Chapter 9 - Cleaning

Inside Edward's room, he was now lying on the bed, sprawled out and asleep, while Litty sat on his stomach, munching on a cookie practically the size of her.

"This is good... Really good... Why isn't there this kind of thing in the realm of the gods?" Litty spoke, pausing from biting the cookie's edge. "I can gain everyone's trust by winning them over with this kind of thing."

After a few seconds of maintaining a devilish smile, three knocks sounded on the door, and the head of a small translucent raven appeared through the door, saying, "Student Edward, Student Edward, go to the main hall now. The potential test is about to begin, and if you miss it, there will be consequences." After finishing speaking, the raven disappeared.

"Hmm, consequences?" Litty stroked her chin, continuing, "Oh! This could make Edward end up in a common class."

After a few seconds of silence, Litty looked at the cookie in front of her. "But if that happens, he would tarnish his reputation, which means he won't inherit his father's business, and it would be goodbye to the luxurious life. Without him having one, I wouldn't have it either."

Litty pushed the cookie forward, shaking her head in denial, saying, "No! No! No!"

Litty flew to Edward's head, slapping his face several times in an attempt to wake him up, but it was futile. Looking at her hands, she spoke, "Urgh... darn it."

Perching on Edward's face, she quickly moved to his nose, covering his nostrils with her two hands, causing him to wake up suddenly, almost landing a slap on her.

"Ahh... what was that?" Edward spoke, searching his room for anything unusual until his eyes focused on Litty flying above him. "Are you trying to send a gift to a friend or something?"

"As if that's possible... you almost killed me, thinking I was a mosquito," Litty said, her eyes losing color. Before Edward could say anything else, she intervened, saying, "And another thing, I only woke you up because they called you for the potential test."

"Why didn't you say it earlier? If I'm late, I'll end up drawing attention," Edward picked up the cookie that was on his stomach, seeing it practically untouched, and gave a mocking smile. "Han."

"Hey? What are you thinking?" Litty shouted.

"Nothing special, I just thought of something foolish," Edward said, breaking a tiny piece of the cookie and offering it to Litty. "You can't take something so big; otherwise, you'll get dirty."

Without saying anything, Litty flew to the door, turning the knob and opening it. "If you miss this test, your future will be ruined, so hurry up."

Edward tossed the cookie fragment toward Litty with a mischievous smile. "Don't worry, just enjoy."

Two minutes later, Edward arrived in the central hall, now filled with students. In front of him, a few meters away, stood a man with blond hair, a single red strand, and a white imperial uniform with various golden-lined details. In the right pocket, adorned with medals, a small black notebook rested. Leaning on the balustrade, he looked down with his golden eyes focused on some people.

"Who do you think he's looking at?" Litty spoke ironically, letting out a sigh.

"Better that way, just ignore all the extras," Edward yawned and rubbed his eyes. "Ah... seems like I'm still sleepy, how strange."

Edward descended the stairs, blending into the crowd of students.

'His stress must have finally subsided...' Litty thought, lying on his head, turning her face to the side.

"When will this start? I want to get back to training soon. I can't waste any more time," a girl with blond hair spoke, running her calloused right palm over her hand. Her voice was just one of many filling the entire place.

'So much noise, how can they talk in this chaos?' Edward thought, rubbing the center of his eyes.

"Since everyone is here, let's begin. My name is Adrwnr Kinnel, and I'll be your summoning instructor, or as the director forces me to say, 'summology.' It'll be a pleasure to teach you. Now, let's start this test." He removed a cloth from his pocket, waved it, and tossed it forward.

As the cloth fell, it began to grow in size, altering its shape to resemble a black knight with a body made of fabric. When it collided with the ground, a crater formed around it, and a large wave of mana spread throughout the room, prompting screams among the students.

"Huh? What was that? It's not going to happen again, is it?"

"No! I don't want to faint again."

"Faint? That knight seems to want to rip our guts out."

"Are you not going to do anything?" Litty whispered, continuing, "If you can pass through all the phases again, won't it be problematic?"

"Just look at the knight, and you'll understand everything because the test hasn't even started yet. What happened was just a removal of trash," Edward said, and when Litty looked, even those she had clearly seen faint before due to the mist were now so calm that they seemed to be looking at a dog rather than a black knight.

"If you can't withstand the pressure my baby exerts, you can't survive here. I'm sorry, but you're expelled," Adrwnr spoke, and a red border appeared in the iris of his eyes, causing a shadowy spear to materialize in the black knight's right hand.

"Huh????? What are you talking about? Do you know how much my father invested in this academy?" A boy who summoned an ice sword spoke, his body shaking uncontrollably.

"Recant your words now, or tomorrow this place will be trampled by an army of ten thousand men," a girl shouted. Immediately, three skeletons appeared around her body.

"This is unfair. We already had that bizarre test at the gate, and now this?" Various shouts were heard while Adrwnr maintained a smile.

"We appreciate your father's money, but unfortunately, it created a talking trash bag," Adrwnr said, snapping his fingers.

Before the students could react, their stomachs were struck by four copies of the black knight's spear, which was now pointed in their direction.
