"She wants it, she will get it, get the TV ready," Cole ordered as he sank into his own thoughts.
"Are you sure you want to do this, do not make hasty decisions, I believe you have come too far to want to just break the news to her," Melvin tried to advise him.
It won't be nice for him to make this decisions rashly. Experience has proven that it's always wrong.
"What do you want me to do then?" Cole suddenly lashed out which scared Melvin.
"I'm sorry for yelling but right now, I just feel too lost, I wish I can just tell her without fear that her health will get in the way," Cole said as he pinched the space in between his eyebrows, an habit he always does whenever he's frustrated.
"You have to be calm, think over it, do you want to let her know about the past which both of you shared or do you want her to regain her lost memories on her own?" Melvin gave him two choices.
This was actually nice. It will help Cole know what his real priorities are.
"I will love to tell her but I have to keep in mind what the doctor said when he operated on her, she chose to forget our past, trying to force her to recall is akin to ending her life as it will cause a mental strain in her brain," Cole explained and sighed out.
Melvin looked at his friend and felt really bad for him. It was devastating when you wanted to tell someone what's really bothering but you can't because of fear.
"It will get better bro, for now, I think you need to focus on your family, once they find out you didn't get married to Madison, I'm scared of what they might do," Melvin voiced out his concerns.
"I'm clearly aware of that but it isn't my main concern right now," Cole said carelessly as he focused on his documents.
"Not your concern, before you know it, one of them will coming rushing through that door to question you," Melvin said with his his hand on his forehead. He was exhausted in trying to make him see reason.
"That isn't my concern, whatever I do doesn't matter to them, they had already ousted me out of the house, so why should I care about what they think?" Cole asked, closing the document to stare at his friend.
"What about Kaia? What if they find her in your house? What if they bully her because she's not their choice?" Melvin asked.
He knew it was cheap to use Kaia but there was nothing he could seeing that Cole was acting extremely stubborn.
"I won't give them the chance to hurt her, cause trouble for them," Cole gave in at the mention of Kaia's name which caused Melvin to chuckle.
'Kaia is still the one who's able to influence you, I only hope you get back to your happy self now that she's with you,' Melvin wished in his mind.
"You may leave, it's almost dark," Cole said as he stared at the window.
"Why do you want me to leave? You know I don't have any woman waiting for me at home, neither do I have a girlfriend," Melvin complained.
His friend was going to leave him just because he was married already. Such was the life between friends.
"I wasn't the one who asked you to not have a girlfriend, it really isn't my fault, you may leave now," Cole harshly replied which stunned him deeply.
"Harsh," Melvin replied but Cole didn't put him in his face.
"Fine, I will be leaving now," Melvin said and left the study.
On he leaving the study, he bumped into Kaia.
"What's wrong?" He asked with folded arms. Looking at the girl who chose to forget Cole and their past, he had mixed feelings about her.
"I'm looking for Cole, I want to apologize for my rude behaviour earlier on," Kaia said with a remorseful look..
"Really? You feel remorseful now?" Melvin asked with folded arms.
"I'm sorry, I was just frustrated, the things happening to me got on my nerves and I said what I shouldn't have," Kaia played with her fingers as she said tboses words.
"I'm not the one you should say sorry to, I'm not the one you wronged, you know the person who you offended, so go say sorry to him," Melvin said to her and she looked down.
"But I don't know where he is, can you direct me to where he is?" Kaia requested timidly.
"Down the hall, his study is located there," Melvin directed her.
"Thank you," she said and dashed to the place.
'Oh Kaia, you didn't even change one bit,' Melvin thought to himself as he laughed before leaving.
While Cole was busy working, he heard a knock on the door. He removed the glasses he wore before he muttered a "come in."
He looked up to see who it was and a frown morphed on his face seeing it was Kaia.
"It's you," he said as she dropped the document paper he was holding.
"Yes it's me," she muttered before taking slow steps to stand in his front.
"What are you doing here and how did you find my study?" Cole asked her and she gulped. He wanted to sound nice but he ended up sounding cold.
"Uhm, I bumped into Melvin and he showed me your office," she answered while playing with her fingers.
Cole looked at her and he noticed she was playing with her fingers and he frowned. She only played with her fingers when she was nervous.
'Was she nervous around him?' He questioned himself and he felt very uncomfortable which caused him to adjust on his seat.
"Go on," he said. He didn't allow her to see the dilemma he was facing right now.
"I came to apologize, I know what I said was actually very bad of me which is why I came to apologize," Kaia said in a low voice.
"You came to apologize?" Cole asked her and his voice sounded like he just heard the biggest joke in his life.
Kaia looked at him and her heart sank deeply. He didn't believe what she said. He didn't believe that she actually came to apologize.
