Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 – I’m weakling.

Few days passed after my unexpected encounter with the second reincarnated Iris Necrohearth.

Honestly, that day was just full with surprises.

Meeting one of the main antagonist out of the blue and then discovering than they are also a reincarnated. The though of encounter another reincarnated was a possibility, but not right after I recovered my memories.

Well, meeting them also helped me understand something.

I'm weakling.

Like a complete weakling.

My affinity is average, very average. Even a commoners have affinity level as me.

I can obviously become stronger with training compare to the Uri from the novel, but I still be a just average guy.

Compare to the Iris, I'm nobody at all. And to make matters worse, there will be probably some other people that were born talented or a monsters that I will be not be able to handle. Obviously I don't know if I can even stand a chance to them.

Even if I trained every day with my magic, I will be still just a hardworking guy and nothing more.

(Should I try and get another affinity? Or maybe I should become a magic warrior like my dad suggested.)

(No…. Those two methods won't do. It will only make me have more tools at my disposal to use and it's not a bad thing, but not the answer I'm looking for.)

(Then, should I look for the companions?)

"…"

"No. This isn't the answer either." – said the boy while sitting in his family library alone.

(I can't relay too much on the others if I'm myself still a weakling.)

(Finding a comrades is both a good and bad idea.)

(Right now, I have to find a way to get stronger myself.)

(…. Hm? My self?)

(Wait.)

The boy begin looking through the library.

"…. Found it."

[Summoning and Taming]

(There is really no need becoming stronger with my strength alone.)

("Summoning and taming". This book maybe contain something I need right now.)

(Taming is about befriending and having a monster or an animal join a forces with you while summoning is about making a contract or sacrificing own mana to summon a creature to fight for you.)

"…."

"Hm… This book mostly tell between the difference of summoning and taming. Anyway, why we had that book in our library in the first place? Nobody in our family uses summoning or taming."

(Anyway, taming or summoning maybe the thing I need right now. The summons and the tamed monster maybe the key of boosting my own power. Well, technically it won't be my power at all.)

The boy continue reading through the book until after some time he put it on the table.

"…. Fuck."

(The tamed creatures are not the mindless servants. They are companions that needs to be taken care off and well fed.)

(Taking care of the tamed monster isn't the problem, but the problem is finding a suitable monster for myself that works well with my earth magic. My fighting style and theirs may end up hindering each other in the way. There is also a matter IF I can tame a monster in the first place.)

(The summons the person can call upon mostly depends on their mana reserves as well as attributes. First is the contract summoning. This type of summon is when you make the deal with the summon so it can work with you and or borrow its strength. Something like offering your mana as a payment.)

(The other summoning is manifestation summoning. Those summons uses the person mana as the sacrifice to manifest a creature that will be controlled directly by you. This summoning technic is heavily relied on the user affinities. The monsters summed by manifestation summoning can drain the user mana every second or/and have a time limit.)

(Both my mana reserves and attributes are average, so I can't summon anything overpower or something. There is also a question if I can find any proper summons that I can make contracts with. As for the manifestation, I will have to spare mana to keep it up, so maybe during combat I wouldn't have a choice but let the summons do all the fighting if I want to keep them up. If I were to fight with my magic and the manifested summons, my mana will be quickly used.)

(I can try either summoning or taming, but will they really work out for me? It's still good choice for me to learn either of these if not both. Even if they both have their problems and downsides, the upsides are still worth for me. I'm more thinking about the summoning than taming. I don't know if I manage making the contract, but manifestation seems like a tool I could use.)

(Honestly saying, Iris has the best. She can just create the undead and work... With them?)

"Wait. Create them? That it!"

(If I can just create my servants that can anything for me, even die, then it will be perfect! If I don't have enough, I can just make more. If they are not strong enough, I can just a stronger one or improve one.)

(Servant creation is maybe the thing I need.)

(But obviously my parents won't allow me to learn necromancy. Necromancy isn't well like specialty among the nobility and there are only few exception like Necrohearth family, Iris told me about it that her family specialty is a necromancy.)

(Training necromancy in secret is also no go, since they would discover me eventually.)

(Is there any other way? Necromancy can't be the only way only way to create the monsters.)

"…. Think for crying out loud."

"What monsters can be created by someone?"

"….!"

"Golems!"

(Golems are usually known as the giant rock creatures made using magic in novels and games. In the novel there was some golems monsters in the ancient temple when the main character investigated it. They even appeared in the manmade dungeon made by academia founders.)

(In other worlds, it is possible to make golems in this world.)

The boy beginned looking though the whole library, checking books one by one.

[Sometime later.]

"Fuck. Not a single book has anything about the golems."

(Well, it's not like this library has everything in the first place. Most of the magic books here for example are all about earth magic.)

The boy left the library with annoyed look.

"Young master? Is everything alright?" – asked the boy's maid.

"Yes. Well. No. I couldn't find anything in our library on the thing I was looking for."

"Oh? But library has tons of information about earth magic that you wanted to learn."

"Well, I'm not talking about earth magic. I was kind of considering learning about golems, but there was nothing in our family library about them."

"Golem…... I'm sorry, but magic isn't my area of expertise, I'm more of the fighter."

"I see…."

"….Wait. A fighter? You know how to fight?"

"Yes. I never told you about that?"

"…. No and that really surprised me."

(She has a really "Soft" appearance like plush or something. I never knew she knew how to fight, if anything I would expect her to be more of the mage type instead of fighter. Looks can be really deceiving.)

"Anyway, maybe mom knows something or maybe knowns where I can find information about golems."

[Moments later.]

"Golems? Why the heck you want to know on how to make something like a golem?"

The boy and his maid were inside of his mother private room while she herself was by the desk and filling out some papers.

"Well, I kind of realized that I may have problems in the future when I'm adventurer, so I thought about learning taming or summoning magic. However, I also remember when I talked with Iris yesterday and how she was able to create skeletons with her necromancy."

"I kind of thought I could maybe also try and make my own servants."

"And that's where the thought of golems comes in."

"Well, sorry to inform you dear, but taming, summoning or even golems are the things I don't know about." – said madam Upira.

"But golems huh.... Hm. Emila."

"Yes madam?" – said the maid that was cleaning the room.

"Go with my son to the Elrik and ask him if he can accompany Uri to the library located in the southern district. I remember there was a library about magic and stuff there. Maybe there will be something about the golems there."

"As you wish." – replied the maid.

"I don't know if you find something there, but it's worth a try. I wish I could go with you, but as you can see, I have tons of paper work to do again." – said madam Upira.

"Thanks mom."

"No problem. Have fun." – said the madam Upira.

The boy left the room with the pair of the maids and headed towards the knights training grounds.

"Anderson stop I'm watching you, stop slacking on. Alex stop trying to-"

"Hm? Continue your training, I will be right back." – said a man with the mustache.

The man with the mustache approached the young boy and the pair of maids.

"Greeting young master. What brings you here?"

[Elrik – Knights capitan working for the Vvirian family.]

"Greetings Elrik. Madam Upira wanted to know if you currently have any time to spare." – said maid Emila.

"Well, right now I'm not doing anything besides the training. Does madam has any orders for me?"

"Yes. She wants you to take young master Uri to the southern district and find the library there about the magic. Is it possible for you to do that today?" – asked the maid.

"Hm…. Yea. I think I can go even right now. Handerson! Alex! Wipe your selves and get ready! We will be going out for the moment."

"Great. Then I will ask servants to prepare the carriage." – said the maid before leaving the training grounds.

"Well then, then we should get ready to head out two young master." – said Allie.

[Sometime later at the entrance of the mansion.]

"Everything seems to be ready. Well then, we are heading out."

After everybody was ready, the two escorts knight coached the caravan, while the inside of the carnage one knight stayed with the maid and the boy.

"So, where exactly we will be heading?" – asked the knight with the mustache.

"Madam Upira said that the library we are looking for was located somewhere in the southern district, it's a library about magic related subjects. However she couldn't remember where it was exactly, so we have to look around a bit." – said the maid.

"Okay. You heard her boys, we are going to the southern district."

The carriage headed out soon after and moments later, the carriage begin traveling through the streets.

[Sometime Later.]

"Stop the carriage here." – said the knight Elrik.

"Why we are stopping here?" – asked the maid.

"Well, I'm planning to ask around and see if anybody knows where the library, we are looking for is located. I will try to make it quick. Then please excuse me." – said the knight while leaving the carriage.

"You two. Guard them while I'm gone."

"Yes sir!" – replied the pair of guards.

The knight left the carriage behind and headed off.

"…."

The boy looked through the winddown and saw that the knight that just left got away a fair distance from them.

"Hey." – said the boy while opening a gap winddown between the passage seat and the coach seat.

"Yes, young master?" – said one of the knights.

"I'm going out for a walk for the moment."

"But, young master- "

"It will only take few minutes. If you don't like it, you can have one of you accompany me."

The two knights looked at each other.

"Well…. I think it will be fine? I will go with you while Handerson will make sure that carriage stays protected." – said one of the knights.

"Okay." – said the boy while leaving the carriage.

"Young master, where are you going?" – asked the maid.

"Take a look around, I guess. I spend most of my time in the mansion studding and all. I kind of need to take a walk once or twice."

(And maybe find something that didn't existed in the novel that exists here by a chance that can catch my interest.)

(Anyway, the city seems to be very lively. I'm walking around with the maid and the body guard, but people don't seems to mind?)

"…. Say Allie. Most of the people here wear fancy clothing or are caring lot of bags, but I barely see any people with more casual clothing like commoners wear."

"Well, this is because the southern district is dedicated nobles and merchants. The areas near the castle is where expensive stores for nobility while the area further out is area where merchants dominates it. Southern district is the usual place where people come to conduct business. Commoners appear more frequently at the part dominated by the merchants than this part of the city."

"Right now, we are somewhere in between two areas. Meaning there is a mix of both merchants and nobility here."

"Oh. But still, there is a lot of people here. Both merchants and nobles fills the streets. More than I expected really."

"Well, that is because we are near in the hearth of the southern district right now. The area between is where most popular stores are gather as well as auction houses. That place of the city is always filled with all kinds of people, from commoners, merchants and nobles."

"Probably if we head further away from the castle, we will encounter even larger group of people than here."

"Huh. That interesting?" – said the boy.

(This wasn't mentioned in the novel at all, but it seems the southern district maybe a place I should visit from the time to time.)

(Maybe I will find some stores that sell spell books or even grimoires if I'm lucky enough.)

"?"

The boy noticed from afar a familiar man walking towards him.

"There you are young master. I told you that it will only take a moment, why did you wandered off?" – said the knight.

"Sorry, I just wanted to take a look around for a moment. Anyway, did you found anything?"

"Yes. I manage to find out the location of the library in the question. Apparently, we will find it if we head more towards north from here."

"Great. Then let's head out." – said the boy.

[Sometime Later.]

"So, this is the place?" – asked the boy.

"Well, from the info the guy told me about. This was the nearest library that contains books related to magic." – said the knight.

The boy and other stood in front of the big old building.

(Well, I still have to go inside and see if there is anything I want to find inside.)

The boy and the rest of the group entered the library.

"…. Huh."

(I though this place would be more "Magical" since this is another world, but everything seem like just any everyday old library.)

"Welcome." – said the woman wearing glasses behind the table.

"What can I help you with?"

"Well, this little guy wonders if you can help him out find something." – said knight capitan.

"Hello. I'm trying to find any books related to the golems." – said Uri.

"Golems? Hm… Let me check."

The woman with the glasses took out a book laying nearby and opened it. She began looking through the list written on of the pages for some time.

"Golems, golems, golems…... Ah! We have two section about the golems. There is one located both in the standard area and exclusive area."

"Can I read them?" – asked the boy.

"Sure, but first the payment. 5 silver coins for access to the standard section for 1 hour and 30 silver for the access to the exclusive section."

"Hm… I will go for the standard section first for an hour." – said the boy while taking out 5 silver coins from the poach and putting it on the table.

"I understand. Then please wear this."

The woman with the glasses handed over a bracelet like device.

"What is that?"

"The book in the library has a defensive spell put on them so they can't be opened. Only people with those bracelets can open those books. This was made that people that didn't paid couldn't access book by not proper means. "

(Oh…. Huh. This is kind of well though?)

"Remember. You will take all responsibility for any destruction or damage you did to the bracelet or to the books you were reading."

"The books you are looking for should be in the section 5C on this floor. Just go in that direction and you should find it." – said the woman while pointing her finger.

"Okay. Thank you."

The boy headed towards the section the lady pointed to.

"5A, 5B…. 5C. Found it."

(Let's see.... Ah!)

[Basic Golem Knowledge.]

(There was something in here.)

"Well then, lets see what we got here."
