Chapter 6 - Another Problem

But, Shirley just sighed tiredly when she saw that Thalia wanted to make trouble with her again, she did not expect that Thalia was not as good as she imagined when she read this novel first.

"Ivy, let's just go home," Shirley said not caring about Thalia's previous words, she was too tired to play with Thalia, so she turned around and invited Ivy to go back home.

However, Thalia didn't look too happy when Shirley ignored her, so she turned to Victor and pointed out the intimacy between them, "You must be surprised to meet Miss Estelle, Your grace." Thalia could be seen rubbing her body against Victor's arm even more, deliberately doing so to make Shirley angry.

Shirley could honestly feel a surge of anger in her heart, it seemed to be a feeling left over from the real Shirley, she did not want to cause trouble at the moment, hence she hurriedly pulled Ivy away from there before she exploded in anger and made a scene with Thalia.

Fortunately, no trouble was caused and Shirley could breathe a sigh of relief once she was in her carriage. It was really annoying today to meet the two leads at once.

"How did I meet both of them, when I wanted to avoid them as much as possible," Shirley muttered as she lightly massaged her forehead, her head aching at the thought of what had happened today.

"Miss, I'm sure you must have been very surprised to meet Duke Blair earlier. Please don't shut yourself in again after what happened today, Miss." Ivy nervously linked her fingers, she did not want Shirley to be as moody as before after meeting Victor today.

"Take it easy, I'm fine," Shirley replied without looking at Ivy, preferring to lean her head against the window and stare out at the bustling streets of the capital city even though it was late afternoon.

Ivy shook her head sadly when she saw Shirley so sad at the moment, she knew that her lady must be very shaken after what happened today.

While Shirley herself was comparing Victor's face with Noah's, she had previously thought that Victor would be much more handsome than Noah because he was the male lead. However, after Shirley saw Victor with her own eyes today, she could say with certainty that Noah was still more handsome than Victor.

"Victor is handsome, but his arrogant face annoys me to death. Noah's still much better," Shirley mentally nodded her head in agreement with her own thoughts, suddenly thinking of seeing Noah in a few days.

. . .

The days leading up to Marques Madeline's banquet initially went smoothly without any problems that Shirley faced. However, just one day before the banquet took place Shirley heard that there was a problem at the lodge that Noah was staying at.

"What did you say, Noah is unconscious?" squealed Shirley in shock as she heard Ivy give her the report from the lodge where Noah was.

"That's right, Miss." Ivy did not dare look up to stare at Shirley who was angry like this, she kept her head down and waited for what Shirley would say.

"I'll be right there!" Shirley immediately rushed out of her room to immediately go see Noah, she could not let Noah die at this time, her head could be cut off immediately.

"But, Miss! You must immediately go to the western area to attend Marques Madeline's banquet," Ivy replied, quickly reminding Shirley that they had to immediately leave for the western part of the kingdom where Marquess Madeline's territory was located.

Instantly Shirley's steps stopped when she heard what Ivy said, it was true that she had to leave immediately for the western region because of the banquet. But, if Shirley did not see Noah now, she might be beheaded when Janice's family found out that Noah died by her hand.

Shirley was in a dilemma right now, she had to make a big decision that would greatly affect her future, whatever she chose right now would have a huge impact on her life.

"I don't have much time right now. You quickly pack the things I need for the banquet later, I will talk to my father first." Shirley stepped out of her room and decided to look for her father in his room.

Fortunately, Gilbert was in his room when Shirley came looking for him. Although Shirley was quite surprised when she realised that Gilbert was welcoming her this time, she did not have time to dwell on it.

"I will leave immediately for the west to attend Marques Madeline's banquet, My lord." Shirley also said her purpose in coming to look for Gilbert.

Gilbert cleared his throat softly, "You can call me father as before, there is no need to be so formal from now on," Gilbert said, inviting Shirley to call him normally.

For a moment Shirley frowned in confusion, but she did not ask any further questions and obeyed what Gilbert told her. "Then I'll be leaving soon, Father," Shirley said as she bowed her head respectfully.

"Be careful on the road, do you need a knight?" asked Gilbert before Shirley left the room.

Hearing Gilbert offer her a knight to escort her Shirley immediately panicked, she had no intention of bringing a knight at this time, "Father, why would I bring a knight. Marques Madeline's domain isn't too far from ours anyway," Shirley replied with a nervous chuckle, hoping Gilbert wouldn't insist on sending a knight for her.

"Alright then." Gilbert simply nodded his head and let Shirley leave his room.

When she arrived outside Gilbert's room, only then could Shirley breathe a sigh of relief, at least Gilbert had not forced her to bring the knight with his entourage. Shirley hurried back to her room, she had to leave immediately.

However, unluckily, while in the long hallway in her family's mansion, Shirley ran into Rosemary who immediately looked at her sarcastically when she saw her.

"Madam," greeted Shirley while politely greeting Rosemary, she didn't want to get into trouble with her stepmother.

Rosemary snorted when she saw Shirley greeting her, then she stepped up and stopped right next to Shirley and said, "Looks like you're leaving for the Marques Madeline residence, I hope you have a good trip, take care, Shirley."

"Of course, madam." Shirley bowed her head until Rosemary walked past her and left her alone in the long hallway.

Shirley honestly got goosebumps when she heard how Rosemary spoke to her earlier, for some reason she had a bad feeling right now, she just hoped that Rosemary did not have any malicious intentions towards her.
