Chapter 17 - Chapter 16 - Aura Training: Begins!

When dad ask me if I want him to train my aura with him, I say yes with zero hesitation. How can I not accept? Dad can do amazing shit with only his hoe, and whoever can do amazing shit with an unconventional weapon is the biggest 'A-Ok' in my book.

But, of all things that I don't expect is that dad actually invites the other kids from the aura festivals to join in the training.

I don't mind the company, heck, I want to socialize, but I am annoyed that dad surprise me with this.

"Hey, Matt." I look at Steven waving at me cheerfully. "I can't believe your dad actually invites me to join his aura training lesson!"

"I was a bit surprise that he actually invites others." Steven looks surprise and a bit downcast. "N-not that I don't appreciate your presences or all, but I wish dad would told me instead of use it to surprise me."

"O-oh. I can see why you look weirded out." I simply nodded. "I have to admit, I did not expect you to be a mana and an aura user."

"Yeah, I wasn't expecting about it as well." I said while rubbing my head. "To be honest, I thought that I will only have mana. I mean, I learn how to use magic for a while now and people said that aura is a rare ability."

"Yeah, but I never expect your aura looks amazing and your Unique Skill be awesome!" I blush while looking away. Despite hearing tons of compliments from mom and dad, a compliment from a complete stranger is something I never got used to.

"Tcch, only having a skill to combine mana and aura isn't impressive at all." Oooof course there's gotta be that dickhead that won't compliment other people even if it kills them.

"Geez, I know he's arrogant when he receive his unique skill, but to this point..." I look at the girl with a flaming fist as her unique skill and her sister. Wait, I thought she only has mana?

"I can't help it. People continue to praise him like he's a god or something. What's so special about combinibg Aura and Magic?" The boy said with a sneer.

"The fact that those two types of energy aren't meant to fuse together." I turn to see mom and dad arriving. Ah, so that's why the girl is here. Mom also offer magic training.

"What do you mean?" I unconsciously summon a sword made of pure mana and aura out of anger. This brat dare to be rude towards my parents who willingly train an ungrateful bastard like you!?

"Matt, please don't kill your fellow students." I scowl but nod. Only because mom said so.

"A-awesome!" I blink to see Steven stare at me with starry eyes. "Can you do that again!?"

"Please safe your Unique Skill training for later. And as for your question, Anthony, the reason why fusing mana and aura into one is an amazing feat is due to both are like fire and ice." I blink at that information. "If you can overpower an aura-boost attack with magic, the aura will be cancelled. And if you can overpower a magic spell with aura, the mana will be cancelled. And in theory, in order to combine two types of energy into one, you need to combine it at an exact amount, or else either of them overpower each other."

"Mom, are you saying that even a tiny amount of difference between two energy will cause the same result?" I asked as mom nodded.

"Indeed, even if the difference is only as much as a grain of sand is enough to cause the fusion to be unstable." I widen my eyes before looking at my hand. Is that why it's so impressive to anyone?

"Tcch, it's not as impressive as mine. I bet that if he doesn't have mana, the skill will be useless." That...is not wrong. Complete Union needs at least two different type of energy to even work.

"That may be true, but it's confirmed that it does not limited to a fusion of aura and mana." Dad, don't spoil the surprise. "But, that'll be a discussion for another time. Right now, let's get to the basics of aura training, physical training."

"....that's it?" For all of the gods' sake, please shut up!!

"I know it sounds boring, but Aura grows over time and there will be time when your body can't handle the amount of aura you have to the point that you will lose access of your aura." I was horrified. If you get lazy, you'll lose your access to aura!? I'm so lucky that I'm not a lazy guy. "In order to prevent that, training in physical body is a must. It'll help to balance the physical and spiritual side of your body, a requirement of using aura."

I guess that make senses. With how amazing Unique Skills are, there will be ahefty drawbacks.

"Wait, if that's true, then how did Matt can use aura?" I pale as I got called out. "I mean, his aura was so much that it knocks Sir Leon away like he's a paper getting blown by tornado."

"Well, my son has been training himself even before he got his aura." Thank you dad for not telling the full truth. "He may have learn magic, but he didn't neglect his physical training. Of course, I made sure he didn't overdid it."

"Wow! You're really amazing, Matt." Steven, if you keep this up, I don't think I can handle more compliments from anyone.

"Well, I guess you now have a friend in magic, Lisa. Maybe he'll teach you new things." Ahh, so the mage girl is Lisa.

"I-I guess...." Geez, she sure lacks confidence.

"Of course they would play favorite with their son." Oh, that's it! I'll chop his tongue off!

"I rather you not accuse me for doing that, Anthony." I saw mom and paled at her sickly sweet smile. "My son learns magic early because he asked, nothing more nothing less. I prefer if he learns it when he's older but my son ask me. How can I deny to teach someone with the willingness to grow beyond?"

"...tch." Is that his famous verbal tick or something? It's getting annoying.

"....I feel ashame to not ask my dad to help me." I look at Steven rubbing his shoulder. The girls also look ashame.

"Not to worry, guys. You guys now has the chance to train, just use it to your full advantages!" I said excitedly. "In fact, I bet that's the reason why mom and dad invites you guys to join the training! They see your potential and willingly to help you guys!"

This actually works as they look happier and more determine about this training. All except Anthony.

----------------------------------------------------------

"I'm glad that Matt easily befriends others." Martha said as Matt and the kids discuss with each other.

"Well....not everyone." Richard sweatdrop while looking at Anthony sneering at Matt.

"Give them time." Martha said. "Besides, his father ask us to teach him humility."

"With Matt's skills and wisdom beyond his age, he'll be the best in teaching him." Richard sweatdrops again. "If...Matt didn't decide to murder him cold-blooded."

"Don't worry, I'll made sure he didn't." Martha said with a smile.
