel like this is going at a really fast pace, I'm sure you are used to staying alone and I don't want to intrude in your space," Kaia actually gave a good reason but Cole was not going to have any of that.

"We are a couple, a married one at that," Cole emphasized on this point as he looked at her.

"Of course I know but...," Kaia said and paused. She had no idea on what to say.

"On the contrary, I will like to stay in the same room with you, you don't need to worry, we won't share the same bed," Cole said as he tried to comfort her.

He knew this might be her worry and he tried to pacify her hoping she accepted.
