The little kid stared at the big brother as they both sat facing one another in the official hoverauto. The little kid constantly stared at the police officer as if obsessed with the man and couldn't stop staring.
Suddenly, his screen beeped and showed 1% progress.
The little kid's heart blossomed as he stared and stared until the officer himself raised his hand, putting it on the little kid's eyes. He frowned and asked indifferently, "Hey kid, what's your name?"
"Xu Jun," said the child, grinning foolishly at the young man sitting opposite to him.
"Okay, so do you have anyone in your entire Xu family to take care of you?"
Xu Jun's little brows furrowed as he shook his head. If he had, he wouldn't have fallen into this situation in the first place.
The officer nodded and continued to stare at the smartlink attached to his wrist. It was none different from that of a wristwatch, just a little more sleek and shiny.
He clicked it and a transparent screen appeared, showing multiple documents. Then, he started to work.
"What about you?" asked Xu Jun.
But he didn't receive an answer from the man anymore. He pouted and opened his own screen which had been empty for a long, long time.
Finally, something other than a small pop-up appeared. There was a dashboard, stats, obsession details, and missions…. For what? To obtain his obsession? Then followed by, there was a space for progress.
He directly clicked on progress and was surprised to find the obsession meter in the negatives. It was….. Damn….. "-999999999999?!"
Fuck!
Oh, kids shouldn't speak that word.
Xu Jun pursed his lips. He wondered what would happen once he reached zero…..
He sighed and clicked on the mission. When he clicked, another pop-up appeared at once.
"Dear user, thank you for using our services. Hereby, I heartily congratulate you for finding your obsession so soon. Now that you have located the thing or person you want, I'll help you attain him at all costs. You will just have to fulfil the missions, that's all. If you can, you might be able to achieve a little bit of progress in this lifetime.
"Remember, the further you advance, the more are the chances for leveling up and achieving greater benefits. With that, I'll let you examine your first mission."
Xu Jun blinked as he stared at the screen.
"Mission: Enter his home within two hours. Rewards: Two points. Failure: two negative points." Beneath that sentence, another warning was written: "PS: if the host reaches points below zero, the host's obsession will end up getting destroyed all at once. Current points: 0."
Xu Jun stared at that as his lips pursed once again. He stared at the screen, closing it once again as he pretended he wasn't just staring at a random screen that no one could see. Fortunately, others weren't observing him anymore. Thus, the ten-year-old kid anxiously sat on his seat, trying to come up with an excuse to enter into the big brother's home.
Damn it, if he failed to enter the big brother's home, the officer would die!
What kind of terrible system was this?!
But Xu Jun was a kid, after all. He didn't have enough brains to think about what this f*cking system actually was. Thus, he ignored it and focused on his mission.
How to enter the big brother's house?
Just as he was thinking about it, the hoverauto already reached the destination, that is the local police station.
The officer sighed and closed his smartlink, jumping out of the vehicle. He didn't even glance at the kid behind him who was struggling to get out of the hoverauto and said, "You can stay here at the headquarters until I find a solution for you."
Xu Jun's eyes widened. His lips parted as he stared at the big brother in front of him and said in a small, gentle voice, "Big brother….. Can't I be with you?"
"No."
That sharp and direct refusal made the little guy's heart sink. He pursed his lips as he played with his fingers anxiously, cursing at himself on why he couldn't be an ordinary, grown-up alpha rather than a small kid?! This beautiful omega big brother wasn't listening to him, ah!
The hoverauto had stopped in the parking lot filled with different vehicles with their own spaces to charge them up. The officer led the kid toward the elevator and entered it, gesturing for Xu Jun to follow him. Within a second, they reached the topmost floor as the officer walked out followed by a little kid who had to run to keep up with the man's pace.
"Big brother…."
"I'm not your big brother." The officer got a headache dealing with a kid. He didn't want anyone to latch onto him just like that. Thus, as he walked through the corridor, he stopped and turned around, staring at the little guy sternly. "Listen, I'm not your big brother, and nor will I ever be. I'm an officer. Repeat after me. O.F.F.I.C.E.R."
"No…. You're my big brother." Xu Jun again made an adorable face as he stared up at the officer, tilting his head and blinking his eyelids innocently. "You have saved my life. So from here on out, you're my big brother."
The young man sighed and turned around, deciding not to deal with a little kid anymore. He still had a lot of work to do rather than talking to a stubborn ten-year-old child.
Soon, they reached his office which had a counter next to it, where a woman sat elegantly, doing something on her smartlink. She giggled and continued to watch with a hint of interest in her eyes.
As soon as she heard someone clearing their throat, she looked up irritably only to have her eyes widen. She instantly closed her smartlink and stuttered, "Uh…. Sir…. I…. That….."
"No need to explain." The young man looked at the woman coldly. "You can have your resignation letter ready by tomorrow."
So ruthless!
Xu Jun felt like entering this big brother's house wouldn't be a possible task! He was so cold and ruthless!
