"Liu Yang…"
"No!" Li Na wanted to cry bitterly after hearing that familiar name as she took a deep breath and said, "Hey, you must be kidding, right? Right?!"
"No." The little kid frowned and said, "He is my only family alive."
"Really?" Li Na looked at the little kid, a bit sceptical as she frowned. "He is really your brother? But…. I have never heard of him having such a younger brother….."
"Even he doesn't know that yet, but….." Xu Jun sighed with a hint of sadness drifting in his little childish voice as he lied, "You know, I have a distant relation with the surname Liu, and I have heard the name Liu Yang before from my late mom's mouth. She had said she had a stepmother whose child's distant cousin's maternal aunt's brother is Liu Yang. So, I think that's him."
"Wait wait wait, what?" Li Na's head was full of crisscross marks as she tried to make sense of what the little kid just said, shaking her head right after that. "Alright, since you're a kid, I'll believe your words."
She pulled out her wristwatch as she clicked something, saying, "Can you repeat what you just said?"
"Uh…." Little Xu Jun's body stiffened as he said, "My…. My Stepmom's..... child's.... Uh…."
"Alright." Li Na pressed her forehead as she closed the wristwatch and held the shoulders of the little boy, saying, "Little kid, I'm just doing this because you're cute. Okay? You must keep some good words for me in your brother's ears for promotion!"
Xu Jun nodded with a trace of determination in his eyes. Honestly, he didn't think about anything else at present, and his mind revolved around saving that guy first. The rest of the things he would think about later.
Thus, the two of them walked out of the place as he was finally pushed into her hover auto, which was round and simple with only two seats at the front. Clearly, this vehicle was only meant for official purposes and nothing else.
Within a few minutes, the hoverauto dashed through the busy road at the fastest speed possible, taking them both to the destination they wanted to reach.
The entire place was filled with huge buildings with roads built way above the ground level. Of course, it wasn't that there weren't any roads beneath, there were, but that was only a slum area where poor betas lived who couldn't afford the rich, high-class society of the skies.
The pretty brother's apartment was located in one of the beautiful towers on the topmost floor. When they finally landed on the huge balcony of the tower, Xu Jun looked around with a trace of excitement in his eyes.
Ever since he was born, aside from his school, he didn't get to go elsewhere. Of course, because he wasn't especially a loved child, the place he lived was beneath the skies, around the slums. He was taken care of by some low-class servants who didn't even often give him enough to feed.
Once in a while, his parents would arrive only to make sure whether or not he was still alive. Even though he could see a trace of lingering warmth in their eyes for him, they would still not treat him well after spending more than a week with him.
Then they would fight one another on something and stomp out of the house, only to return the next week. The cycle continued, but Xu Jun's life was never filled with warmth. The only trace of warmth he had ever received in his life was from that big brother, and no one else.
Thus, when he glanced upon such a luxurious apartment, his eyes lit up as he stared at the beautiful garden right in front of him. The fountain of a little boy dancing in the centre made him as he chuckled and made the same pose, laughing to himself.
Li Na also chuckled seeing the little kid's antics as she lowered her head and said, "So, you want to go inside little boy?"
"Yes!" Xu Jun didn't care about the fountain boy anymore as he followed the woman. She quickly opened the door with the password, looking like she was familiar with it. Then she pushed open the door, revealing a cozy and luxurious hall inside.
"Woah….." Xu Jun stared at the place with his shining gaze.
Sofas, television on the wall, a staircase made of glass, a bathroom on the side and a kitchen on the left….
Everything from top to bottom looked so enchanting that he just couldn't take his eyes off of it. Seeing his reaction, Li Na's eyes softened as she bent over and said, "Little kid, even if you don't have a home, you can stay here. I'll…. I'll try to talk on your behalf and stay with you until he arrives, okay?"
"En" Xu Jun nodded, pleasantly surprised at the behavior of the woman.
He had thought after being caught and after his lie exposed, this woman would soon turn against him, but to his surprise, not only she sided with him, but she also decided to help him!
Since the woman who worked with that pretty brother was so kind, how much kinder would that guy be?!
Sure enough, there must be a reason why that person was his obsession, after all!
Little Xu Jun's eyes flashed with a trace of excitement upon thinking of spending his days with that pretty brother. He didn't care about anything else, nor did he bother with his life.
Right now, all he cared about was feeling the same trace of warmth that he had received upon glancing first time at the pretty brother a few hours back.
Just as he was thinking about his future happiness, the lady got a phone call, and she picked it up. She started talking to the earpods attached to her ears as she looked serious. Then she frowned and uttered a curse under her breath before glancing at the little guy, saying, "Young man, I have to go. Be a good boy and stay here, okay?"
"En….." Xu Jun didn't want to be left alone. Even though he wanted to be with his obsession, he still didn't know anything about that pretty brother. From his face, the man looked a little too cold and indifferent….
But seeing this lady hurrying up, he shut his mouth and said, "Okay, go ahead."
"Aiya, good boy!" Li Na patted his head and walked out, locking the door from the outside.
Now left alone, Xu Jun glanced around as his glance finally rested in the kitchen as his eyes lit up.
Maybe he could make something for the pretty brother as a welcome gift!
Little did he know it would prove to be a mistake.
