"Leave Niko, Nad. And, come to my side!"
That remark frustrated me. How could I say such a stupid thing to Nadia? I was stupid, I shouldn't have said those words. But, for some reason it just came out of my mouth. For a while I was pensive and recalled the events of 15 minutes ago, when I said those words to her.
"Leave Niko, Nad. And come to my side!"
Nadia was silent for a while. She stood still and could only stare at my face with a look in her eyes that was very difficult to interpret. What is this? What should I do?
"I . . . I will come to your side, Max," she said suddenly, opening her voice, making me surprised enough to look at her face.
"I will come to your side as a friend, to share your joys and sorrows. For now, you will be number 1 in my heart. Because I already think of you as my own brother," she explained and then left.
Hearing Nadia say those words, for some reason I felt very happy. Finally, my long wait had finally paid off. Yes, I love Nadia very much, I also love her very much. But, I love her not as a man to a woman. But, as a brother to his sister. Because Nadia is the half of my life that I lost for so many years.
I looked at the heart-shaped necklace around my neck. In the necklace were two photos that meant a lot to me. Yes, they were pictures of my mother and sister. My mom is a great woman, the woman I love the most in this world.
13 years ago, I experienced the hardest thing in my life. After experiencing material failure, bankruptcy and having all my personal belongings confiscated, I experienced something that was hard for me to live with. Accustomed to a life of affluence, I experienced the unexpected. Living in a small house with no money, my family's life was full of trials.
I still remember when I saw my sister wearing torn shoes when she went to school. My heart was broken, I was sad to see him. Being teased by her friends, being ostracized by people, made my sister always cry sadly. Not wanting to make my sister sad, I decided to give her the shoes I had.
13 years ago. . .
"Sis, why did you give me your shoes?" she asked when she saw me putting my shoes on her feet.
"So that your feet don't hurt, Dek. So, you just wear my shoes, okay?"
"But, my brother's feet?"
"Never mind, don't think about your feet. Just think about you."
My little brother was looking at me with pitying eyes. She was so cute and adorable. Her dimples were visible when she smiled.
"Sis, I have an idea!" she said suddenly.
"Idea?
"Wear your shoes," he said, taking off my shoes that I had given him.
"What are you doing, Dek?" I asked confused.
"Put the shoes on. You don't want to see my feet hurt, do you? So carry me," he said softly with a small smile like an angel.
I smiled and immediately obeyed his orders. After putting on the shoes, I immediately picked up my little sister and walked down the path.
"Brother, look, that bracelet is nice, isn't it?" she suddenly shouted enthusiastically.
"Which one? Oh yeah, right, the bracelet is very nice. Do you like it?"
"I love it!"
"Then let's buy it."
I immediately approached the bracelet seller and asked the price. When I found out the price of the bracelet, it was quite expensive for my age at the time.
But, I saw that my sister really liked the bracelet. Not wanting to disappoint her, I bought the bracelet with the rest of the pocket money I had saved.
Because the merchant felt sorry for my situation at that time, the merchant gave me a bonus of one of the same bracelets. And, at that time I was very grateful to him.
"Look, we now have the same bracelet!" she exclaimed looking so happy that I stroked her hair gently. "Mine is white and yours is black. Our bracelets are the same, right? Hooray, we're like lovers, aren't we?" she said with a laugh.
Those memories always make me cry when I think back to them. During that downturn, I always tried to help my family to get up quickly.
I did many things at that time, becoming a newspaper seller, a traveling milk vendor, and even busking on the street until my younger brother also busked on the street with me.
3 years passed so quickly, little by little my family began to rise. I was also proud to have a brother like him at that time, he was never ashamed of his family situation.
He also always motivated all of us not to give up and not to give up easily. With a great family like them, even if I have to lose a lot of things, I am willing. As long as they are always there for me and always happy forever.
However, that happiness just disappeared. After 3 years passed so quickly, my family was divided. My mother had to separate from my father at that time. Because I was a child and didn't know anything, I could only blame my mother for wanting to separate from my father.
I always saw that there was a big fight in the last 6 months. And, it always made me and also my sister feel sad and also frustrated. After deciding to separate, I had to separate from the sister I loved the most.
I went with my mom, while my sister went with my dad. Because it was a separation, my sister and I cried all day in our room.
"We can't be together anymore?" my sister asked with tears in her eyes.
"I promise, this separation is only temporary. We'll be able to be together again and hang out as usual," I said as I wiped away her tears.
"Then, can't I come with you and mamah?"
I held her close and kissed her hair gently.
"You're with papah here, take care of papah. Make papah always smile, you have to be papah's proud son. Do you promise me?"
"Yes, I promise," he said softly as he looked at my face.
"You believe me, don't you?"
My sister nodded slowly with tears that had started to fall slowly.
"You love my brother, don't you?"
