Nagan asked Kurisunetamayo regarding the nezuras' behavior related to the xmas tree, as it invokes some questions about the nezura's nature when it comes to the discussion of souls.
"Living being, shed, souls." Kurisunetamayo flusteredly tried to construct more sentences as her finger movement portrayed her difficulty. "Emotion, attachments, permeate, souls, inanimate!"
She basically explained that a cherished object would gain a small piece of the living being's soul that felt the emotion towards it. On the other side of the spectrum, things like hatred and other negative emotions could also affect an inanimate object the same.
The xmas tree was the first event that was held within the Kingdom of Lunatic Kaleidoscope, and so many of its initial inhabitants felt a strong emotion towards it, as they picked the tree, unroot it, and heaved it to the place where it stood now, celebrating the holiday spirit with the tree as the catalyst. Hence why it possessed more souls than usual.
Kurisunetamayo then explained that, with the right emotions and guidance of a priest, the tree might form sentiency. She also said that she could make the 'spirit tree' work for the kingdom, depending on what kind of spirit that was born. To an extent, the tree might also become the birthplace of a new deity.
"Spiritual power is amazing," Nagan commented with awe.
Owen could be seen joining the kitchen, helping the usalian chef with the food preparation. And seeing it from a distance, Nagan joined the cooking fray, as Kurisunetamayo followed with her long hair dragged by the wind.
Apparently, Kurisunetamayo could provide a blessing to the food, giving it a greater enrichment and possibly supernatural traits like a permanent increase of strength, intellect, and even heights.
Her current blessing power wasn't exactly the best however, as she needed time to gather 'soul essence' to perform all kinds of her priestly act. As for what this soul essence was, it's basically the surplus of souls, and a priest can process them into a usable state.
Regardless, she was having a good time as she watched the food being rapidly prepared.
"Delicacy, extreme, immolation!" The nearby usalians quickly built a tall platform for her to stand and watch all the meats and vegetables being flipped on top of the grills.
The usalians seemed to be seeing Kurisunetamayo as their cute sibling with how she desperately tried to speak. Meanwhile, Hoppington on the wayward world was preparing another method to gaslight the usalans to work even harder.
"I feel like someone is talking about me," Hoppington murmured, as she was watching over the foragers in case they brought something unpleasant to consume like nelberry and other mushrooms that might kill a non-usalian.
Then again, Kurisunetamayo stated that the nezuras can consume all sorts of matters as long as they have a soul. But because their physical biology was that similar to humans, they could still be poisoned and acquired many complications if they didn't have a healthy diet.
They also apparently mentioned how they were only eating dirt and rocks back on earth, so Kurisunetamayo are currently herding the nezuras to not raid the kitchen as the delicious smell wafted into the air.
"First round, coming up!"
The drinks and cuisines were served, and the nezuras were jumping around like a fish that came out of the water. It was like seeing a large group of baby goats that were sprinting towards their bottles. In this case however, it was a large group of mouse people squeaking and stuffing food and water into their mouth with vigor and joy.
There weren't enough plates and cups so the crafter of the kingdom began to speedrun the eating utensils.
"I can do this even faster, Droste!"
"Shut up, Miss Wood Hugger, I can carve these even faster!"
The feast went on for five hours.
After every nezuras' stomach was filled, the formerly working usalians joined and extended the festivities of the buffet. It was also only after all of the nezuras were fed, Kurisunetamayo allowed herself to get her hands on the warm goodies that the kingdom provided.
"Twis, so, gwod~!" Kurisunetamayo said as she bawled her eyes out of tears with the food stuffed in her cheeks.
After the main commotion died down, the usalian began to prepare the infrastructure of the housings for the nezuras.
"We should make an apartment!"
"The trees in the wayward world aren't strong enough to make for the foundation!"
"It would be too long before we can make enough rebars and cements in our current production scale."
"We can make it using the almighty Roman concrete! It will stand the test of time, and it will be strong enough to make a multi residential building by just using wood and stones as tension reinforcement!"
"That's not how physics works!"
"We don't have enough limestone."
"Get the expedition team to search for lime deposits!"
"Not to mention, we also have an insulation problem…"
"Have we ever created a steam engine yet?"
"We're still in low medieval times in terms of technological advancement."
"Why not just make a large barrack?"
"Well, we can do that-"
Hearing the usalians bicker with one another about making a housing structure for the nezuras, Kurisunetamayo approached them with her cheeks still filled with food.
"Uhm, nezuras. We are capable, to enhance, bind, strengthen, manipulate, material property," Kurisunetamayo took a moment of silence to ask Nagan about what words to use before she continued speaking. "The usalians, can leave the construction's complication, to us!"
Seeing Kurisunetamayo's adorable attempt, the usalians cheered in jubilation and celebration as they finally decided on making an apartment structure, thanks to the confirming input from the priest that it was indeed possible to build a multi-residential structure without the proper resources and material.
And immediately after, the nearby nezuras began to gather with all sorts of proud expressions on their faces, waiting for the next work like a group of diligent kids waiting to get an order from their guardian.
