Chereads / Xianxia: Nine chances / Chapter 19 - Virtual Appeture

Chapter 19 - Virtual Appeture

In the face of chances, it has always been priority to explore, even at the expense of life loss. This is the case especially with those that are considered to have less impact on the structure of things in this world.

Unlike in the past when the law was supreme, in this era the council of rulers is supreme. To become one, the requirements are very simple, have enough merits, and the most necessary condition is strength.

It is also the same reason that makes Changshan so eager to have the participants sent in the ruins.

The contribution he could acquire if he had more information would be different from just claiming to have discovered it.

The other thing was also the chance, those that went in might bring out something beneficial to his practice.

As much as it was not possible to use external help, it did not mean that it was entirely useless.

The number of resources in existance where not all known and there have been cases of individuals even stronger than him obtaining chances that allowed them to improve their souls.

That is a very big boost, as any additional improvement on the soul affects the comprehension aspect. The stronger the soul the better the comprehension.

In a way, he was being selfish and not willing to let everyone go in, for starters, it would easy to be noticed than using a select group and second he might be incapable of completely claiming the contribution.

The most important thing was the fact he had not gotten permission from the council of rulers to use the students as explorers.

This was taking too much risk without even having a clear aspect of rewards to be gained from it.

That was the greatest issue he had, if he contacted them, there was a high chance they would allow it. It was just that acting on his own was a completely different issue.

He was torn in between having contribution and opportunity to go further. The reason for this conflict was actually simple, he had no way of knowing if the place really had benefits that could allow him to make progress.

In the end, he was indisicive and Luo could see this, as such she just kept watching it like a good show.

She could not get involved, for many reasons and one of them being that it was not worth it. The unknown is what she prefers to avoid, and she was also expecting something, this was her chance.

She had no plans to take risks, the moment the ruins denied her entry, she cut off the thought of getting benefits from it.

The thing that made her even more determined to stay away was the rule set by the council. If one where to have enough strength to match the council, mainly comprised of the sector lords, they would be allowed to open another sector.

This was direct acknowledgement as being one of them, but the Immortal path has not been able to reach this level. Not just them, the others too, are still far from this stage, and this means the number of sectors has almost remained the same for a long time.

Standing at the entrance of the ruins, Chengshan was more conflicted but Luo still asked the impotent question she has ways had in her mind.

"Why did you seem anxious for? I thought you where considered the fastest cultivator to enter the star realm? Other than the sector lords, no one has achieved such speed in your generation." She was indeed puzzled.

Even for her, lifespan was enough to continue practicing and perhaps she would be able jump into the next stage before her lifespan is half.

It was not a joke to say this situation was much better than others, but they where sure it was not easy to get to the level of the sector lords, after all the group used a collective term, to refer to themselves "Halfgods".

This is right, the sector lords where strong individuals standing at the Demigod stage.

Others might not be able to understand but the two of them do. They have gained guidance from the demigod level experts. This individuals are on another level and even their lifespan is probably not their greatest concern. The reason is simple, even the oldest of them still has enough lifespan to squander, unfortunately they are people more inclined towards continuing to improve.

It is also this group of people that truly make decisions that matter, as for small things, they are handled by their subordinates at the level of star.

This group is also almost never present unless an attack on the sectors is carried out, as such the moment Luo and Chengshan talked about them, one could see awe in their eyes.

"So what? Your technique was already said to have reached a point of almost allowing you to create a virtual appeture, what makes you so obsessed with some ruin. Didn't you forget the exploration in space that made all you decide to force students into this trial." Luo reminded him, but she could tell the guy was not listening.

He was more concerned about things beyond his control. To make any sort of improvement, he had to think of ways to raise or improve his technique. At the moment he was more inclined to think of ways to speed up his practice, but he was sure it would not change much.

Creating the virtual appeture was not easy and even among those in the star realm he knew of, not many had managed to reach this stage. They had reached this limit, after all Luo was not close to this stage yet, she did not feel anxious as he did.

In the star realm, far away from the current Li Jun, several divisions where present and the virtual appeture stage was among them.

It was just like the way the first realm of martial arts internal introspect ream was divided into nine stages, this is the case for some other realms, but the stages are not nine stages.

"So what are you going to do!" She asked after seeing the hesitation in his eyes vanish.

"You are right! It is best to report to the others and make the decision before someone actually manages to reach the destination. But even so, we should only be able to get some of the participants, not everyone. I wonder whether you should use this as a chance to test that kid, if he has what it takes to become your disciple?". He had a smile on his face.

But Luo felt a chill run down her spine, even though she did not react at all. She just stared at him as though he was making the biggest joke she heard.

She might appreciate Li Jun, but had no obligation to accept him as a disciple. This crazy man actually wanted to see if his actions would make her anxious, but he just ignored her.

Since when did she care about other people's threats. In the moment she was just waiting to watch for fun. Entering a ruin was not a good thing especially for a mortal.

The mechanisms inside such places are mainly focused on keeping people out. If there is a chance one enters without a problem they are lucky, if they are not attacked, then tests are underway.

Passing such tests is in most occasions very difficult. When Luo thought of the Emily that had entered already, she was sure the old fellows would definitely not let this chance go.

They thought the younger generation was becoming more and more tender and in this moment they would throw them in the ruins without a second throught.

This was what Luo assumed would happen, but Chengshan was thinking differently.

"The moment anyone steps into the secret realm, there is a high chance those old men would let them participate in that space exploration." He was not feeling pity for anyone.

For people like them, what have they not seen, and he had been on the space battlefield for a long time, he even had to fight and slaughter other humans. Death was not a big deal, and yes, the space battlefield was not fighting some alien. The humans from the Earth had already concured the solar system and where fighting other human races.

This was the case for the past centuries, and this kind of behavior was allowed by the strong from both races for a reason.

As for what the reason was, even Luo and Chengshan could not guess, but the two of them where aware that because of this war, they occupied another uncharted territory. From this, a ruins was discovered as such it was fools dream to expect the war to end in the near future.

This fight in their eyes was already something that even involved struggle for resources. With this being a matter of benefits, it was impossible to convince anyone to stop fighting. From this battlefield, many of the practioners have obtained chance to breakthrough on both sides.

What Li Jun was unaware of was that Emily unknowingly caused all their fates to be affected and there was nothing they could do about it.
