Liu Yang had a heck of a day. First, he had to deal with a kid who decided to stick to him like glue. For some reason, he really didn't want to be around that little kid, and he almost felt repulsive at the thought of having that child around.
Usually, he would be fine and nice with kids. Although he was an officer, he wasn't that cold to ignore the kids and talk to them coldly. After all, he was also an Omega at heart who would be soft and sweet to kids because of his heart's softness toward them.
But that kid….. He didn't even know why that little kid would bring about the darker and colder side of him all of a sudden. He could have kept that child with him if not for the vigilance he felt in the depths of his heart toward that child.
He sighed and walked toward the door of his apartment. He locked his hover auto and used his thumbprint to unlock the door, opening the door. But as soon as he opened the door, a thick smokey gas hit his nose, rendering him stunned for a few seconds.
His vigilance kicked in all of a sudden as he pulled out his laser gun, shouting, "Who's there?!"
His house was located at the most secure building ever, and at the topmost floor because of his special identity. Since he was such a nice and fine head of the police department with special skills to even frighten alphas under his anger and skills to get rid of criminals faster than those alphas working under him, the government made sure to protect such a talent with all they had.
This house should have been well protected under their security, and if someone dares to break in, an alarm should have rung in his smart watch, notifying him about the intruder at his home. When entering he had even checked and his lock worked perfectly well.
So what happened?!
How could someone break in without breaking the lock or notifying him?!
He rushed inside and directly went into the kitchen, fearing that he would find a criminal inside only to be stunned to find a familiar little kid, panicking as he stared at the stove with a dreadful expression on his little round face.
On the stove, there was a pan placed right on the top with smoke coming off, spreading around the room. Smoke seemed to have reached the ceiling as the fire alarm triggered. Soon, the shower attached above the ceiling to get rid of the fire was triggered, dropping heaps of rain onto them in the kitchen.
The corners of Liu Yang's lips twitched.
He would like to take his words back. He didn't have a single trace of sympathy for kids, especially this little one who burnt his pan to the point it turned from creamy to entirely black and if that wasn't enough, he even ended up wetting the entire kitchen, making a heap of work for him to do.
Cleaning the kitchen, are you kidding?!
By this time, even the little kid seemed to have noticed a certain someone had entered and had seen everything that had happened. Xu Jun's face paled as he looked at the officer, stuttering as he tried to explain himself, "I….. I was just….."
"You were what?" The officer put down his laser gun as he glared at the kid. "Trying to burn my kitchen to crisp just because you were hungry?!"
"No... I was…. I was….."
"No need to explain yourself!" Liu Yang pressed the bridge of his nose as he muttered to himself, "This is the reason why I don't ever want to marry! Get out. Get the fuck out of here!"
Xu Jun stood there, completely shocked and stunned because of the man's outburst. He pursed his lips as he stared at the man, still stubbornly standing there like some fool.
"Didn't you hear what I just told you?!" Liu Yang hadn't been this angry for a long, long time. He dashed toward the little kid and grabbed his little, slim arm, dragging him out of the kitchen. He kept dragging until he reached the main door of his house and walked outside the apartment.
Then he went over to the little shed on the side, placing the little kid on the bench as he clicked a few buttons, covering the entire place with a wall.
While doing all of that, his expressions were entirely cold and indifferent as he glanced down at the kid with his expressionless gaze. "Stay here until my subordinate comes and takes you away."
The little kid raised his head and looked at the man with a wronged expression on his face. He wanted to explain himself, but when he saw that kind of cold and unfriendly attitude, his heart was smashed into pieces as he lowered his head, looking all depressed.
Xu Jun looked exactly like someone who had lost all his heart and soul, falling into the depths of the abyss.
Liu Yang only spared him a single glance and turned around, walking away with utmost elegance. The little boy's eyes stuck to the man's back until he disappeared inside his house.
Only then did Xu Jun realized he had been left all alone beneath the sky as he hugged himself and curled up on the ground.
Oh, right. That window.
He immediately opened it only to find a congratulation pop-up in front of him as he looked at the screen, completely stunned. Then the pop-up disappeared automatically as he noticed slight changes on the screen.
"Dear, thank you for fulfilling your first mission so smoothly. As a reward, we give you two points. Every time you finish, you will be rewarded two points since this is an easy mode. If you want more points and want to perform riskier missions, please go ahead and select hard mode at the bottom."
Xu Jun frowned and looked at the option carefully. In the descriptions, it was written that once clicked, it cannot be reversed until the end of all of his missions, but the rewards he would get would surpass even his imagination and he would get an ultimate chance to live with his obsession once he passes all the levels with flying colors.
But if he continues onward with an easy mode, even if he finishes his missions, it won't guarantee a sweet and simple life with his obsession.
Xu Jun didn't even think about it before clicking on the hard mode.
