Chapter 9 - Trust

Standing if front of the mer's home, Serena wanted to pull the guy inside and ravish his little body. She wanted to make the bright red mark on his wrist disappear, but she knew better than letting lust overpower her this time. She knew nothing but his name and this planet was meant for hardcore criminals, specifically serial killers and mass murders. So what was he doing here?

Ignoring her hand which burned from the heat of his soft grasp, she looked at the iron door, which opened with a slight creak.

Entering the house, she realised that it had a very simple interior. A greeting room with only two chairs and a table, a bedroom on the right and a kitchen on the left. Michael turned towards her as he spoke, " wait here, I'll get the antiseptic solution."

With that, he ran inside giving Serena enough time to sort her thoughts.

'Hey system, is it possible to know if a person is telling the truth or not?'

" Yes host, the eye of truth is indeed a skill that can be learnt by purchasing it from from the store, but it requires the player to be atlest at level 3."

Serena raised her head to look on the direction the mer had left. She had always been a suspicious person who liked everything under her control, but the situation earlier, the uncontrollable lust and that unnatural hunger to simply devour him frustrated her and made her suspicious towards him. She knew somewhere in her heart that she was being illogical, but she simply couldn't help it, she was in a new world, all alone.

She narrowed her eyes as she stared at Micheal who returned with a smile in his eyes, his extraordinary happiness was too suspicious to her.

"Why aren't you wary of me? You know, your behaviour is really suspicious?" She spoke as she stared at the mer who was bandaging the back of her left hand.

"Huh?" He raises his head as his sapphire eyes trembled.

" You need to speak Micheal, I don't mean to hurt you, but I'm a woman and this is not a nice place. I know nothing about you, neither do you know about me. Then why are you able to trust me, even bringing me to your house?" She felt uncomfortable as he looked at her in shock. She didn't mean to hurt him, but these doubts needed to be cleared.

"I also don't know. I unnaturally feel attracted to you. I...I never thought that my first kiss would be like this. I had imagined falling in love before arriving here with my mother, but it was nothing like this. I know that logically I should be scared of you, if you're here then that means you killed someone, but forget feeling scared, I feel so drawn towards you. I just know that you won't harm me, how do I know, I'm clueless about that."

Serena felt her heart go through a rollercoaster ride as she heard the mer speak with his head lowered. She felt like a beast once again, wanting to pin him down as soon as she heard that it was his first kiss. She heard him sniffing towards the end of his confession, but that only made things worse as she pinched his chin and lifted his face to meet his red eyes filled with blame. Damn, why was everything about him so coquettish.
