"So, you're telling me that I've already read this web novel?" Edward asked.
"That's right. Instead of reincarnating you into a random one, it would be better to choose one you're already familiar with. This way, you'll know in advance who to avoid," Litty said, moving forward and clinging to Edward's hair. She positioned herself upside down in front of his right eye, asking, "Why? Did I do something wrong? I chose the one that best matched your taste, taking into account the time you spent reading them."
"No, you did it right. The only detail is that you forgot a small thing, like me spending almost twenty years in another world... I don't even know how I could still speak the Earth's language," Edward sighed, shrugging.
"Oh... I see." Litty couldn't think of anything to say at that moment, so she remained silent. However, this didn't last long, as an idea came to her mind on how to work around it. She hit Edward's head with her feet and impulsively pulled some hair strands before saying, "Sorry for that again. I should have thought better, as I could have improved or even refreshed your memories before reincarnating."
"No need to dwell on that. Just skip this boring part we've already dealt with some slaps, and tell me the idea you had. I noticed your excitement. Make sure not to pull my hair too hard," Edward said, placing his hand on his face. Looking around, he noticed they were already in the current part of the road, where other carriages with different crests on their doors could be seen.
"Oh..." Litty let go of Edward's hair, clearing her throat. She began to speak, "Maybe you remember a bit of it by its name, don't you?"
"Well, what would that be, though? Although I doubt it will work," Edward said.
"The Unlimited Potential Mage Will Save the World. That was the name," Litty replied.
Edward shook his head in disagreement, saying, "What a shit name. Are you sure I read that? Because I have no idea why I would."
"Yes, you definitely read it, and given our first encounter, it's pretty obvious why you'd read that story," Litty spoke with a closed expression and a judgmental look.
"Ah, that makes sense... Well, anyway, let's put that aside, as the name of this story shouldn't be too difficult to figure out who to ignore," Edward said disdainfully, trying to recall something related to the story but with no success.
Deep in thought, Edward asked, "And another thing: you have knowledge of them too, right? Since you read the entire thing for the reincarnation."
"Oh, yes, of course... not," at that moment, Litty's body seemed to shrink, falling forward headfirst.
"Wait, what? Did you lie then?" Edward asked, picking up Litty from the top of his head and staring at her intently, making her look like a ragdoll with a disheartened expression.
"Well, it's just that I don't have the authority for that because it would be like foreseeing the future. If, by any chance, you remembered the story, there wouldn't be any problems, as it would just be a side effect of you being from a superior world... I'm sorry... I should have given a memory-related blessing to prevent this... but now it's done... hahaha," Litty said, keeping her head down.
While Edward observed Litty in this situation, he noticed from the carriage window that they were entering a private area. Only students and authorized personnel were allowed, and anyone else would be severely punished.
"Just forget about it. We only need to find out who the protagonist is, see who is close to him, and ignore everyone else. Besides, we've already reached the academy area," Edward said, waving his hand slightly, causing Litty to grip his finger tightly.
"Stop that; I'm going to vomit..." Litty said with her eyes spinning. When she managed to recover, she added, "Is it serious? Finally!" Her eyes gleamed as she quickly flew to the window, looking at the academy from afar—an imposing structure resembling a massive castle.
"Now, we just need to wait a bit more," Edward said, closing his eyes and leaning back. "When we arrive, call me. It should take another fifteen minutes."
Litty didn't even hear Edward; she just kept her hands pressed against the window, observing other carriages on the street and the distant academy.
Sixteen minutes later, they arrived. As they got out of the carriage, they started hearing a strange noise entering their ears. Soon after, they noticed a large blue cloud filled with bright white dots covering the entire entrance area of the school. There were no carriages in sight, and the school gate, once a massive white door, had now turned into a simple wooden door with two gigantic knight statues, each holding an axe.
"Litty, you said nothing bad happens at this school. What the hell is this?" Edward questioned, shielding his eyes with his arm. In the background, he could hear numerous students screaming.
"My eyes... my eyes are burning!" shouted a group of students before fainting.
"Isn't this just an overly dramatic presentation? Maybe a surprise test?" Litty nervously suggested, looking around as she witnessed numerous students falling unconscious one after another.
The sound of something hitting the ground was heard, followed by a voice that made more than half of the unaffected students kneel. "Those still standing, congratulations, you're going to the special class."
'Wait, Fuck... I should have noticed this,' thought Edward, What he wanted as a peaceful life inadvertently turned into something significant.
"To all others, you will undergo another test to determine your classes. And with that, I say to everyone, welcome to the Dantrian Academy of Magic and Swords, the best academy in the world."
