It's been a week passed and I finally no longer bedridden. I still continues to train magic as usual but I choose to train with much more determinations.
I choose to tell the full story about my past life, and it's safe to say that they end up determine to made me happy in any way possible. I manage to calm them down, but apparently, it still made them choose to spoil me a bit more.
Not that I mind, but my teenage self feels a bit embarrassed.
And after I told or in this cases, confirms their belief that I'm a reincarnator, they decide to tell me a few things that was only meant for adults.
Apparently, the Spirit Hunters dad defeats after they try to stop him from getting Andri and I out are nothing more than mere low-level thugs.
Spirit Hunters are far bigger organisations than those low-level hired thugs displays in their first impressions. Based on what dad told me, the Spirit Hunters consisting of class systems that seperates the weak and the strong.
Their levels are based on how powerful the spirits they have captures and how much wealth you earns by selling those spirits. There are 15 levels of fame and wealth respectively in that organisation, which horrifies me a lot.
A class system based on how much innocent spirits they captured and sold?! What kind of fucked-up organisation are those!?
And to makes matter worse, high-level spirits like Andri is enough to grant those groups immediate rise of ranks from rank 1, the lowest, to rank 10 due to how valuable he is.
Ain't no way I'm letting my new friend in this new world got sold by greedy, glory-seeking bastards.
If what mom and dad said are true, then I need to get stronger just in case they ambush us. They try to convince me that the village will heighten their security, but I argue with them that things can be unpredictable.
They ended up reluctantly agree, but promise me that I should enjoy my childhood. I can't refuse them since no matter what, they're still my parents and I'm the kid.
So, I end up increasing my training regime but not to the point that I overwork myself with my young body.
But, there's another problem involving my magic.
My mana control went from decent back to 'holy shit, you're this bad!?'.
Apparently, I exhaust my mana capacity during my attempt escape and rescue. And the anti magic cuff not only stop my mana regenerations, but also slowly siphoning my mana from my body.
It may be for a short amount of time, but because the cuff siphon my mana when my mana capacity is super low. It's the reason why my mom ask me to stay bedridden for a longer time compare to my first attempt on magic.
It increases my mana to the point that my mana rivals a child of noble's mana capacity, but it is so not worth losing all of my progress in my mana control.
"Arrgh!" I groan in fustration as another mana orb shattered, again! Mom did tell me that the reason of my mana control sucks is that I didn't let my mana capacity didn't grow naturally.
So, note to self, no cheat sheets or codes for magic.
Sadly, I have a feeling any reincarnators with level systems didn't face such issues.
----------------------------------------------------------
No need to worry, kid. It still problems faced for those getting leveling system. It may helps their progress easier, but it won't be that easy.
That's true. In fact, it's actually every level system users problem.
----------------------------------------------------------
"This is sucks." I mutters.
"Don't think it's easy, Matt. There are reasons why magic users rarely uses shortcuts to increases their magic powers. The drawbacks aren't worth their powers." Andri said while sitting on my head. "But still, there are fools who didn't care."
"Nice to know that it's universal problem." I mutter before trying again.
"Magic are groundbreaking powers introduced to mortals. To prevent the world's balance broke, there will be some rules that keeps the balances." Andri stated.
"I can't believe I actually didn't questions your 'excuses' of getting lost while you have vast knowledges about this world." I mutters as Andri grins.
"It just goes to show that humans sometimes believe what they're told." I can't refute that, especially the fact that humans in my world can be ridiculous as fuck.
I rather not talk about them...
"Look at the bright side, at least your mana capacity will still grow naturally." I raise my eyebrow at that comment.
"Does having unnatural mana growth will harm the users?" I asked.
"Oh, you have no idea. There are cases of people having mana more than their body could handle and poisons them slowly and painfully." I paled at that fact. "You're super lucky that your mana capacity increase to the point your current body can still handle, or else you might experience that first handed."
Yup, no more increasing mana unnaturally. Oh, look, the mana orb shatters again, yippee.
"Hey, dear." I turn around and smile as mom approach me. "How's your magic training?"
"Still terrible. The mana increases ruins his controls." Mom giggled as I pouted at Andri. So much for being my first new friend.
"No need to worry, dear." Mom ruffles my hair while smiling. "Like I said, you progress much faster than children your ages. A few roadblocks won't hinder your progress much."
"I just wish my roadblock isn't some sort of reset. It made my progress feels.....lacking." I try to find a right word for the last part.
"No need to worry. I also face this kind of issues a few times." I look at mom who looks....embarrassed? "Your grandfather has an idea of how to increases my mana capacity significantly without risking mana poisoning. It did work but it was due to sheer luck. And I also face the same problem as you do. Took me 3 month just to relearn how to move a mana orb again. And ever since then, I refuse to do anything your grandfather suggested."
It does sounds embarrassing, and I feel a bit better. Not only because of mom facing the same experience, but she willingly to put asides her embarrassment just to cheer me up.
"Thanks, mom." I said with a smile.
"Like I said for a few times, just take it slow, okay?" I nodded before grabbing another mana orb and redo it again. "And don't overdo it again, okay!?"
"Yeah, mom!"
