Chapter 34 - Mousey Choice

After hearing the options that Nagan offered, Kurisunetamayo couldn't help but wonder in disbelief. For a man that he just met today, he attempted to not only interact, but also developed a method so they could communicate as equals.

And unlike many people that Kurisunetamayo met before, this man didn't speak with a single ill intention and greed when he was offering those choices.

Unknown to both Nagan and Owen, something that Kurisunetamyo herself didn't disclose on purpose—the nezuras could interpret more than just the foreign language that they spoke, they could also detect emotion and the intention behind every word.

This was due to the fact that they communicate directly to the soul. When a living being created a noise in an attempt to interact, their souls emitted a unique wavelength, The nezuras could read this wavelength.

In fact, it was because Nagan didn't emit any malicious intent to them, that Kurisunetamayo hadn't banished them away from the colony despite her fear that Nagan would actually eat them when he activated his {Primal Wrath}.

"... Nagan, demands, nezuras, absence?" Kurisunetamayo had a hard time gripping herself into reality. "Nothing, price, support?"

"I can repeat my words as many times as you want." Nagan gave a gentle nod.

Kurisunetamayo then looked around. One by one, all of the nezuras began to flock behind their priest, as they showcased a determined expression.

After a while, Kurisunetamayo then closed her eyes, slowly rocking her head up and down while taking a deep breath and letting it out.

"Everyone, delivered, choices." The priest of the nezura then opened her mouth, attempting her best effort to speak the very same language as the man that only wants to help their kind and nothing more. "We, will, become, part, of, the, Kingdom, of, Lunatic, Kaleidoscope!"

Her voice was shaky and crude, and it might be her first ever attempt to communicate using her voice.

She decided to do it anyway, as it was only appropriate for her, to accept the future king that will guide her people, the same amount of compassion and respect that she received as a foreign otherworlder in this world.

Hearing their word of confirmation, Nagan nodded as he took out his mask, putting a wide and sincere smile, "Alright, from now on, the Nezuras will be part of the Kingdom of Lunatic Kaleidoscope!"

Both Nagan and Kurisunetamayo shook their hand afterward, as every nezuras behind their leader was cheering in a loud yet squeaky manner, while their priest was headbanging up and down with gratitude and happiness.

Owen actually almost called out her husband when he uttered his real name without nezura choosing their options. Only when he finished speaking that Owen realized that it was only respectful and trustworthy to utter your name when making a vow or a promise. Who knows, maybe this detail was much more significant for the nezuras.

And when looking back on the speech that Nagan made, it was only appropriate for the nezura to choose the most trustworthy in the room. And amongst the human race that they haven't met before, amongst Nagan that offered to help them in the first place, the former would be the most apt.

Not to mention, they already saw what Nagan was capable of with how Nagan could easily shave a mountain or two after his performance on the edge of the tunnel.

It might also be fair to say that Nagan deliberately made the nezuras choose him no matter what he offered.

"Seems like the kingdom will be crowded for new year~" Owen commented within the soul link, while she was being crowded by numerous mice. Apparently to the nezuras, hugging was a great gesture of gratitude and affection. "Though, what will you say to the rabbits? Knowing that you mentioned how more rabbits would diminish their growth potential, right before shoving 102 new friends into the kingdom."

"The nezuras don't possess the same kind of growth as the usalians," Nagan replied casually while he himself was covered by numerous nezuras hugging him from all kinds of different directions, which formed a ball of mice that could roll down at any moment. "Quite the contrary, they will grow faster with the addition of the nezuras in our kingdom, especially after the nezuras decided to share their spiritual technology and culture with us.

"And because they have a better chance to adapt to it faster than me, we might get the first generation to establish their foundation as the pillar for the future generation." Nagan giggled, knowing what Hopscotch had accomplished to boost the usalian motivation.

Meanwhile, somewhere on Earth.

One of the last bastions of humanity.

"Dr. Nero!"

A female personnel barged into a room where a single man sat attentively behind a desk, prodding numerous information that appeared on the holographic screens with his gaze.

"One of our Stealth Expeditionary Drones is destroyed, isn't it?" The man behind the screen sighed as he swiped the hologram to view a different screen. "I know, I know. Having a thick layer of cloaking spells on a drone doesn't mean that none of the monstrosities roaming out there can sniff the hell out of it. You better inform another Deusah about this." He said as he shooed the personnel away. "Or who knows, let Merry know that her invention sucks and she needs to make it better. This should be a problem for the engineering department, not me. I'm already busy enough handling the domestic matters with all of these formerly rich and insufferable snobs that barely give anything to the Unified Bastion."

"Mr. Talas urged you to check the retrieved record of the SED unit, sir."

"Huh." The man then lackadaisically navigated through his holographic interface, opening the video file in his email as he observed the content attentively.

After a solid five minutes, the man got up after turning off all of the holographic activity on his desk. "Alright, you can do your own thing now."

The personnel bowed and went on her next task, as the man named Nero walked through the hallways to his next destination.
