Chapter 12 - Chapter 11 - Aftermath

Being bedridden is suck, it's a common knowledge for everyone.

I've bedridden a lot of times back in my past life because of not taking good care of myself due to severe case of depression. And let's be honest, my past self is a bit crazy, how did I even went through all the boredom back then?!

"At least Andri's here." I look at Andri curling at the top of my chest. I rubs his fur and damn, still soft as ever. My eyes trail over the hidden scar around his neck.

"To think people like that still exist, even on the grand scale of multiverses....." I guess it won't be a realistic world if its only filled with sunshine and rainbow.

Suddenly, I heard the door is open. I turn around to see dad approaching me.

"Hey, champ." I can't help but smiled at dad's presence as he sit down in the chair next to the bed. "How are you feeling?"

"Tired...." I mutter as dad ruffles my hair, much to my protest.

"You exhaust your mana again, of course you'll be tired." I simply nodded before looking at the ceiling. "Champ.....are you okay?"

"...I'm okay.....I'm safe now...." I felt my smile strains as I look at dad. "You save me, dad...."

Dad suddenly move his hand and starts rubbing my cheeks. I notices tears on his hand. D-did I cry?

"It's okay, champ." Dad then hugs me. All I can do is to lean my head on his chest as tears won't stop flowing from my eyes.

Since when did I become this emotional? Is it because I have mom and dad? Is it because of their presences? Is it because of the near-death experience? Or is it both?

I don't care.....I feel like tons of weight lift off my shoulders...

I don't have to hide my true feelings anymore. I have my parents to share my actual feelings. It feels right to tell them how I feel.....

Gosh...is this how it feels to have parents? I guess 12 years of being orphaned made you feel clingy....

I.....don't hate this.....

----------------------------------------------------------

"How is he?" Martha asked as Richard walks out of the room.

"The experience shakens him badly." Richard said before looking conflicted. "But, he tries to act too mature about it."

"What do you mean?" Martha asked in worry.

"He tries to hide his fear. And if it wasn't his eyes start tearing up.....I wouldn't notice it." Richard said, very much worry about his son.

"Why...? Could it be....." Martha asked, confused and worried.

"I- I....I'm not sure....." Richard mutters.

----------------------------------------------------------

"You know that you need to tell them someday." I open my eyes just to see Andri stand on the top of my chest.

"Are you seriously want to discuss this again?" I can't help but groan.

"I'm serious, Matt. I didn't waste all my time reasoning with you and expect a zero result."

".....I know...." I mutter. "I'll tell them...but not now....."

"When? If you continue to keep it secret, it'll complicate everything when they found out." Andri is right about it, but I can't stop thinking about how they'll react.

"They will accept you no matter what." I look at Andri.

"How are you so sure?" I mutters.

"They're your parents, Matt. Trust them more, like how you trust your actual feelings towards them." Why do you have to make sense, Andri? "If I don't, you won't tell them and try to deny everything when they ask."

"That's not true...." I muttered.

"You do realize that your soul shows that you're lying, right?" Damn spiritual senses.

"...tomorrow. I'm too tired...." I mutter before closing my eyes.

"....fine." I feel Andri lied on my chesg again.

".....Hey, Andri?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm glad.....that you're okay. You don't deserve those."

"...thanks, Matt."

----------------------------------------------------------

"Hey, Matt." I look at mom and dad entering the room. I choose to stay bedridden till mom told me it's A-Okay. No need to give her another reason to worry her son, especially after getting kidnapped.

Even if I hate being bedridden.

"Hi, mom, dad...." I said as both sit down.

"How are you feeling today?" Dad decided to asked.

"A bit better. I feel my mana is returning." I was being honest.

"Son.....are you truly alright?" Mom asked as I look at her. Damn it, Andri, your words made me hesitate.

"Mom, dad...do you believe in reincarnations?" Both of my parents look at me in puzzlement.

"Honey, where did you learn those words?" Mom asked.

"I.....know it since beginning." I admitted, unable to lie. "Because I am one."

"...son-."

"I know it's sounds ridiculous, it's sounds impossible, but I'm telling the truth. I'm a reincarnator. I remember everything in my past life, how I grow, how I live, e-everything. Andri can confirm that statement! I-!" I froze as mom and dad hold both of my cheeks.

"Matt....we have a suspicion about you since you start learning magic." Mom said. "I know some kids are naturally talented genius, but your smarts have always been different. Then a spirit come towards you and stick to you despite being born to know where to go."

Wait, you mean, this whole time Andri stayed with me is because I'm a reincarnator!?

"Spirits always play a major role on guiding souls, and apparently, it also include reincarnators." I look at Andri who smiled cheekily.

"And even so, we didn't care. You are still my son, reincarnators or not." Dad added with a smile. "But again....thank you for being honest with us, son."

I can't help it anymore, I let out the tears I've been holding back since the beginning.

"I told you, you didn't listen." I turn to see Andri still with his cheeky grin.

"You rascal!" I grab Andri and starts to tickle him viciously, causing him to laugh uncontrollably. Mom and dad soon joined in.

It feels like another weight leave my shoulder.
