All these happened in less than 30 seconds before she slumped to the floor.
Cole was slow to react and he only got himself back when he heard the loud thump on the ground.
"Kaia," he rushed to her, holding her in his hands.
He hastily carried her to the bed as he searched for his phone.
Once he found it, he dialed a number.
"I need you in my room now, something happened to Kaia, I need you to check on her," he said to the other person on the other end of the call.
He disconnected immediately. He didn't even wait for the person's response. He was only worried about Kaia.
"What happened to you now, did you recall something?" He asked as he held her hand while sitting close to her.
He watched her take deep breaths and he sighed. I she recalled something, then it will actually be a good thing for him and he could try to follow up in this way.
But he was scared of her being unconscious every single time it happened. He was going to leave things to fate and how it wanted to work.
Twenty-five minutes later, Kayla came rushing in. It turns out Kayla was the one Cole called.
"Check up on her," he ordered and she swallowed. He didn't even greet her.
'Maybe she should just give up, he really didn't care about her, he only cared about Kaia,' she thought to herself.
"Go on," Cole ordered, snapping her out of her thoughts seeing that she was only standing.
"Ah, yes," she got back to her senses and rushed to the bedside.
"Can you tell me how she fainted?" She asked. She was professional while she worked and this was because she loved her job and she had principles she followed in her job.
"We were discussing and I don't know, she held her head before she fell, this happened in less than 30 seconds," Cole explained what happened causing Kayla to frown.
"Does she have any underlying health issues?" Kayla asked. This was the only feasible explanation Kayla could come up with.
"She lost her memories, apart from that, I can't really recall if she does," Cole replied naturally.
"Lost her memories?" Kayla asked. She was shocked and she wondered how he was able to know that she had amnesia.
"Yeah, we have known each other for long, we were really close to each other but one thing or the other happened, we got into an accident," Cole paused.
Recalling the past made me him feel emotions he had not felt in a while and it made him feel heartache. He was thoroughly devastated.
Kayla didn't say anything. She only waited for him to continue. She felt that there was more to the story that meet the eye.
"When she woke up, she didn't recognize me, I was shocked, the doctor then told me that she chose to forget the moments we spent with each other," he said and sighed out loud.
Kayla really felt his pain. To be forgotten by one's love was quite heartbreaking. She just could not fathom that the Cole which she admired had actually gone through something as heartbreaking as this.
"I had no other choice but to let her go, letting her stay with me will only hurt the both of us, so it was the right thing to do at that time, I thought I could live without her but I was wrong," Cole continued and smiled a bit but that smile contained sadness.
"Then how come she became your wife?" Kayla asked. If he wanted her to stay away, he won't have gotten married to her. What was he trying to do now?
"Honestly, I think it's fate, I was to get married to Madison, her stepsister, but as fate would have it, Madison hated me and made her a replacement," Cole chuckled. He had been so thrilled ever since he discovered what Madison was up to.
"But I feel you should have done something so she won't end up getting married to you, don't get me wrong, she being around you can trigger her and it isn't the best thing for her," Kayla gave her honest opinion but it was a bit selfish on her part.
"I thought I could stay away from her, but that was just all talk, I can't stay away from her, five years apart from her caused me a lot of pains," Cole stood up as he turned his back against Kayla.
"Seeing her once more ignited emotions from five years ago, I can't hold it in anymore, Kaia is my life and I can't live if she isn't with me, I will make her regain her memories, she has to recall all the beautiful times we spent with each other," Cole vowed with conviction as he turned to look at her.
"You will know once you get to have someone whom you love, you won't want to stay away from him," Cole said with a smile to which she returned.
'But you are the one I love and I can sympathize with you, I guess I have to give up on you, I really do not stand a chance with you and I don't want to be the bad guy in your love story,' Kayla thought to herself and this was the end of Kayla's undying love for Cole.
"I will be on my way, she will regain her consciousness soon and please, do not ask questions, she will tell you herself," Kayla said and he nodded. She left immediately he nodded.
*Benjamin's Mansion*
This was the abode of the Benjamin. Madison was in her room, asleep. They (she and her dad) had gotten home quite late and though they had their family dinner, it was without drama to which Madison was quite grateful for.
The sun seeped in through the curtains which caused Madison to squint her eyes.
"Oh," she groaned loudly as she placed her hands over her eyes.
"Is it morning yet?" She asked herself as she tried to get up from her bed.
"Oh, but I don't want to get up," she whined as she successfully leaned on the headboard of her bed.
She suddenly heard a notification and she reached out for her phone which was on the vanity table near her.
When she unlocked her phone, the message which she received cause her face to drop and her heart to sink.
